About
The French Quarter is a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant & wine Bar in a community of unique and quirky businesses in Newcastle city Centre. We are a friendly and approachable team of people, with a passion for the good things in life. Born from nostalgia for a traditional style of commerce and a desire to challenge perceptions that French dining is formal or fussy, we work with independent suppliers to offer a regularly changing wine list & tapas style menu. We have created a casual and sociable environment where customers are invited to experience our food, try our wines, shop from our deli and share our love of all things French!

Lovely food really enjoyed all parts of the meal. Didn’t think it was that expensive. Good menu and lots of choice will be back. Would recommend if you like tapas food.

This was our first visit here for lunch & we were so impressed with everything! The meal was delicious & typically French. The service was superb & the brasserie look was equally special! We’ll definitely be back very soon!!

Went here between Christmas and New Year and have to say was not particularly impressed with the menu. Place was cold, £6.95 for a 330ml bottle of cider - rip off. Didn't order a starter, but ordered the beef bourguignon. This came and the beef...was a little chewy and the overall dish was hugely over-salted, to the point I was unable to eat it and left 90% of the food. When I told the waitress she just said OK and there was no offer to take it off the bill. Needless to say I shall not be going back.More

We had a fabulous meal here last night. On arrival Luke introduced himself as our server for the evening and explained how to select and order. His knowledge of the food and wine was first class and the food and wine were wonderful. We will...definately return very soon.More

French Quarter was the first restaurant we chose after Lockdown so what better place to spend NYE. Never fails with superb atmosphere, food and wine. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended to eat and chill out.

Lunch was fabulous. Great menu with lots of choice. My friend and I had a few small plates followed by the confit of duck which was sublime. Excellent wine menu. Due to the wine flight we found a wine that we would never had otherwise...tried. The team are extremely knowledgable. They were very welcoming and looked after us beautifully whilst we ate, drank and chatted the afternoon away. Great food, great wine and great place. Highly recommend.More

This is a fabulous restaurant and a place we always go when visiting Newcastle. The food, service and wine is fantastic. We wanted to have a meal after our wedding ceremony but because of our family circumstances we had to cancel it. They were so...lovely and understanding and Taryna the Manager was kind and helpful she couldn’t do enough to help us, she really was amazing. We always like to support independent businesses and the FQ is a real gem! The wine flights are a great idea and the staff very knowledgeable about the wines and food. Can’t wait to get back soon. Food absolutely stunning. Every single thing we had was gorgeous. Special shout out for the boeuf bourgignon, baked Camembert and the frites! Highly competent and well priced wine list. Service was top top class. You seriously will not find better value.

Good morning, Yes, we have disabled access and toilets. The nearest parking is on dean street. There is a multi-storey parking there which is 5 minutes walk from our restaurant.
