A delightful experience from start to finish. We were a party of four and all agreed this was a wonderful lunch. The maitre'd Massi took great care to make sure we felt very welcome guests and we watched him expertly doing the same with all...the other tables - a lovely touch. Great food beautifully presented, a relaxed atmosphere, attentive service. Fun journey by ferry from Venice to Burano. Give yourself an hour to wander around this beautiful little island before you dine.More

We spent the afternoon and evening of our first day in Venice visiting the beautiful island of Burano. As evening arrived we decided to stay and have dinner and take a later ferry back to Venice. We happened upon Gatto Nero and decided to give...it a try. Even though we did not have a reservation, they accommodated our family of three. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious and well presented. Our waiter was engaging, the atmosphere was very comfortable, and the dinner was our best while in Venice.More

A trip to Burano primarily to enjoy Sunday lunch at highly recommended Black cat ended in disappointment. Two stars for a wonderful aceto balsamico and the you get waiter’s attempt to serve us pleasantly. Having booked weeks in advance, the arrival was surprising unwelcoming. Arrogance...and negligence gave an unpleasant rustede atmosphere. Servings with one Word “prego”, No introduktion or presentation. Unfortunately, Burano is Nice, but the comours did not compendste Washington a Sundsy in Venice at a Disappointing restaurant.More

Absolutely fantastic food, best we’ve ever tried in Venice. The only problem is to get to Burano (taxi cost around 120 euros one way), but believe us: it worth it!!! Increasingly food, super fresh seafood and fish, amazing stuff! Must visit! Can’t wait to come...back!More

Gatto Nero review To start I would like to say that contrary to the documented experiences and Michelin guide reviews i will say from an honest diplomatic view point this was immensely underwhelming. I think the internet has “over hyped” this as an insanely important...culinary experience which it is not. As a person who has been to “il Gatto Nero” I will say the food and service was adequate although it didn’t really live up to the reviews and standards. Do not go here expecting the best as the only big thing you will have from this is a hole in your wallet. Ps: the head chef seemed aggressively “Interested” towards younger and attractive womenMore

After watching Fred Sirieix rave about the Gatto Nero in Burano, Italy, I booked a table 2 months prior to going. I have been excited for the past 2 months but am sad to say I had nothing to be excited about. We were tended...to by no less than 5 waiters - all very sweet and courteous, but when it came time for our meals - we were 4 dining together - it took a good 10 minutes from first to last meal to be served, due to confusion about who was doing what. The coveted Risotto alla Buranella, was a dry, slightly saw dusty affair that left me with little to no impression of the terroir (freshest of the fresh seafood) we were in. My son had a spaghetti vongole, which he dryly commented he had had better at the Garda Lake - a no name trattoria with red plastic chairs. I will be giving that place a star rating! Burano is a bit of a trek to get to and I would have liked to have said it was well worth it. It was not.More

We had the Risotto alla buranese which was incredibly tasty! The terrace by the canal was like an oasis, offering shadow and breeze in a hot day, and the waiters were extremely helpful and kind.

From the beginning, a wainter served a glass of prosecco while waiting for a table (Always full restaurant and you need to do a reservation at least 30 mins before when you cross it by), amazing, delicious food, the best sea food I’ve ever eaten...in the world, so fresh and tasty it’s even hard to describe, amazing wines and really classy waiters with high class maners, absolutely the best choice in Burano and one of the best seafood restaurants I’ve been to with local surrounding. I absolutely recommend it even if you need to travel from Venice !More
