We booked this restaurant as it was voted one of the top restaurants in London and had two Michelin stars. They do tasting menus, a longer and shorter version. Open kitchen where you get to see the chefs at work. All was very calm in...the kitchen! We started off with snacks and I expected a few as previous restaurants we had been to did. No there were about 6or 7! Food was very good with the mackerel sushi and trout course being the stand out dishes. We had some dishes adapted for us as we have a few dietary restrictions. Lovely service especially from the young Italian chap (sorry can’t remember your name but had an Ozzie tattoo!) The sommelier was very good and she explained all the wines in great detail. Small restaurant and would definitely book in advance.More

Only had one night in London available for a long meal, so had to choose judiciously. The Eater Top 50 list has them ranked at #38 and the Michelin guide has them at 2 stars, so decided to try this place to celebrate a few...family birthdays. Definitely worth the steep price tag. A month later, there are 2 dishes that stick in my mind. Early in the meal - the smoked trout dish. It was so delicate and flavorful. And later in the meal - the pork dish. The skin was perfectly crunchy, salty, and juicy. The fat layer was spiced to perfection. And the meat layer was juicy and tender. I've had a lot of good pork from a lot of good restaurants, but this was as close to perfection as you could get. The wine pairings were pretty spot on. Really enjoyed the Clemens Busch riesling.More

We were able to snag last-minute bar seats, and I am so glad we did! The staff was warm and welcoming, and chatted with us throughout. The individual dishes were thoughtful and delicate, some stood out more than others. We went for the wine-tea pairing...and absolutely loved it, on one hand having only half wines kept us sober and our palates clean, and on the hand the individual pairings were spot on, lifting the dishes. We walked back to our hotel and talked about the meal the entire way. Fantastic!More

Had a wonderful time here! The staff are really attentive and great to converse with. We were sat right at the front so you could see all that was going on in the kitchen which was amazing! It was nice to see the chef and...greet the staff on arrival. They only have 1 set menu for the evening and nothing else. We were really pleased with all the dishes. Really nice atmosphere for a quiet formal style dinner.More

We dined with our daughter and had a very long and pleasant evening! We enjoyed the tasting menu with the wine pairings. What especially stood out was the Green Herb Broth from the snacks and my favorite food was the Smoked Whitshire Trout! The wines...were very nice, however predominantly white! My favorite was the 2019 Barbaresco from Piedmont. I really enjoyed the open kitchen prep concept and the service of the sommelier was outstanding!More

Definitely one of the best in London fine dining. Although the restaurant is located in an older building, it contributed to its uniquely idyllic and appealing character. It has surpassed all our expectations, each course tasted amazingly good and excellent service complete our dining experience....BTW, the apple pie is one of the best. Certainly deserving its 2 Michelin stars and top 50 best. Don't hesitate, it's highly recommended.More

Great dining experience. Very well paced, all the dishes tasted excellent and were beautifully presented. I was particularly impressed with the sommelier, who recommended a great half bottle ( I was dining alone). Definitely deserves the hype.

Let me start by saying we declined to pay the service because it was below par for a Michelin star restaurant. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing, one had the tea pairing. The sommelier did an outstanding job with the wine and tea...selections. The food was 'fine' actually it was quite boring. The fat on the pork chop was undercooked and therefore inedible. The stuffed jelly accompanying the single clam was not pleasant in texture nor flavour For the exception a disgusting warm potato mousse served as a dessert which I refused to take another mouthful of.More

The double edge sword of being a reasonably confident, relatively creative cook is that often when I eat out I think to myself, “I could make this.” At no point during today’s lunch at The Clove Club did that thought even enter my mind. Each...course was inventive, delicious, innovative, and perfectly executed. The service was exceptional. The milieu was perfection. Since it was my one and only splurge meal while here in London, it was under a lot of pressure to perform, and it did so beautifully. Definitely fine dining at its highest level.More
