The dining room is a very attractive room, even with “Covid spacing”. The staff are so charming, welcoming and helpful. The meal was the best of our two week trip in Quebec. Each plate is beautifully presented, the menu is very inventive, but still accessible...(ie when you order halibut, you get a lovely large piece of halibut perfectly cooked and seasoned). The chocolate desert was amazing as was the deconstructed pavlova. Wished we lived closer so we could return.More

First of all greeting was not great. There were some nice tables available in the main dining area but they offered us seating on the side less nice area. We had to ask for a better table. Service was good. Entrée and main course were...interesting and very well presented but not lacked some taste. Dessert was delicious. All in all, a nice experience but a little expensive for what you get.More

We went there for lunch. Very inventive and 'bounty of the earth and sea' menu. Superb presentation and succulent dishes with lots of touches like pickled vegs and relish. Loved the sunflower and leek soup. Délicieux.

We stopped in and had lunch yesterday. Wow, what a wonderful experience for some local cuisine. We felt there was strong native Canadian influence. Starting with a quail and polenta appetizer, we were in for a treat. The pork roulade with the mustard sauce was...very nicely prepared with great depth of flavor. The pappardelle with venison meatballs and game meat sauce with amazing. A must try!!More

Amazing menu, lovely ambiance We came here for dinner. We advised ahead of time that three of the four of us were vegetarian, and the chef prepared an additional dish that was vegan, in addition to the one already on the menu. One was a...poke Buddha bowl, the other a tofu stir fry with vegetables. Both were fantastic. Berry eclairs for dessert which were also awesome. Service was friendly.More

Visited La Traite for dinner in January 2020 with friends. We ordered the 6 course menu & were very happy with our choice! The food was delicious & perfectly spaced out (not rushed through courses). Our server, Stephen, was a lot of fun & attentive....I would visit here again!More

It is a warm place to eat and have a good time, it is a bit expensive, but it's a must. When possible, you can have a drink on the terrasse with a fire and the music of the river.

I had looked forward to dining in the restaurant while staying in the adjoining hotel. The building and restaurant were impressively designed and decorated. We had planned to have a brief ala carte breakfast as listed in the menu. Upon arriving one employee gestured toward...a table and excused herself, saying she would be right back - never to be seen again. One woman appeared to be stopping at some tables throughout the room while a young woman cleared dishes and set tables. The older woman did provide us with coffee. We helped ourselves to ala carte items and unsuccessfully tried to get coffee refills. Requests went unresponded to. When my wife finally gave up and requested the bill, she received two incorrect bills prior to getting the proper bill. It appeared as if the dining room was short staffed and many customers were grumbling.More

Kwe, hello Indeed, you are not the only one to inform us about the problem at breakfast this week. Rest assured that we are taking this situation very seriously and the management is currently following up with the relevant departments. Tiawenhk (thank you)

Staying at the Hotel Museum Premier Nations we decided to eat at La Traite on our first night. Having checked out the menu online we were excited to try what appeared to be a quite interesting menu. Sadly the service was awful - it took...over 30 minutes for our order to be taken which is just unacceptable. 90 minutes after we first sat down our mains arrived. Compared to so much of the food we have eaten in Quebec whilst on our holiday this was average at best with a hefty price tag. Sadly as there aren’t many other options in the area they appear to have a captive audience. I noticed many diners who had left their meals uneaten, perhaps like us, unimpressed with their choices. There seemed to be one waiter for the whole room and a sullen waitress who poured the water. Neither were particularly warm or friendly. Breakfast the next day was not brilliant. I would have liked to see a greater choice and at least a menu to choose from if the buffet wasn’t your thing.... Because of our activities in the morning we were still near the hotel at lunchtime so decided to give it one last try. Lunch was a completely different affair. Nice menu, quick service, great food and a friendly waitress too. A smile costs nothing but makes such a difference! On our second evening we headed into the city and ate at Le Ciel - just brilliant.More

We had a 6 course tasting menu for $85 a person. It started promising although the kitchen was slow and there was only one waiter who knew what he was doing. The first 3 courses were tasting good and then the main course came: boar....It was reheated so it was dry and chewy. Then the other courses came quickly after another. The dessert was tasteless and the coffee was served in an empty restaurant. This morning we both had diarrhea. An overpriced and memorable night for all the wrong reasons.More
