We visited on New Year's Day after booking on First Table for 50% off food, and weren't disappointed. Both of our mocktails were delicious and you didn't really notice the lack of alcohol, and we enjoyed them alongside a generous portion of poppadoms and dips. For our starters we had meat samosas and Kashmiri paneer and both were beautifully presented and full of flavour, before moving onto the mains. I went for the chicken tikka masala for my main and the chicken was perfect - my pilau rice and naan were great accompaniments too. My partner had the tarka dal with pilau rice and we shared a side of Bombay potatoes - we weren't able to finish everything given we'd had starters too but what we ate was perfect. There's so much choice that it was difficult to decide what to order, particularly for my partner who was impressed with the vegetarian and gluten-free options on offer. The service was friendly and helpful - and we didn't feel rushed at all which was great. Good value for money too - even without our 50% off it would have been under £90 for two very generous portions in quite a fancy-looking environment. Can't wait to return!

We went to Sangam to celebrate my sisters birthday. We had a 10/10 experience. We got greeted my the manager who was friendly and funny and was seated at a great table next to the window straight away. The attendant Farhan was very attentive and was very friendly and informative. He gave us insight on the good foods and what matches to our preferences. The food arrived straight away with plenty of food for the price and the birthday experience was more than I expected with a birthday had a full size cake. Best customer experience.

We were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us to our table in what is a very nicely decorated restaurant. The staff were very attentive throughout our meal. We had popadoms and a pickle tray to start which were very fresh and the mixture of pickles was very good. We both like a little chilli heat in our curries and both went for the chicken jalfrezi with a shared portion of pillu rice and a shared garlic naan. The meal was lovely and the portions ample. I had a couple of pints of cobra beer and my wife had a very enjoyable cocktail. All it all a very nice meal who cost around £80, we will definitely return.

We visited this restaurant the last time we came to Manchester just over a year ago. We stumbled across it by chance and had the most fantastic experience - delicious food and friendly, attentive service. We were so impressed we recommended it to numerous friends and family and looked forward to revisiting some time. When we arranged our latest visit to Manchester we immediately agreed that eating at Sangam again was top of the list, so made a reservation for our first evening, Even on the drive up from London we discussed how we were looking forward to the meal. We’ve not long left the restaurant - what a massive disappointment! We were met with inattentive, disinterested staff who offered poor service. The food was bland, dry and tasted like it came from a supermarket jar; we didn’t finish it and weren’t asked why or offered to take it away with us (we wouldn’t have bothered). The atmosphere was quite flat despite being reasonably busy and we noticed somebody who appeared to be the manager or owner lead a group to their table whilst talking on his phone. It genuinely felt like they really didn’t care whether we were there or not, only one young waiter said goodbye as we left; the 2 more senior looking staff didn’t look up. We were polite, paid the ‘standard’ service charge and left without a fuss. I doubt most of the staff noticed we’d dined there. There won’t be a third visit!

Sangam came well-recommended by some work colleagues so took my dad for a nice meal. Was really looking forward to it, especially after a quick browse of the menu, which looked reasonably priced—£7/8 for a curry, alright. That being said, we got to the restaurant and I was absolutely astonished to see that a curry was £16.90 at this restaurant. What an absolute joke—and that didn't even include rice or naan. I could not believe my eyes. A bit miffed and unsure what to do, I decided not to embarrass my dad and leave—besides, perhaps the curry would be the best I have ever had... and it was very nice, but was it worth £30 (when factoring in rice and naan, which we shared between us)? No. Absolutely not. I remember when curries were a fiver all in and I know times change, but the inflation on this menu was actually unbelievable. At the very least, update your menu online so others aren't surprised when the food is over double the expected price.

After a quick look at the menu outside Sangam, myself and two others decided to dine here. Despite not booking a table in advance, the waiters were very quick to seat us at a table and provide us with the menu. There was ample of choice on the menu with really detailed descriptions of each dish which was great. The drinks menu also contained a wide variety of soft and alcoholic drinks to suit all tastes. Food was served fresh from the kitchen and was well presented. There was more than enough food for the 3 of us! The decor of the restaurant was lovely. Very Instagramable - even the restrooms were well decorated. Unfortunately, the bill did not live up to the same standards. When we received the bill, a 'discretionary' 10% service charge had been added. On the menu, it stated that this would be added for parties in excess of 8 people so considering we were a party of only 3 people, I was shocked to see that this had been automatically applied. I asked for this charge to be removed and that I also have a student card in line with their student discount advertised outside the restaurant. I was informed that they probably wouldn't be able to do both but after some time, they returned with a revised bill. The service charge had been removed but the student discount was very confusing. The discount depended on the day of the week and the time etc. It ranged from 10% to 20% so if intending to use this, I would check before dining what rate will be applied. I would recommend Sangam to anyone looking for a good India restaurant in Manchester but be cautious of the billing system in place.

Thought I shall give a second try...but shouldn't have Ordered A biryani...and I told waiter what was issue last time...there wasn't enough chicken in dish...But all in vain. Dish came with 3 chicken tikka prices chopped up...and at least 500g of rice. Wonder is it Chiken Biryani or Biryani rice with chicken drizzle for 18 sterling...omg...what a joke Then there is a waiter cleaning tables with his fingers stuck in water glasses and water bottles. Same waiter sets a table with clean glasses (well done) but of course fingers stuck in clean glasses. Restaurant looks good, but food and service (poor) is hidden behind oil and butter in food. So so disappointing

How can a dinner be ruined? By going to this awful restaurant. We were greeted rudely by a bald man, giving us negative vibes from the start, as if we had arrived without a reservation. It took 50 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did, it was terrible—bland, undercooked gravy, and dry naan. Serving undercooked Indian gravy to an Indian family is inexcusable. The main course came out in bits and when we asked about it, the server apologized but said the chef was busy. Really? Busy ruining the food? To top it off, there was no water on the table, and we were never offered any. Additionally, despite calling themselves a "Restauro Bar," they blasted loud music that made it impossible to hear each other. They played Indian songs intermittently, only to abruptly stop, forcing us to yell to converse. The food was so bad that we finished it in 10 minutes and had to leave.

Excellent service, delicious food, and a fantastic atmosphere. We visited on a busy Saturday evening (booking is highly recommended), but the wait for food was reasonable despite how full the restaurant was. The staff were hardworking and courteous, promptly resolving an issue with one of our dishes. The food was outstanding, and the beautifully decorated, atmospheric setting added to the overall experience.

We were staying I'm Manchester for the night and looked up Indian restaurants and the Sangam came up with 4.3 and good reviews. Unfortunately I would not raye this that high. Whilst our experience was not bad it was at best average. The waiters could do with some basic training on dealing with customers, not very welcoming. And at times we had to signal a waiter due to not being seen to. This was on several occasions from taking our order to clearing the table. The food again was at best average. Both my wife and I love curries and whilst we like spicy we prefer tasty curries. Ours were very plain but with basic heat. No depth of flavour. To top this off we ordered a good bottle of white wine which was warm... sorry but if your paying over the odds for wine I expect it to be chilled. We will not be returning to the Sangam..

The food was ok, like many other Indian restaurants. The food was stronger than I'm used to from the corresponding places. But the service was less good. When we were ordering, the staff always thought we ordered too little and we had to defend that we do not want more. For example, we only ordered two bowls of rice for four people because we know that we do not eat more rice. It took convincing the staff to understand that. And yes, the rice was perfect enough so lucky that we did not buy 4 bowls. During dinner, the staff came and asked if we would have more even though another one had been asking the exact same question two minutes earlier. High noise, mix of music and the people who were there.

Been here a few times and it's always been great but tonight wasn't the best. Good job we booked because the place was packed early evening mid week. This is a good thing as it shows that the restaurant must be good but also a bad thing as things can go wrong with so many people ordering. We were served drinks quite quickly but then had to wait a while for our food order. The waiter only took the order for starters which meant we had another long wait after finishing them for our mains order to be taken. When the mains eventually arrived they came a bit at a time instead of all at once for the three of us. First to arrive was my nan bread and madras sauce ( a tiny little portion ) . By the time my tandoori chicken arrived about fifteen minutes later the curry sauce and nan were cold so I had to send them back. Luckily my chicken was on a hot skillet or that would have gone cold as well while I waited. My partners meal was missing a side salad she had ordered and her brothers was missing a curry sauce. When we eventually got everything the food was superb although it was very expensive for what you got. It's just a shame tonight was let down a bit by the service, however I'm glad to say it won't stop me from returning.

Not only is the food FABULOUS (good, varied menu, lots of choices for vegetarians) but the service we received was a joy, efficient and professional but also very friendly and kind. It’s a little bit pricey but very well worth it, I can’t recommend Sangam (Manchester City Centre) highly enough. THANK YOU for a lovely evening.

Booked table online for 3 people for 7.30pm as it was right next to our hotel. Noticed it was busy from lunchtime and looked full an hour before our time slot. We arrived at 7.25pm and was seated in a 'waiting' area and after about 10mins our drinks order was taken. People still queuing at door and many couples and groups waiting for tables inside. We were eventually seated at our table at 7.50pm and we had to ask where our drinks had got to. Our food order was taken and we were advised it would be 20-25mins as they were very busy. We ordered 3 rice, 3 naan bread, 3 different chicken dishes. Still taking groups of people in. We had poppodoms whilst waiting and ordered another drink but by 8.45 we still hadn't got our meals. My husband went and spoke to a member of staff and told them that if we didn't receive our food within 10 minutes we were leaving. All of a sudden there was activity around our table. Offer of free drink and apologies. Food was tasty but service slow and quite expensive - over £100. Another couple seated a few tables away from us had also been waiting an hour. It appeared to us that larger groups were catered for first and they never seemed to tell anyone at the door about the wait and just kept bringing people in even though they had trouble serving people already inside.

I highly recommend this place! The food is really nice, and it's got so many different options for food, some of which I've not seen at similar restaurants. The poppadoms come as smaller pieces and they bring you enough for your table, with the option to add more if you want as you go along, which u thought was a nice touch. The menu is split up well with lots of allergy and dietary information on the main menu which means that you can be fully informed without needing a discussion with someone if you don't want to. The only downside I found was that they tried to clear our started away while I was still eating mine. Not something I personally like, but I know a lot of people aren't bothered with things like that.
