We were staying for two nights Lousa during a tour of Portugal and decided to visit this lovely little restaurant. The menu is online only which is becoming more common in this Covid era. We had homemade bread and olives, the Alheira croquets to share and then the Chanfana ( goat stew) with potatoes and greens and the Lamb chops with a medley of pulses and veg. All were cooked really well and the food was plentiful. The waiter was very knowledgable with the extensive wine list and helped us choose a great bottle. He was also very happy to chat with us about the restaurant and surrounding area. The night we visited was midweek a little quiet and consequently not much atmosphere but the food and staff made up for it. I would definitely recommend

This restaurant was recommended by locals and it did not disappoint!!!! We had Chafana, steak with a port wine cream sauce, lamb chops and coconut curry prawns. Our waiter Ruben explained the dishes and the history of each, gave recommendations and all were incredibly delicious. A family restaurant where his mother is the chef, was the best food we have had in Portugal. Don’t miss the almond dessert!

We had two wonderful dinners at this fantastic restaurant. Everything was full of flavours and the staff were professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The wine is really nice as well and the prices are very reasonable for the quality! Don't miss!

This was a surprise - we found this restaurant a block from our hotel and it turned out not be a winner. The manager was very gracious and friendly and helped us pick out a delicious Portuguese white wine to go with our meal. The wine list is excellent and informative - do not miss it as it has explanations on all the different wine regions in Portugal. I had a fantastic seafood dish of cod served over homemade polenta. My partner had a great salad and we also shared some excellent cheese as an appetizer. Everything looked good on the menu so it was hard to choose. Overall, I’d say it was delicious Portuguese cuisine served up well.

Went with a party of five to have dinner. The menu is rather limited but the quality of the food served here is great. Starters to share were amazing and the main courses were succulent.Try the country style octopus stew...you will not regret it. Wine lovers have a choice of 60 different wines. Do not hesitate to ask for advise, Very friendly and professional service in a no nonsense style. If you are in Lousa, go and discover this little gem.

Consider booking your table as the room is not large. Most of the items are good interpretations of Portuguese typical recipes. We fully enjoyed them. For wine experts there is a conspicuous wine list. Service was efficient. The value for money was good in my point of view.

This is a little hidden gem under the careful supervision of Reuben, the maitre D & sommelier. Apparently his mother is in the back cooking! Including recipes from his grandmother! We enjoyed the Migas de Bacalhau - a sort of codfish stew - and the prawns curry. Also recommend the sheppard's orange salad. Let Reuben recommend a wine and then get it - he knows best. And don't leave without sampling the Pao de Rala cake. It's big & orange & moist & delicious.

My wife and I went for a date night dinner. We were greeted when we entered and sat immediately. The Owner, lead waiter, and Chef took our drink order, food order, and checked in with us after food was delivered. Service was great. More importantly, the food was off the charts good. Curry prawns and Octopus and bean stew in a bread bowl. Exceptional!

Pleasant atmosphere with amazing food. Had the Alheira Croqets, scrambled eggs, and local queijo & chorico platter for appetizers. Then we had the chanfana. Meat was so tender that you could barely get it out of the cazuela as it was just falling apart. Dessert of Torta de Laranja (orange cake roll with ice cream) and regional Sheep Cheese Ice cream was delicious. A very good find and well worth any trip.

It was all perfect. There was 4 in our party. We had 3 appetizers and loved them all! We all ordered a different main to try as many of the entrees as possible, they were all spectacular. Though we were all very full we pushed thru and ordered 2 wonderful desserts and they were the perfect finish to a wonderful dinner and evening. The service was beyond exceptional. Highly recommend.

After exploring the charming slate villages in the Lousã mountain range, our visit to this restaurant turned out to be a memorable success. We were received with exceptional hospitality and benefited from the gastronomic knowledge of the owner, who offered us unbeatable recommendations. We delighted in a magnificent dish of wild boar and a traditional mountain recipe based on goat meat, paired perfectly with a Portuguese sparkling wine served at its optimal point.

I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. The place has an airy, spacious, calm atmosphere. Table service was discrete but attentive, and all the servers went out of their way to be helpful. And the food itself was excellent: a somewhat unusual menu for the area, but all beautifully prepared and presented. We all loved our food! If you're at all tempted by the menu (you can find it on their website), definitely give Villa Lausana a try. You won't be disappointed.

Restaurant in the center of the villa, with many pretensions, but nothing special. We chose wild boar with chestnuts and wild mushrooms and the cod dish. Nothing special. We really liked the wine that was suggested, as if it were the house wine, although they said there was no house wine. Quite expensive quality/taste/price ratio.

An upmarket, rather expensive, restaurant. Modern, bright and airy. Classic Portuguese kitchen. Starter of "Alheira croquettes (although slightly dry) with mustard /dijonnaise" is a good idea. This should be available throughout Portugal as a snack! Wines good. Deserts just OK but main course left a lot to be desired. Cabrito hard and dry with more bones than meat and the portion was rather small. Steak just all right but why with fries and not something more exciting? Staff friendly but all in all too expensive for what it is.

A quiet place with plenty of space to be at ease, quiet atmosphere, good background music. Sympathy well above average. The olive oil taste entry wonderful (one or the other bread scratched a bit) but mostly good. The meat thirsty dish was tasty (missed attention to the request that had been badly passed, and did not come so) the potatoes and the meadows a wonder. Did not try the desserts because the kids started to get impatient. Fair prices, not cheap but fair.
