Very, very disappointing. The 'salads' in our case broccoli and some other items, arrived fridge-cold and so under-cooked - if cooked at all - that it was impossible to cut through the stems. The cakes are good, but the "mains" are shockingly poor.

I've been going to Ottolenghi in Angel since shortly after it opened in 2004, and it's been instant love. Nopi is a lot more convenient to me and I like it a lot, and I loved the takeaway Ottolenghi briefly ran in Covent Garden a...few years ago, but the Angel restaurant is probably still my favourite. Every time I go, I worry I'll be disappointed, that they are going to rest on their laurels, or that it will have become over-rated, but it is essentially spot on every time, with a mixture of boldness and finesse, original pairings which seem obvious the moment you taste them, and inventiveness that never seem to dry. Oh, and I could eat every single dessert that Ottolenghi ever comes up with, particularly all of Yotam's chocolate creations. In short, I've always loved the place and still very much do.More

Perfect place for a brunch. We loved it, the shakshuka and scrambled rose harissa tofu were perfect. With the food being so good, expect everything to take time. We waited 40 mins on food, it’s worth the wait!

Wonderful! Booked for lunch. A selection of gorgeous breads with olive oil and mixed olives to start … so different & interesting. Then two hot mains with four unusual and very tasty vegetable dishes. It’s a meal you might not have the time - or...skill - to cook at home. Takes you out of your comfort zone, which is why it’s so nice. Accompanied with two chilled glasses of white wine … perfect and more than enough for two. On leaving we passed the shop and were easily persuaded to buy some mouth watering cakes for later🙄More

My daughter and i stopped by for breakfast last Friday, the restaurant was empty as we had made an early start but we were immediately made to feel welcome and that it was no problem to leave the table and browse the shop. We ordered...flat whites which were exemplary and eggs Shakshuka which was out of this world, every composite part perfect, portion size generous but not out facing and presentation rustic but perfect even down to the starched linen wrap round the hot pan handle. Service was discreet and friendly, We had high hopes after 2 years in Canada reading the books and these were exceeded. Bill was 35 for two including tip, please go here.More

Great breakfast today, I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with a side of bacon and my wife ate the cinnamon French toast with jam. Coffee is good and strong. Everything is freshly prepared, the ingredients are first class and servings are large. Service...is friendly and efficient and the bill, at £38 including service, is good value for Islington. One small quirk, why have glass doors on the loos (admittedly frosted!)??More

Having lunch at Ottolenghi in Islington is a feast: extensive choice, all perfect made, friendly staff, good atmosphere, reasonable prices. (For Ottolenghi) Also deserts are absolutely delicious.

I went there for lunch and had one of the best meals I ever had! I am vegetarian and it was really nice to see so many options for me. I recommend the aubergine with tahini dressing! For dessert I had a vegan tangerine cake...which was amazing. The staff is really nice and professional. 10/10 recommendMore

Food is great. Service is second to none. Love coming here for breakfast! The scrambled tofu is to die for. The cakes are all incredible too. I love the chocolate tart with the mascarpone cream + the vegan yuzu and pistachio the best. Would recommend!
