We have been to Luxe often. I love their front patio in the summer. This evening, there were a few larger parties having dinner, we were 2 and I was allowed to select a different table than the one offered. There were only 2 wait...staff but they hustled and did their best, but things are not as attentive as they could be but better than other restaurants I have been to lately service-wise. We had the kale Caesar which I think I prefer a regular Caesar but maybe kale is cheaper these days! The calamari is tasty but too much fried breading for me. The steak was delicious and my friend enjoyed the shoestring fries. I will eat any fry but prefer thicker ones. My martini was wonderful and our wine was served at a good temperature. They did keep trying to take away the wine list though! Considering we were there to see a table turnover 3x, we needed the wine list and obviously enjoyed ourselves.More

I go regularly and enjoy the consistently great food and service. The new items are mostly successful. The scallops are wonderful although the deep fried Brussels leaves were overdone and chewy. The oysters are consistently spectacular! Plating is superb and the service is wonderful

Our Wedding- September 30, 2022 We had the pleasure of having our wedding at Luxe on September 30th of this year. After searching and looking at many similar venues in Ottawa (ie. upscale trendy restaurants), we knew Luxe was the right fit from the second...we were in contact with them. No hidden fees, no ridiculous restrictions...their only goal was to help us create our dream wedding. Our main contact and coordinator extraordinaire was Laila Gowe. We live out of province so we needed someone who was trustworthy, could help us make decisions from a distance and who could guide us through the 1000s of questions you would have when planning a wedding. We were able to meet through Zoom, and countless emails to create the perfect day. The lead up and planning was seamless. She was always willing to answer every question honestly to help guide us toward our vision. This led to our dream day. The decor of the space is already so trendy and gorgeous, nothing needs to be done to the space whatsoever. Laila did the tables with decor I had dropped off, exactly to my vision. I didn't even SEE the venue in person until 10 minutes before the ceremony, and not one thing was out of place. My vision had come to life. Everything she promised was exactly as is. I could not have asked for a better wedding. The guests could not get over the quality of the food, whether it was chicken, steak, fish or pasta. Everything was cooked to perfection. The portions were so generous that I almost regret bringing in a late night snack because my guests were so satisfied with our Luxe meal. The wine we chose was great, appetizers and cocktails were delicious and the staff was amazing. During the dinner and reception, Neil took care of everything. He made sure the dinner service meshed seamlessly with speeches. Long speeches, might I add. The meal was as if it was cooked seconds before plated and served. I quite literally had the best day ever. Thank you, Luxe and your team!!!More

This used to be a good place for brunch, but not today. The brunch menu was very small. The Eggs Benedict had 2 strips of regular bacon rather than back bacon, and no Hollandaise sauce. It was basically a Tim Hortons breakfast sandwich for $20....It was rubbish and I would have sent it back, but I didn't want to embarrass my friends. Maybe the place just had an off day, but I won't be coming back, and I've been warning my friends to also avoid it.More

Great food, cooked to perfection. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and was delicious, as were the mashed potatoes. The lamb shank for also delicious as was the shrimp sandwich. The service was excellent despite them being really busy and quite short staffed -...they were all still really pleasant and attentive. The cocktails were also delicious and they have many great wine options too.More

LUXE Bistro offers a warm and welcoming environment with amazing food and exceptional service. Our first visit here. Immediately seated at a relaxing booth (with nice safe separation from other patrons). Our server Fred was great - always available but let us relax and enjoy...our drinks, app, and meal. The electric squid are to die for and definitely one of the best I’ve eaten. Another one of our favourites is the baked goat cheese appetizer. The apps will file you up and you may not have room for a full main course. We usually...split the main course. The service is always great with Trevor, George’s or Brooke. Had a corporate event there, the service was top notch, the food was excellent. Their appetizers - we had caesar salad, tuno crudo and baked goat cheese - were delicious and the portions were very generous - they could have been half the size and...we would have been happy. Our mains were the 8-oz filet mignon, organic chicken and mushroom cavatelli - all were sublime. You HAVE to have the blueberry creme brulee - to die for! We will definitely come back!More

The quality of food at Luxe was AMAZING, worth the cost for sure, the service was friendly and fast. Would definitely go back here again.

Maybe I'm asking too much of a brunch bistro...I'm no stranger to waiting for a good mean but is it too much to ask for a friendly smile on a Sunday afternoon? Our meals were a sad state of presentation. Salt and pepper shakers were...reverse...anyone make that mistake? I rarely have a bad experience at a restaurant yet i left here with a very sour disposition. Gross food with surly staff...save yourself the trouble and find a street vendor or a coffee shop instead!More

Make sure you make a reservation if you don’t want to be disappointed. The restaurant is lovely with great window views to people watch in the Byward Market. Although we didn’t eat a lot, the steak and frites were amazing along with the wine. A...definite go to if you’d like a great steak and excellent service!More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Our waitress was very friendly and engaging. Food was delicious (steak sandwich and cod, then creme brulee for dessert). My only minor complaint was that we were the first people in the restaurant. We were seated...at a table for 2 in the middle of the restaurant. A few minutes later a party of 4 arrived and were seated next to us. In this era of Covid, wouldn't it have made a lot more sense to space people out more? Next time we dine here I will request a window table so that we are far removed from other patrons.More
