A group of us (8 adults) had dinner at this beautiful and historic restaurant... all of the servers were running around the restaurant trying to take orders, deliver food and please every-customer... They were all very friendly and helpful but they were under-staff. After we finished dinner half of our group liked the food and half didn’t.
It is definitely a beautiful restaurant and all the servers do their best to please everyone. Every time we visit Guadalajara we go and have dinner at this beautiful restaurant.

We knew this restaurant was highly rated but I’ve never been there before we were greeted by a friendly waiter. The whole restaurant is something to just sit and look around at. Beautiful plants everywhere beautifully decorated. The entertainment was nonstop,mariachis, Ranchero singers , bird fortune tellers and flamenco dancing. Overall I’d say the food was rated about a four but everything else about the restaurant was outstanding and so I give it a five rating. in the same space are four other restaurants which look amazing as well and will be trying to future.

I had an exceptional dining experience at La casa de los platos, and it all began with the warm and welcoming staff. Our server, Abraham, was not only attentive but also incredibly friendly. His excellent suggestions added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal, and one recommendation, in particular, stood out – the Lobo Cocktail.
I mentioned my preference for bitter cocktails over sweeter ones, and Abraham suggested the Lobo Cocktail, which turned out to be a brilliant choice. This exquisite concoction was a delightful fusion of a Negroni and a smoky margarita. With its refreshing and perfectly balanced flavors, it left a lasting impression. I can't recall all the ingredients, but mezcal, grapefruit juice, basil, Aperol, and a few other secret components combined to create a truly memorable drink. I highly recommend trying it.
Now, onto the food. We started with the guacamole, and it was a burst of incredible flavors. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The Chile Nogada was a pleasant surprise. Instead of the pine nuts and pomegranate seeds being inside the filling, they were skillfully sprinkled on top, adding a delightful crunchiness and bite to the dish. The deep-fried parsley was a unique and tasty twist on this classic dish, and all the flavors harmonized perfectly.
The grilled chicken with grilled veggies was outstanding. Both were cooked to perfection, showcasing the chef's expertise. We couldn't have asked for a better main course.
For dessert, we decided on the Flan de Elote. While it may not have been the most visually appealing dish, the flavors were spot on. It was a sweet ending to our meal.
Unfortunately, we were on a time crunch and had to rush through our lunch. However, I will definitely make it a point to return when I'm in town. I also want to commend the management for accommodating my partner, who had recently undergone back surgery, by providing a cushion for added comfort.
La casa de los platos has left a lasting impression on me, not only for its delectable food and cocktails but also for the exceptional service and thoughtful touches like the cushion. It's a dining experience I look forward to repeating in the future. Kudos to the entire team for creating such a memorable visit.

Octavio Elizondo offered us excellent service during the Sunday buffet, he made sure that we had everything we needed and all the attractions that the restaurant offered since we had a birthday boy. We will definitely come back again! Excellent service and a lot of kindness!!!

The attention of all the staff is excellent, as foreigners we arrived without knowing and they explained to us in detail the concept of the place, the buffet and all the dishes, we stayed without hesitation, everything was delicious and in the drinks you can see the great quality, They gained a trio of frequent customers who will continue to come back often. We ordered a unique dish every time we went. Some of them were the soup, i.e. first course and the rest the main course. They served the first dishes first so that the rest did not have to eat. For obvious reasons if we will only eat one dish even if it is part of the starter or first course, it is served to everyone at the same time. Very uncomfortable, besides that the waiter wanted to justify rather than accept his mistake.

The attention of Captain David and the waiter Julio has been one of the best I have ever had. The food is delicious and the price for everything it includes is totally worth it. To say that if you celebrate a date, even free shots and touches you get. Place for the whole family and it is a 10/10

This place is excellent to go with the family, the atmosphere is happy, Mexican music, delicious food. I came with my family on Sunday and we had an incredible time. The service provided was excellent, there was a very good buffet, varied and with good seasoning.
Widely recommended.
Take into account that on Saturdays and Sundays there is only a buffet for breakfast, there is no a la carte.

Very friendly servers here, made the experience great. We ordered chĂcharones in a small tortilla for starters and it was delicious. My husband ordered the pollo a la plancha with vegetables he didn’t love it because it was a whole breast not butterflied. I enjoyed the salmon a la Sinaloa. Drinks were fantastic.

Excellent food, we came for breakfast with friends and all the food on their buffet was very delicious. They also have mimosas included and it is a big plus. Also thank you for BenĂtez's attention, always super attentive to us, ensuring that we did not miss anything and very kind to us

Excellent most enjoyable brunch we have ever had. Service was all smiles sweet welcome. Traditional marimba live music, the gentleman with the manual rolling handle on a stand all smiles, live mariachi celebrating birthdays and the restaurant personnel overseeing that everyone is cared for. I almost wanted to give a hug to the omelette lady it was the best I’ve ever had. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Owners please continue with your complete staff and your ways to provide a great atmosphere. Excellent attention!
Delicious and authentic Mexican food. Very good option for those who are traveling to Guadalajara, to take guests who come from outside to take them to try good typical food and also for locals with demanding palates.
Pleasant place with interior vegetation and beautiful original arches that were respected from the original house.
Nice altar of the dead.
They went out of their way to serve us.

It is a great place, excellent food and a spectacular atmosphere, the variety of food and drinks is exceptional!!.
My only recommendation and constructive criticism is that the restaurant staff is too insistent on selling you premium tequilas that cost more than 1000 pesos per glass, this becomes uncomfortable and abusive.
It's fine that they offer it, but it's important that they can read customers and not be too pushy.
On my visit I ordered my favorite tequila, a traditional reposado tequila. 4 different people came to try to offer me premium tequilas.

I call it 4 stars but I would consider it good to dry, not excellent.
We went to lunch and ordered several dishes and tickets.
Tongue sopes are delicious! Chicharron gorditas could have better size (I would prefer fewer portions but a little bigger), taco regios (beef barbecue) are good more are not Top-rated I have ever eaten, chicharron lasagne did not like anything, Hidalgo-style chamorro is not bad either but not excellent like tlayuda.
The service is good, that helps rescue the visit.
