Had a lovely time with my daughter in Kilbeggan chocolates and coffee bar. The lady Pauline made us feel so welcome. We ordered hot chocolates and cakes which were delicious! We were waiting on our hubbies to come back from the kilbeggan distillery and it was a cold day so we enjoyed the warm welcome and food. Thanks again Pauline!

WOW - talk about customer service & friendly people dining here. Sandwiches and coffee were great, but the experience we had here was impressive. Another couple talked with us as we waited for our food. After they left, the owner pulled up a chair and chatted with us as we dined. Two more customers came in and they all gave us great trips for the proper way to drink a Guinness (apparently it takes YEARS of practice). Chocolates were tasty too. Great way to spend an hour on a Sunday afternoon before doing our distillery tour!

A lovely artisan cafe and chocolatier sitting on the banks of the Brosna river and across the river from the Kilbeggan Distillery. Dine (or snack) to the aroma of fresh chocolate and the murmur of the nearby river at a site in the midlands of Ireland that has been a source of good food and drink since the Bronze Age! Highly recommended.

We stopped for a quick bite to eat and were not disappointed. The products are simple but very good and the service is fast. The welcome was very friendly, we had barely walked through the door with our baby when a high chair was installed. The only negative point is the storefront which should not be trusted.

Popped in for my breakfast, before I started my long hike on the Westmeath way Wasn't sure it was open, but it was and ordered a small Irish breakfast, which in fact was more or less like an ordinary irish breakfast. I can only imagine what the large irish breakfast was like.....good sized portions in any case, and a nice large pot of tea to wash all the good food down. Nice, and served quick too! The café seems to double up as a chocolate shop, where all kinds of chocolates were on offer. I ordered some dark chocolates for my mum.... Nice enough place, food was good and the place was interesting. The only negative is that it could do more with the décor and the exterior....... make it more inviting, as its not obvious when you walk by whats on offer inside........ Interesting place for a gander

The coffee cake was good but it seemed as if it was bought in from the local supermarket. The same goes for the apple pie. Reading other reviews, perhaps we chose badly! The coffees were excellent.

Nice owner and offered some free samples. Bought some Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey candy. Nice location to stand outside by the creek and see the distillery.

I had tasted the chocolate a few years before and wanted to buy more to take back to the states. Walked in to the smell of freshly made chocolate and while deciding which to buy, had a scone and tea. Kilbeggan chocolate is my idea of heaven and worth a stop if you are anywhere in Ireland.

Lovely owners, great welcome. We had freshly made sandwiches, plenty of tea and chat...it was a lovely stop off before our whiskey tour next door.

We first found the Kilbeggan chocolate at a stand in Temple Bar at the Saturday market. Bought some with whisky ganache and plain milk and dark chocolate. Tried other chocolate and decided we like this the best. While on way to Dublin from Galway, we made the stop to check out their location and stocked up on chocolates to take home. Definitely worth a visit!

Coming from the country of chocolates, Belgium, we didn't expect to taste chocolates while in Ireland. We did a stopover at Kilbeggan distillery. We missed the guided tour so we looked around there ourselves and then wanted to eat something. A staff pointed us to this café, instead of the distillery café. We had lunch with soup and sandwiches and then bought a selection of their home made chocolates which was absolutely delicious (yes, was... it's all gone now). :-)
