While staying at the nearby Premier inn we came across this market restaurant and it made our stay in Doncaster, to start with we ordered oysters dressed with apple and dill a combination I have not tried before but they were excellent then small plates...of calamari, scallops, and king prawns. Each dish was cooked to order and packed with flavour from the fresh ingredients used, finally we tried a special which was smoked mackerel on a beetroot salad (amazing) and washed it down with a very nice glass of white wine. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates fine ingredients and the time and effect put in by the staff to make your eating experience fantastic!.More

Fantastic food, superbly fresh ingredients, excellently cooked and making the most of fresh food. Great atmosphere, bustling fish market, fantastic staff who are so friendly..... Chefs so accessible and really want feedback. Watching the hustle and bustle of the fish market fantastic along with watching...the chefs work at speed.. Awesome experience. A new fave! Deserves to be as successful as it obviously is... Wine list interesting too.... Tip... sit round the kitchen high seats. Great atmosphere and the hear the Chef sing!More

Visited yesterday and managed to get a table. My partner had the South Indian Fish Curry which was amazing. I decided to have one of the specials which was 3 small bon bons of slow cooked lovely spicy lamb along with 3 scallops. I was...dissappointed when my plate arrived about 7 minutes before my partners but even more dissappointed because I was expecting a little more on my plate which if I had know I would have had it as a starter. Anyway I shared some of the lovely curry. Another dissappointment was when the bill arrived with my meal at £14.95. This would have been ok if had been a large plate but it wasn't, looking at the small plates on the menu and the prices I would have thought this would have been a small plate. The food was very very nice but just not enough on my plate.More

First visit since they re-opened, as we have to go on a Saturday as wife works for NHS. They now use rather nifty disposable plates made from palm leaves, they look good and perform really well. Everything else is the same, wonderful food prepared and...served really well. Felt a bit sorry for them today as they were busy but two members of staff down, but all remaining staff remained happy and efficient. We had our usual prawns, scallops and calamari all cooked to perfection. Having seen a customer next to me having tandoori bass with bombay potatoes I know what I am having next time. Which hopefully wont be too long.More
