We were in Ironbridge on the Easter Saturday 2023 after walking in from our campsite, with our 2 dogs. 1 dog is older and slower and we were looking for a place to sit down, have a drink and let the dog rest a little....We found ourselves at Cleo's end of the main road in Ironbridge. It was almost 12:00pm, noon, literally seconds away. We entered Cleo's outside drinking area, navigating ourselves around a parked van. The manager was putting out the empties and rudely and abruptly told us to 'get on the other side of the barrier'. I said we were after some drinks and asked if he would he be opening soon, it being midday. He again was rude and abrupt and snarled 'we're open when we're open'. I said 'sorry for asking, we'll take our custom elsewhere'. Which we did. Found a far more warm and welcoming venue. There are a few reviews on TripAdvisor and Facebook which will tell you of similar rudeness from management and staff. Stay away. We intend to.More
Cocktails were good, but staff insisted on us leaving 15 minutes prior to the advertised closing time, even though we explained we were waiting for our taxi, which was pre-booked. Staff were incredibly rude at the end of the night, won’t be returning.
I am a local, I never do reviews like this but I am sick of how rude the staff are. Ridiculed every time and treated like an inconvenience. Do not waste your time going there- many others feel the same
Very funky and cosy bar with awesome decor and great staff and management. There is loads of tea rooms in the village and this bar offers the same food but half the price of the tea rooms! They have live music at times and dog...friendly. Great all year round outdoor heated space. Great relaxed atmosphere. They even do breakfast!More
From the outside I was lured in by the thought of cocktails and an omelette! Once in I should have trusted my instinct to leave. Decor is eclectic, or confused, I'm not sure which, many themes and eras covered in one space. Tables and chairs...were sticky. Staff, a balance of threatening and friendly, which was confusing. My omelette was very well done and literally inedible. The cocktail was ok. I was sad and grumpy.More
So it is 4 years since I last reviewed this bar and it has new owners since that time. My wife, some friends and I attended the quiz last night and I have to say what a night. I know they don't do food after...6 until the weekend so we got there early to eat and were not disappointed, the pizzas and chilli nachos were excellent ; good quality and good quantity. A great choice of lagers, served cool and very reasonable. The quiz was packed and well written so that everyone felt they had performed well, and you can't want more than that. It was exceedingly close as the teams came to the last round which was music and worth 30 points, and with the songs varying from the 70s to the 2010s this round again had something for every team. Finally a big shout to the bar staff who worked monster hard all evening and always had a smile, well done Hayley and James.More

Lovely quirky little bar, we had cocktails and squashed frog and jammie dodger shots, very quick service and staff where lovely.
Looked lovely from the outside went inside and thought what a really nice place ordered 2 drinks Guinness and a white wine go sit down the girl said 15 minutes later a person who I understand runs the place we said how long will the...drinks be they then arrived at the same time he said it's not Macdonald's you know, Guinness was not the best so we left we talked to another customer who said he had to chew the larger funny love ironbridge but will avoid this placeMore
Popped into here for a bite to eat on a Sunday lunchtime- loved the quirky look of the place and the menu was good. The service was friendly and relaxed- we ate outside which was pleasant. Food was exactly as we expected it to be...and delicious.More
We visited on a Saturday lunchtime, for a coffee and snack, and really enjoyed our time here. The cafe bar is in a good location in the centre of Ironbridge. It has very quirky decor and a great atmosphere. There was a good range of...sandwiches/snacks/cakes on offer. Service was great and we particularly enjoyed our chat with Mike, the owner/manager. We would definitely return, and try evening drinks/cocktails next time.More
Went here on a Thursday evening for cocktails. We told the waitress and asked for the drinks menu. Our group had two beers and three porn star martinis. On leaving I noticed a sign saying that Thursday they have a special deal for cocktails. Wish...this had been mentioned to us when we arrived - we may have stayed for more! The owner was there and greeted some fellow guests warmly - he obviously knew them from the way they were chatting. The owner/manager fitted the conversation around taking out the bins so he's pretty hands on I'd say. He was also audibly discussing a nearby 'fine dining' restaurant saying if he goes out to eat he wants to feel like he's eaten a meal rather than admire something that looks fancy on a plate. That made me smile as we'd just had a rather disappointing experience there. This place is obviously popular with locals as there was a large group inside celebrating an 18th birthday and groups of young-ish people sitting outside and inside. I think the waitress was very busy and probably didn't have the time to give us much chat. It was a pleasant drink but that was about it. Interesting to see the owner/manager as per some of the less than favourable reviews here.More
I would recommend cleos to anyone. Visit here every time we’re in Ironbridge. Mike, the owner makes everyone welcome. Drinks are reasonably priced ,also staff are very attentive!! Can’t wait to visit again soon- Martin + Neil, Wrexham.
Visited Cleos yesterday. Delightful outdoor area with Lambretta and vespa. Quirky interior. Food was fine for snacks. Trying hard to comply with covid precautions. Nice cocktails. But ... the owner was rude to a number of customers audibly admonished a group who seated themselves and...have to say ld have walked out had he spoken like that to me. The bars were busy so I'd guess he felt he could be choosy but would not encourage me to return. A shame as other staff scampered around him , clearly not wanting to attract the sharp edge of his tongue.More
