First visit was in June, when I ate the best hamburger ever in my life. It tasted like prime beef, charcoal grilled, big and well appointed. Could not put it down until it was all gone - and not just because of the juicy sauce that covered my hands. The red wine I chose was also excellent as was the affogato and the birthday tequila shot my host allowed me as she was driving. (Does food always taste incredibly better when someone else is buying?) Now, this past weekend I went again because I kept thinking about that burger and wanted to experience that taste again. Sad to say the 2nd burger was not as good as the 1st as it didn't taste charcoal grilled. I could not even taste the beef as it was mixed with overpowering seasoning. Had the same wine, $27 a glass, and the waiter knew a fly had got into it but didn't replace it, presumably because I'd already had a few sips. We had to flag down wait staff, and the attack of the flies was unbearable - despite high winds! Hope my 3rd visit lifts the score. One thing will always be the same - the view!

We'd heard great things about Zemi Cafe and decided to try it for a late-ish lunch on a showery Sunday, following a trip to Hunte's Garden. The place is easy to find and is set in an elevated position with great views of the sea and surrounding east coast. We were incredibly lucky to nab the last table for four - Zemi seems very popular with Bajans and visitors alike. And we soon found out why - the menu is terrific and offered dishes we simply hadn't seen elsewhere. A couple of Zemi rum punches hit the spot while we waited for our lunch, and we definitely weren't disappointed when the food arrived. We chose pork escalopes, belly pork, flying fish and cou-cou, and West Indian lamb curry. Portion sizes were generous and the food was perfectly cooked and presented and absolutely delicious. Service was quick and attentive but not overbearing and a chat with the owner revealed his passion for - and knowledge of - rum. All in all, Zemi Cafe is a great place to spend a lingering alfresco lunch that is massively enjoyable but won't break the bank. Of course, we'll be back.

At last a restaurant that properly makes the most of great Barbados produce! We found the menu, especially the Sunday specials, interesting, imaginative and well thought through by a chef who understands how to put flavours together. We enjoyed Kingfish crudo , crab cakes and coconut crusted barracuda with a lobster bisque, all served up without pretension in a lovely, breezy East Coast setting. Cocktails were just as good- we had a sorrel and a gooseberry rum sour and could happily have worked our way through the rum sour menu. Highly recommended!!!

Wow..searching for words to do justice to Zemi! Visiting from Maui and having heard great things, the new Zemi Cafe exceeded our high expectations. Firstly, we love the drive along the pristine rugged East Coast; palms swaying, majestic rock formations jutting up from the foamy sea past the famous "Soup Bowl" surf break, up the hill to the breezy Zemi cafe on the hill. From the warm greeting of the young highly capable staff to the picturesque Atlantic azure backdrop, our lunch adventure flowed flawlessly. They get very busy so we beat the lunch rush by arriving at 11:30am. The entire menu appealed to us, it was difficult to choose! We went with Tent Bay Ceviche served with homemade cassava and breadfruit chips, Tuna Poke and then were blown away by the Barracuda over mash with curry sauce special. Hope it's on the menu next time. Can't wait to try the mocha brownie which I hear is also outrageous. We hope to share Zemi's unique and fantastic taste, views & vibes with friends and family for years to come. Big Mahalo Zemi Crew!

We have been to the Roundhouse several times, but came across this new gem! Zemi is a community project, and is run by young, enthusiastic locals. So much energy and keen to help, chat and laugh. Thank you Kyle and co. Great flying fish with the most amazing home made hot sauce...PLEASE market this!

Zemi East Coast Cafe is new and really fabulous. The Staff are charming, the position and view stunning and as for the food! The menu is one of those rare menus where you can’t decide. Everything is begging to be ordered. And when the food arrives, cooked to perfection like in the old days. This is no doubt one of the gems of Barbados and what was seriously lacking on the East Coast. One bit of advice, book to avoid disappointment.

Saw this new building being built in 2022,,,wondered what it would be. Well,it’s a restaurant placed on a slope looking down and over the beautiful east coast at Bathsheba. Apart from the natural beauty, the restaurant was well run with excellent staff and good food. View plus good eating, unbeatable! Two Flying Fish cutters, two alcoholic drinks and two coffees came to $146 Barbadian dollars. Plus point, gratuities left to the customers discretion. Very unusual!!

What a great find, it's up the hill from the beach but absolutely superb. It was very busy at lunchtime on Sunday 26th March so booking looked essential. Luckily the lovely Manager fitted us in and we had a great lunch, a Octopus special, large fish cutter and Rum Bread and Butter pudding. We needed to walk again after this. Have a look at the other reviews and visit as soon as you can.

Quality of food was fantastic. Stunning views. The Local fish ceviche and Crab Cake started were fantastic. We followed with Rum Glazed Pork Belly and Coconut encrusted Barracuda with a lobster bisque sauce. Everything was 10 out of 10,

Beautiful setting up on the hill in Bathsheba. We enjoyed a delicious meal Pork belly Mashed potatoes with vegetables. I can honestly say this was one of the best meals we’ve had on the island. The bread and butter pudding was exceptional crunchy toppinh and soft middle with plenty of sticky goodness and syrupy rum flavour. The staff were first class and so friendly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect lunch.

So food and service was excellent and Kyle and team took great care of us. The food is amazing. Wanted to try so many more items but the fish cakes are the best I have ever had. So did the cou cou and flying fish one day - this is creamy polenta with the local specialty fish in a tomato based sauce - divine and then next time did the blackened mahi mahi with the pineapple salsa. Order it and wonder why not done at more tex mex places.

I’ve had fish dishes at all the top restaurants in Barbados but the coconut barracuda and lobster curry is the best fish dish on the island hands down. Came here multiple times because the food and drinks were so good. Highly recommended

Superb modern Bajan restaurant, definitely our favourite on the island. Interesting menu, beautifully presented, making the most of super fresh local produce with a modern twist on traditional Bajan food. Light and breezy setting, excellent drinks choices and above all a young, friendly and professional team. We love it here, thank you!

Completely perfect. It was barbarian food, scenery, and friendliness, all wrapped up into one magical place. They used local food and fruits to create delicious and unique cocktails, and dishes all served by the most friendly and welcoming people. Incredible, East Coast view and breeze.
