My husband had booked afternoon tea as a surprise, and how nice it was. We were welcomed and shown to our table by Jane, who was so lovely. We had tea and coffee whilst waiting (not for long) for the afternoon tea, consisting of three...types of bite-sized sandwiches made of very fresh bread, scones with cream and jam (delicious), and a selection of cakes and macerons. We felt very full towards the end and considered taking some away in a doggy bag, but the temptation was too much to resist and it all disappeared eventually. We were offered refills of tea and coffee, and water. It was all made on the premises, and served on fine china in a very comfortable setting. Would definitely recommend. And don't look at all the cakes at the counter else you'll never get out of there!More

Visiting Wells whilst on a staycation to Somerset and came across this place. Received a very warm welcome and had a really nice lunch. I ordered the Ham and Chicken Mayo sandwich and it was so tasty. Made with really fresh ingredients, very impressed. The...coffee was also very good as was the service. Would definitely come back if I ever return to Wells.More

Good range of options on the menu. Deceptively large interior. Licenced aswell so handy if you fancy a lager with your panini. Reasonably priced.

Found it again on our most recent visit and sat in the pretty courtyard for a hot chocolate and toasted tea cake each. Last time had delicious breakfast.

The first time we’ve had breakfast ‘out’ for nearly 18 months. Long awaited and it wasn’t going to disappoint. Full Pickwicks Breakfast with two of everything and tea to wash it down and my wife had a very nice looking (and very tasty said she)...smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on toast with a Latte. All Covid secure with prompt and efficient service with a (hidden behind the mask) smile (it’s in the eyes!). So glad this cafe is open again and showing what real service and good food can do to lift up the spirits!More

First time we’ve been to wells since lockdown started to be lifted. We have eaten at this establishment before so knew where it is, as it’s a little off the main area. The food is made freshly and very tasty. I also felt very safe...with there Covid regulations.More

We have been several times to this cafe / restaurant, as it is always reliable. Today, we wanted a relatively light lunch so decided on sandwiches. I was a bit concerned at the description of “farmhouse sandwiches “ as I struggle with very thickly cut...bread. I was reassured and chose the prawn with Marie Rose sauce. My husband opted for the ham and chicken sandwich. When they arrived, at an astonishing speed, we were both delighted. Our expectations had been outdone. Since dining places reopened, we have visited a few and can only describe them as okay. We were fed and not overwhelmed. Today was the opposite. The sandwiches were heaven. Oh, and the waitress was delightful.More

Have to say what a delightful experience our afternoon tea was. all home made treats on offer, and the staff are incredible, they couldn't do enough for us. they made us both feel very welcome, and we will definitely do this experience again! Just a...point to note that you will need to give them 48 hours notice, but it is well worth doing.More

Although we don't have any parking ourselves there is on street parking outside and the bus station car park is approximately 150 yards from us.

There are some spaces for Blue Badge holders in the High Street and in all the nearby car parks. There are car parking spaces immediately outside the café, but obviously that is a matter of luck. Busiest times in Wells are... More
