I had to travel to Mexico and stay here before I travel on to the US due to COVID. My trip has been one of the worst I have ever had until I found this restaurant. You have to go there at 4 to book for that evening, as long as you are there about 30min early and can be flexible you won’t be disappointed. I was lucky enough to eat here more than once and I can say it is one of the best places I have eaten. The staff are amazing, it is like a well oiled machine. You are treated like royalty, every course is explained to you, and the presentation is seconded to none. What I did not expect was how good the food would be. I have been lucky enough to travel the world, and the food here was up there for me. For what you pay to stay at this hotel you would pay for one night eating at a restaurant like this in the UK.
Quite simply this restaurant made every bad part of my trip fade completely into the background. Worth the few min queuing to book.
If you are at this hotel don’t miss the opportunity to eat here.

Great spot if you like seafood with a view. Not to mention the wonderful people working there Antonio the manager is super nice, Anali welcomes you with a great smile, Wilbert, Thomas, Paulino and Esteban are amazing waiters who are just super pleasant regardless of how busy they are, they take their time at making recomendations. After lunch we go back to the beach where super Silvia "superwomen" takes care of our orders with the most welcoming attitude, just because of this crew I will go back to the Pyramid hotel :-)

This restaurant was breathtaking from the moment i walked in! Great atmosphere great music and very very helpful and friendly staff. Miguel, Marcos, Andres and Fidel gave an outstanding experience for this restaurant. But none more than the chef Elias, the food was incredible and definitely memorable. I had ordered the lamb which was amazing in taste and quality and that was followed by the great and sweet tasting desert called “ Symphony“. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone staying at Grand Oasis Palm. And When you do happen to stumble across this place enjoy!

As of December 2019, there are now two Careyes restaurants with the renovation of Grand Oasis Sens and unfortunately it seems like the quality has suffered as, according to one of the waiters, they split the staff between the two restaurants.
This review is for the original Careyes at Grand Oasis. The restaurant is only open for lunch and out of my three visits, only one was quality.
Visit #1 - undercooked
Visit #2 - perfect
Visit #3 - overcooked
They were out of fish and asparagus all three times. The house wine was disgusting.
That tomahawk steak everyone was raving about in prior reviews is no longer on the menu.
That said, the calamari, bouillabaisse and most of the side dishes were excellent. Hopefully, this is just kinks and things will be fixed as I would consider going to this hotel again.

Horrible and completely unprofessional experience trying to book a reservation here for my birthday. We called several weeks AND days ahead of time to get a reservation and we were informed that they only take same day reservations and to call at 3pm the day of. We called at 2:58pm on August 27th, my birthday, and we were told to arrive in person at 4pm to make a reservation for the evening. We arrived at 4pm and no one was there, and the hotel itself told us that we had to have called before 3pm in order to get a reservation? The hotel staff then notified us that they had already been fully booked for the night and furthermore they don't take reservations for the restaurant from guests not staying at this hotel. We called again and the person who answered the phone said we need to be on-site to book the restaurant. We told them we were actually there, and they said if the restaurant is closed that means they're not taking reservations anymore. We followed their rules to try to eat here, and were given the runaround. No matter how good the food is, being treated like this is not worth it, especially when the system they have in place for actually eating there is actively hostile towards potential people wanting to give them business. To make it even worse, one of the reasons we chose Cancun for my birthday, in particular, was for THIS restaurant. We did as much research as we could to be accommodating to the restaurant's system and this treatment was truly awful.

We visited the Careyes Restaurante during our family vacation to Mexico. We were extremely surprised to find such a hidden gem in the Grand Oasis Resort, as the other restaurants did not impress. Our waiter Esteban and his partner Paulino were amazing and allowed us to try anything from the wonderful surf and turf menu- the ambience was also beautiful. Definately Recommended- you will leave happy!!

This is the best place we ate at the resort. The food is incredible, perfect portions and and the view is amazing.
Our server Esteban was amazing, always had our drinks topped up , was friendly and kind, and never over bearing. The manager Antonio was always on hand with a friendly smile and good conversation. The food cooked by the chef Esteban was so delicious, beautifully presented and perfectly sized!
I had shrimp cocktail, calamari, filet mingon , garlic shrimp, oyster Rockefeller, rib eye, grilled asparagus and more in my two meals there and it was all FABULOUS!!
Our only complain was finding this place on our last two days. However once we did we ate there everyday!

This was an incredible dinner. From the presentation, to the incredible taste and the service given. Hugo, my waiter, was very helpful in explaining in detail menu items and making sure everything was taken careof. There treats in between were a great addition. Highly recommend.

We’ve stayed here two weeks and unfortunately found this place 5 days ago. We’ve come every night since, because it is unmatched for a dinner experience. They have a dress code because odds are the dishes will look better than you, and your taste bud will agree. Andre is an amazing manger, Marco and Fidel are outstanding servers, and Elias is a Picasso in the kitchen.

One of the , most top-notch service and food experience we have ever had. The maître d’ met us at the door and explain to us the cost, which at first I thought it was extremely high, not considering the peso exchange to the US dollar. I thought it was going to cost about $300 for me and my wife, which also included Unlimited house, wine, appetizer Soup entrée and dessert. total restaurant seating is only 33, so you are getting personal service from the entire staff. Yes it is completely gourmet and basically a work of art is what this food is. The taste were extraordinary and completely different from the usual fare in the end. The total cost ended up being $165 including tip for both me and my wife, for this extraordinary experience in culinary fare!!

The food, presentation and service are superb. The French and Mexican fusion cuisine is very creatively created. My personal favorites are the artic (salmon tartare), Falso Jardin soup, Bak’ and Rouge for desert. We appreciate Andres, Marco, Fidel, Julian, and Chef Elias for these wonderful gourmet meal and great hospitality.

Wilbert and Raul went above and beyond with our service. The apps, main entrees, and dessert were all amazing. When I wanted my steak cooked more, they had no problem accommodating. They made our friend feel so special for her birthday with complimentary champagne, and more!! I ordered the salmon appetizer, New York steak entree with mushroom risotto and seasoned veggies. (Everything was delicious. I also tried my friends good which was all freaking incredible).
We were sooo disappointed with the other restaurants we have been to during our stay, which made this experience incredibly more surprising. I have never had such quality service, quality food, and quality memories at a restaurant before. Leaving with a full belly, and a full heart đź’›

We ate here 2 times. They remembered our drink order the second night. The Carne asada taco appetizer were the best asada tacos I have ever tasted. The waiters were so funny and nice. They seemed like one big family (and they definitely loved to play around and joke like a family does). We were served by Uriel, Wilbert, Raul, Gabriel, but we felt like everyone just was a team. They made you feel like you were the only guests there, made sure everything was perfect. At the end they gave my husband and I a special ending for our 20th anniversary. I highly recommend this place. Get the Carne asada tacos as your appetizer, and the cheesecake as your dessert! And definitely if you are a single lady in your 40s or 50s, make sure you meet Gabriel, he is quite the lady's man!

The service was amazing from start to finish. The food was not only beautiful but tasted really good too....most fancy foods look amazing but do not taste good at all. This place is the total opposite, you won’t regret eating here. I’m thinking of going back at least one more time before I leave the resort. I want to thank the staff for being so amazing, they all made me feel like royalty. Thanks again Marco, Fidel, Andres and Chef Elias.

If you are staying at the Pyramid or get the black bracelet, this is the best place for lunch. Amazing seafood for both appetizers and main courses. If you don’t like seafood, get the various steaks. Service matches the excellent food. Out of the 6 meals I had here, the only one that was sub-par was when they were busy and I ate outside on a cloudy day. Esteban provided excellent service every time and kept well ahead of my drink needs with whatever I could want. I would recommend dining inside whenever possible. The fried calamari is a must order, as well as the oysters at natural if you enjoy them. They do have trouble seating large parties so be prepared to split up if necessary and follow their minimal dress code.
