We called in on the off chance of a Sunday lunch, 45 minutes before the end of food service, politely asked if food was still available, only for a hostile and rude response from a tattooed, hipster-esque male behind the bar, after being told abruptly...More

So wet and horrible night staying in Torquay and needed food and beers somewhere that allowed dogs. Quick call to the Kents confirmed dog friendly and a table available in the bar. Arrived and nearly walked out again when we saw the football on the...More

What a dissapointment! Table booked for evening through to midnight in quiet part of restaurant. On arrival you couldn’t hear yourself speak for the shear volume of the DJ. Also many young children running around the tables and management seemed to ignore the fact. We...More

Another great meal at the Kents, we arrived an hour before our table was booked but they were as usual very accommodating. The food was brilliant as always, as was the service. Our favourite place in Wellswood

If only the food lived up to the descriptions in the menu. The lasagne was a disgrace, the chef has not a clue how to serve it, instead of a tomato sauce surrounding the lasagne in a deep dish , it was just a dry...More

We had lunch here in a cold, wet and windy wintry day. The pub was nice, cosy and warm. The light lunch fish and chips was tasty and the fish was fresh. Service was prompt. I had a very nice light meal in a pleasant...More

Have eaten at the Kents a few times and always had a pretty good time. Would've liked to have taken my in-laws to visit and celebrated my birthday at the same time. They are on holiday and can't leave the dog alone unless he's in...More

good service, hot food (but comes with none or little veg) attentive waitress. tables slightly too close together as we were drowned by some else’s conversation. try and pick your table if you can.

Have eaten here in previous years and was pleased to see standards maintained. Chose fish and chips which was very good and the apple tart could have done with a little bit more apple but was good. Lovely atmosphere and reasonably priced.
