From out of town, we had our friends join us for our 25th anniversary dinner. We all had appetizers, which were all a wonderful start to a beautiful dinner. Mains were to die for. The flavours were out of this world. The ambiance was perfect...and the service extraordinary!More

This place has a very smart and talented chef! Many layers of amazing flavour in every dish, and just smart flavour choices overall. The lobster bisque was creamy and nutty and hit all the right spots, and was compliments of the chef. The duck duo...I had as a main was cooked very well, and the black garlic sauce had an earthy punch that paired well with the glaze. There was also ravioli that was included that was also fantastic. I also sampled my wife’s dish which was halibut cooked absolutely perfectly, and also came with fried clams, Yukon gold potatoes and a thick tartar type sauce with mint included. The mint added an awesome freshness that paired well with the acidity of the sauce. Lovely romantic atmosphere and wonderful service from Michael who checked in at the perfect appropriate times and gave us the right amount of privacy, as well as attending to our needs. Great service, and one of the best meals I’ve ever had this place is an absolute must. We will definitely be back!More

Can't understand how I have not heard about Little Louis' before?! I guess they probably don't have to advertise because they are that good. We parked across the street because the parking ot was full and took the elevatopr up to this second floor resataurant....Wow. The amuse boche of lobster bisque was fantastic, with a dlicate balance of flavours that blew me away. I don't even like lobster, but I LOVED this bisque!!! The caesar salad had lobster knuckles in it with pork cubes - a very nice take on a caesar. Very nice. I also had a steak that I don't see on their online menu; it was on a bed of rib meat and was absolutely perfect; crispy exterior and pink in the middle. The chocolate dessert with mousse, whipped cream and a sort of meringue wafer was light and made me want to order a second. Really. I live for these kinds of desserts! This was not a meal, it was a beautiful dining experience I won't soon forget. Our server was phenomenal too.More

Better than even the reviews promised! Incredible food!!! As a solo traveller, I felt welcome and the waitress (unfortunately can’t remember her name), deserves so much praise - she was so helpful with her menu selections! Absolutely a must if you are looking for fine...dinner in Moncton. PS - only fine dining venue open on Tuesday!More

For the second year in a row, we traveled a couple of hours to Moncton, primarily to go to this restaurant, to celebrate our anniversary. We did the tasting menu, each course delivered as a delightful surprise, with wine pairing. And, as was true last...year, it was a really fine meal. Particular standout courses included the baked oysters which got a bit of a Japanese treatment, with nori and a hot spice (shichimi togarashi?) and green onion, the lamb rib, and, especially, the house smoked salmon dish (maybe one of the best things I have ever tasted -- incredible). Very capable server, had been there 11 years, knew answers to every question we asked, and patiently answered them without ever seeming rushed. Do not miss this place. I've eaten at really fine restaurants all over the world, and this place is the real deal.More

Overall, a bit of a let down as we were disappointed with the fish and beef entrees. The bass had an amazing coating and great flavour. Unfortunately, the “chip” in the “fish and chip” was almost literal - 5 french fries. They were very disappointing...and completely unremarkable. The beef, blue dot PEI, was actually tough and hard to chew. This is not what we expected for the price or the reputation. The rest of the meal was very good but the waitress appeared to be trying too hard and said silly things. We will have to think about returning at the prices they charge. We rate it 3.5 out of 5 but know they are often better.More

Pasta and sea bass outstanding. Our server, Veronique, was wonderful. Her description and answering questions about our food, enhanced our first visit. We will definitely be back with friends and ask for Veronique. Thank you for a great experience and our compliments to the chef...and his team. Presentation was beautiful and a nice touch with the lobster bisque soup. Thank you again, and look forward to next visit. Kim and MarshaMore

Little Louis' lived up to it's promise and the food was to die for. Our server couldn't have been more attentive and so very pleasant, describing each meal in wonderful detail. Every plate was scraped clean. Some may say it may be on the pricey...side , but it was well worth it. We will be returning.More

Buttered lobster pasta was delicious, but the stale chocolate caramel molten cake was simply terrible. Why serve old, stale desserts? Ambiance was great. No real value for money with a substandard meal.

Food was okay - I don’t think this type of menu is my scene. The Caesar salad was good. Scallop appetizer was good. The disappointing factor was the waiter. He didn’t ask if we wanted drinks and didn’t check on us often - it was...empty really as we were there at 5pm. I asked if I could have a beer and when he took my empty he didn’t ask if I would like another....More

I've lived in Fredericton (for two years), frequented Saint John, been spending summers in Saint Andrews for the last 16 years, been to Shediac, and I have never encountered another restaurant anything like Little Louis' in this province. This kind of restaurant -- where the...chef actually invents dishes, by creatively combining local ingredients -- is rare even in Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver. It's actually more like restaurants in, say, Copenhagen (where I lived until 2016, and visit frequently). In a lot of Canadian restaurants, you'll find an excellent version of a traditional dish, maybe a leg of lamb or beef tenderloin. Or an Asian fusion version of something, like a salmon fillet. All good stuff. But I've struggled to find places in Canada, like we used to love in Copenhagen, where they can bring you seven dishes, each of which have to be fully presented and described in terms of ingredients, because they are original conceptions. Little Louis's is that kind of restaurant. This place is reason all by itself to come to Moncton. The location is unassuming; the aesthetic from the outside is strictly North American strip mall. But once you emerge from the elevator inside, you're in a completely different place. We tried the tasting menu, and wines by the glass (there was a wine menu, but 7 x 3 ounces of wine sounded glorious, but like too much - recommendation: how about 3-5 and 7 wine menus?); the waitress helped us with wines without giving a way too much about what was coming. Every course was a delightful surprise, and some were spectacular. The Atlantic Char with a beet crust, sun chokes, and appropriate sauces was a particular standout. I'm not a huge fan of scallops, but the scallops with pork belly etc. was also startling. This will be a restaurant destination for us from now on. The Chandler Room at the Treadwell in Saint Andrews is in the same league, as is the Rossmont, though it's not nearly as creative. Make a point of going to Louis'. It's really excellent.More
