We popped in for a late lunch with 2 littles (both age 9) and Kenzie was the most amazing server /bartender I’ve had in years!! She not only looked to be the only server for the entire afternoon, she was attentive and more accommodating than...I’ve ever experienced. She was friendly and forward thinking. Bank and Baron has never disappointed so I can’t wait to return but Kenzie was the highlight for sure.More

Very cool place eat small menu but food is very good and very reasonable. We had a trio of bruschetta to start and my wife had a steak and fries and I had the mushroom pasta. Such a unique old bank

The surroundings are very nice and just a little different as it is an old bank. We both had steaks and we agreed that the food was amongst the best we have had in a while. Sadly the food was let down with the speed...of service. Perhaps it was lack of staff as none of the staff were standing around. I wondered what I'm t would be like if it was busyMore

Great spot to eat on 8th ave on the street. Hostess and server were good. Food was decent and you get to eat while watching first responders administer narcan regularly.

Went on a busy Friday night. They were good to arrange tables for a group. Service was good, food was equally good. The one downside wax the noise deafening music insde and even loud outside, with external loudspeakers.

I read the reviews before we visited Calgary and the food reviews weren’t bad but also not great. We wanted to visit the establishment all the same as the historic building looked beautiful, it was our first night after just flying in from London and...we weren’t disappointed with the drinks, service or food, it was all exceptional. Our server was enthusiastic, knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, she was friendly and it was just what we needed. Perfect.More

Had the Pesto gnocchi and it was very soft and delicious (though I am always looking for chewy gnocchi). I do like their pesto sauce. It's not a very big portion, so it's on the pricey side. The portion was good for me, but others...may find that a big small.More

We liked this place well enough to make a return visit. The service was a bit slow but not enough to make me leave. We had appetizers (steak bites, soba noodles, flatbread). Skip the flatbread and go for the steak bites and soba noodles. Beer...was reasonably priced and happy hour is 3-6 everydayMore

I was in Calgary for a conference at Telus Convention Centre. This is a convenient location for a quick lunch. However, the service was really terrible. Waited for a menu for half an hour upon sitting in. Then another 45 min for the meal. To...not miss my PM meeting, I have to pack the lunch to go, and eat a cold steak during break, which tastes like wax. Just miserable experience.More

Went for dinner to this location that we discovered during our afternoon walk in the downtown core. Arrived just in time for the last rounds of Happy Hour, good prices. Ordered the nacho plate & fish & chips. The nachos were not very good, too...many chips not enough toppings, would not recommend at this establishment. Really enjoyed the ambiance of the old establishment being a financial institution building. We had a really long day with flight, walking & settling into our hotel so did not make it a long evening but would have enjoyed watching the game more & cold cocktails. Service was quite good, polite & courteous young waitress. Shall visit again but skip the nacho order!More

Eating anything but pub food in a pub can lead to a terrible dinner. The hamburgers, fries, wings received rave reviews. The steaks were so tough it was difficult to chew. The poke bowl was ok. It was incredible noisy as well. However, our waiter...was very nice.More

Architecturally the atmosphere is stunning. The waitress was pleasant and professional, helpful - but not overly engaging. For a PUB, the beer selection was rather limited. Ordered their nachos. I can't recommend it. Lots of chips - very little topping. Rather bland and tasteless.

My colleague called in March to make a reservation for a group dinner in April. When she called to modify the number in our party they couldn’t find our reservation. She made a new one. When we arrived for dinner, they couldn’t find our reservation....How do you lose a reservation twice? They managed to squeeze us in by shuffling some other guests around. The food was disappointing, no one in my group enjoyed their meal. My steak was so tough (even hard to cut) I only managed to eat half, the pizzas all looked exactly the same (overdone on top) whether they were vegetarian or loaded with meat. The drinks were decent. The building is beautiful but that’s not a good enough reason to recommend this place.More

We hosted our Company's Christmas party at the Bank and Baron Pub in Calgary Downtown. Adam, the event's manager, has been so helpful with bookings. The venue was beautiful but perhaps a bit cold. The servers were very alert and did an amazing job with...bringing out the platters on time and serving our staff. Overall, we had a great experience! Thanks to the great team!More

Saw this pub on Pinterest. Visiting from Ontario. Absolutely first class chef - his food is excellent and the beef so tender. Wish this could be my local bar/restaurant but have to head home. Visited twice in the week and waitress at the bar even...remembered both our drinks and Happy Hour orders. Now that is hard to beat. Love the staff service food and ambience in old bank building is above par. Calgary ... you are soooo lucky to have this place. Support it. Enjoy it. Keep it open.More
