This is a lovely family run place which is a credit to Rye,the food is really good and now with things becoming back to normal, with regular menu changes the selection of dishes are good weather vegan, veggie or like myself a meat eater. They also have...a delicious choice on the specials board, once again regularly changed. I visited with friends and there 8 year old daughter they loved it so much we've booked to go back early December, we had the lasagne, ham egg and chips and jus a desert for the little one...OMG the lasagne was to die for!! The food was piping hot really well presented and resonably priced the staff couldn't do enough to help....All in all a great visit nice and toasty with the open log fire on a chilly Sunday.......WELL DONE TO ALL THE STAFF AT THE KINGS see you very soonMore

Had the most amazing Sunday dinner. Definitely highly recommend. Gorgeous crispy roast potatoes and big Yorkshire puddings. Empty plates all round from my children and partner.

Visited here yesterday evening for a family Anniversary meal and was greeted by a very friendly waitress, Lucy, who looked after us all evening. Our drinks came, and they were fine. But the food was not worth the expensive price we paid. It was £17.50...for a mixed roast, which, at that price I expected to be really good. I was really disappointed. The meat was cold, and seemed like the processed kind you get from a packet. All the vegetables were cold too, apart from the roast potatoes which were hot but hard. The cabbage was soggy, and the peas and some of the the Yorkshire puddings were overdone. The sticky toffee pudding was passable, but my grandson's three small scoops of ice cream (one very small) at £6 was a rip off. I didn't want to complain at the time and spoil the evening for the others. If it hadn't been for Lucy the evening, for me, would've been a complete wash out.More

Booked a quick weekend break , stayed in kings lodge 1 which was a nice size self contained lodge . Very comfortable and met all our needs. Had breakfast and evening meal on both days and found the food to be of a good standard....Quite often you go to a pub restaurant and they try to upscale the food in various ways, (goats cheese and beetroot seem to be the in thing at the moment every where you go) but here just it was your basic good plan food . There was a specials board if you wanted something a little different. Found the staff to be friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. Will definitely go back and stay .More

Stopped here for lunch on the off-chance. A lovely decorated pub which was very warm and welcoming. The food was really good and well- presented and I loved the attention to detail with little hand sanitisers on each table. Even down to the restrooms which...were tastefully decorated and clean (which says a lot for me). This pub also has accommodation if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Rye which is near to Camber Sands (by car) but I cannot comment on the accommodation as I did not stay. However, if it’s anything like The decor in the pub, I would most certainly not be disappointed. All staff were very friendly, including the owner who served us. Not to mention the lovely Amy!More

Booked the luxury champagne room at £160 a night. First impression was good, however when shutting the curtains we found that they didn’t close properly, there were burn marks on the carpet, a very small tv for the size of the room. The bathroom smelt...of sewers and got the price yiu would think that there would be a decent shower. It wasn’t. Tiles were lose behind the sink. One consolation was that the bed was comfy although there was a big stain on the duvet cover that looked like rust. I wouldn’t rate this room as luxury and would probably only be happy paying £90More

Didn't know what to expect, but it was a truly wonderful couple of days. The staff were so attentive and couldn't do enough for you. We stayed in one of their cottages which was perfect. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The shower was...probably the best I've ever used. The food was wonderful with plenty of choice. All in all, a really good experience.More

We booked ahead for supper so no excuse they were not expecting us. On arrival we were taken to an unset 6 person table close to the kitchen door and in the path of many servers. There were two of us. We asked for a...move and begrudgingly this was granted to the bar area on one of several occasional non dining tables. We were unimpressed with the menu which was very ordinary, the decor and above all with only one exception the indifference of the staff. How this can be classified as an AA 4 star is beyond me.More
