Very nice food with good service. I really liked the antique décor of the restaurant. A waiter brings you a big black board for the menu in French with English menu printed on a A4 paper.

We stayed at Maison Favart and ate nearby in Le Sâotico on two occasions this trip. The wonderful confit duck is my favourite dish from a very tempting menu of classic bistro dishes and for as long as they make it, I’ll be ordering it. Wine is impressively selected and reasonably priced and service is attentive and efficient with staff and owner switching languages to make guests feel welcome.

I was introduced to this place by a friend who appreciated its excellent value/cost proposition.
Indeed the prices are quite moderate considering the quality of the food, all freshly made.
Whether you are a tourist looking for a sample of typical (but not boring) French food, a couple in quest for some romantic place in a nice aera in Paris, a business person who needs a quiet and professional setting to invite some guests, or just someone who wants to spend time with friends over a good meal, the Saotico is definitely recommended.

Atmosphere was convivial and front of house lady was very efficient taking our order, but thereafter it was very disappointing. Service overall was very frustrating- having to have your dirty plates, glasses and bottles left in front of you for more than 15 minutes with the waiter regularly passing empty handed and ignoring them! Perhaps he was new, but he definitely needs a lot more training. Starters of cod fritters were ok, but needed more of a sauce than simply the vinaigrette from the salad they were served with. My Wild Boar stew was quite tasty, but my husband's monkfish was awful. It was tepid in temperature, lacked any kind of flavour and the whole dish needed texture. Having been excited to experience this popular restaurant, we were very disappointed with the evening. I assume they were just having a bad night with new staff, but we will not be returning, sorry!

Huge disappointment. We expected good food and service, but found the opposite. We arrived at 8.30 and, at 11.30, we still had not seen more than half the menu. There were only 2 servers for a lot of tables and their priorities were debatable. The food we had the opportunity to eat was okay.
Conclusion: We had to leave without eating half the menu, paying €220 per 2 people and with a huge disappointment.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
We thank you for your comment .
We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed and we are disappointed ourselves that you did not wish to communicate about it once you were there...
Only 2 tables left that night without finishing their dinner and we offered them to take their desserts away .
Both refused...but the other table did not resented it . They were just in a hurry.
3 Hours seem to be a long time : are you sure about it ?
It is true that we had many people that night but we did our best to serve well everybody and nobody complained about the delay.
We are very surprised to hear that you were not convinced with the quality of our food, because you did not say so when you left and were asked about it. Why did you not just tell us ? What about the wine you drank ?
The price you are mentioning comprehend the buying of the first quality food with Foie gras and Scallops which costs a certain amount of money when cooked fresh. Both of which you did ate, did not you ?
What was lacking to your diner ? Cheese and Desserts ?
Best Regards
Anne Surcouf

We organized a business dinner for 10 people. The service was absolutely perfect, fast, discrete… able to talk in English and French. Food is too value for money - starters are small portions just to tease the appetite, main we’re served all together although we ordered several different choices. From the tartar steak to the salmon everything was fresh and well presented. Just amazing

Thank you so much for your 5 stars note and your super nice review for our little gastronomic Restaurant Le Saotico located in the 2nd Arrondissement, near La Bourse, Richelieu-Drouot et les Grands Boulevards.
We are happy to hear you enjoyed our food and that you had a nice diner in our little cosy restaurant. It is true our restaurant is not very touristic and a bit different from the known ones but it is created from our heart and from our effort to receive our customers well, food and service included....
For diner, lunchtime, business events or privatisation or catering, we are always thrilled to welcome our customers and do our best as far as service and food are concerned .. our food is said to be yummy, we think it is mostly because try to listen to our customers tastes and needs and we try to adapt and answer them. Thus we cook also vegetarian food, lactose free, gluten free, vegan whenever needed, and do takeaways, and deliveries when asked 😀 We hope to welcome you and your friends and collegues another time..

Just had dinner here with friends from work. We had one person that needs Gluten Free, one Vegetarian, one Vegan in our party. The helpful staff was able to accommodate all of us.
We started with a full round of appetizers (12 for the 8 of us). Amazing selection, all were delicious and included salad on each one (it was like getting a salad and an appetizer together).
The entrees were even better, We had a varied selection and all were very good, cooked perfectly.
Wine selection was also very good, with a lot of choices at various price ranges.
Staff was super helpful and personable. The restaurant was quiet and cosy.
On top of all that, when the bill came, it was super reasonable!
Just a great experience all around!

We found Le Saotico by looking at online reviews and we witnessed all the positive aspects of the experience. The staff was amazing, kind and professional. The quality of the food was great both in terms of product and presentation, not to mention the price (lower than average Paris restaurants with similar quality). Highly recommended!!!

everyone knows the burger to bun ratio is critical. here they missed that concept entirely, and their burger, itself tasteless, was smothered with american cheese (really?) and onions. the fries were undercooked, and the side salade was all vinegar. biggest disappointment was the not medium but extraordinarily rare cuisson. Why ask if you're going to make it au point anyway? pretty disappointed.

We looked on Trip Advisor for the reviews on this place. It was right down the corner from our hotel and did not disappoint! We started with Cod Fritters and a bottle of 1er Cru Pommard for only €60!! I had a duck breast and my wife had lamb chops. Both entrees were just as good as many of the Michelin Star restaurants during our trip! If you have a chance, definitely try this place for dinner. If you like wine, they don’t mark up their bottles much beyond retail as they want to allow accessibility to pair with their food.

My husband and I just returned from a 5 night stay in Paris and had the pleasure of enjoying our last dinner at Le Saotico. It was conveniently located just one block away from Hotel Saint Marc where we were staying. The menu was in French and the hostess was so kind to talk through each of the items with us in English. We ordered the crispy shrimp appetizer and two different duck entrees—the confit and the magret, both absolutely incredible and cooked to perfection. The desserts were also delectable, particularly the rhubarb and raspberry toast. Very romantic yet lively ambiance and attentive service from start to finish. Highly recommend enjoying a meal at Le Saotico during your trip to Paris!

We had a party of 24 in search of authentic French cuisine, if this is what you are looking for this is the place! The staff went out of their way to accommodate us in their upstairs dining area basically in our own private dining room. We had several appetizers including frog legs, onion soup, patte, All were outstanding. Then the best were the main courses. All prepared from scratch and outstanding. Lamb chops, duck leg and filet, sea bass, salmon and shrimp pasta, all were accompanied with sides which were outstanding. Finally the desserts, again from scratch, crème bruelle was to die for and shared by many. The ambience was perfect for our family setting and desire for authentic cuisine. Highly recommend!

We have been in Paris a month now. And have eaten at four Michelin Bib Gourmand and 1-star restaurants. This delightful place is on a par with them for service and food. We each had the 3-course plat du jour. and when my husband tipped my drink all over his daughter, the owner joked that a baptism by champagne would bring her luck. It was quickly replaced.
We started with a charcuterie, a beautifully plated burrata/tomato salad and a creamy escargot in a profiterole. Generous plats of salmon, lamb and duck were equally delicious. We inhaled the desserts before taking a picture. Coffee gourmand with 4 miniature bites of rice pudding, chocolate cake, creme brulee and, ugh, can’t recall the 4th. But it was terrific.
The menu is extensive. The owner charming. And the waitress was attentive without being cloying. The service is wonderfully leisurely, allowing for great conversations. It is not the place to be in a hurry.
It is in the 2nd arrondissement, only a few blocks from the Richelieu-Drouot stop on the 8 or 9 Metro. And hoping to head back for a lunch before we leave.

We went there on our last night in Paris and what a way to end our trip. The service was fantastic. It’s family owned and you could tell by the extra level of service. The menu was explained clearly by Lou and her mother and recommendations were given when asked for. We had a variety of dishes between the 3 of us and each mouthful was savoured in a really relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere that made you instantly at ease. Our son has already instructed us that on our next visit we have to return, we will.

I had the rum steak and my friend had the duck filet which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Couldn't rave enough of the caramel mousse and creme brûlée. Friendly staff. Reservations recommended as this is a small restaurant.
