Friends brought us to this beautiful restaurant in a small town in northeast Italy for an impromptu lunch. The food was excellent and the owners made us feel very much at home. Everything on the menu is either home grown or home made The gnocchi...were like clouds and the tomato sauce out of this world. This was truly a wonderful experience.More

Being here a second time, this time with family, I can confirm the high quality of this restaurant. The hosts are very friendly and the food is really something. Among all I suggest the "Gallo" (roster) and "Coniglio in tecia" (rabbit in a pan) but...the "risotto alle erbe" (rice with herbs) was excellent too. If someone travels in this area, this restaurant is a must. I'm sorry I didn't try it before...More

This for me is what eating local food is all about in Italy. Going to places that locals go to and where traditions of local foods are kept alive. You may not have a menu but rely on the recommendations of the host and what...is in season. Fantastic food, host and hospitality.More

This was the second time I had been to this restaurant - I was there last year. The food was equally as good this year as last and the three friends who hadn't been commented that it was one of the very best meals they...had ever eaten... and they have eaten a few!! Prosecco to liven our palate followed by fresh salami then Porcini and Pigeon used in sauces for gnocchi and pasts, quail and rabbit, dessert, fabulous wine and excellent service. What else can I say? If thou are in the area then you must go!More

Tartufo, piccione, gnocchi, radicchio, ricotta, polenta, coniglio, prosecco et vino rosso... This is only the beginning of our experience here - wow, what an afternoon! Tucked away in a tiny village in Meduno, La Stella brings to life all the flavours of the region, along...with the experiences as shared by the brothers who own this gorgeous restaurant. We were lucky to have been brought here by locals and it was very difficult leaving the toasty fire, constant flow of prosecco and stories of "Antonio the rabbit". If you are by chance in this area, I highly highly highly recommend a visit. You will not be disappointed either in value for money, taste or experience.More
