I did not stay here, but I will. I stooped in and had coffee and scones. Very good. The grounds are on the shores of Lough Sheelin. The grounds are stunning. My only regret was that I did not have enough time this trip to stay. It is #1 on my list for next time. (I filled in 5 for sleep and rooms but did not stay over - I will update when I do)

I went to Cover House restaurant on Sunday evening for dinner with friends! It was really busy but the staff were so nice, friendly and accommodating! The meal was fantastic from all four of us! The staff and service was outstanding! Thanks to you all and especially the management of the restaurant! Keep up this good work and we can’t wait to be back! I’ve stayed a few times previously in your hotel and I sincerely love it there especially at Christmas time! Thanks again to you all!

It looks like a high-end restaurant attached to a posh golf resort. Not sure if we caught them on an "off" day, but we were very disappointed. I cannot recommend.
It felt like we were being purposely ignored. After being shown to a table, we sat and waited to be greeted by a waiter or someone to provide water or drinks. Nothing. The wait staff was walking past us, talking among themselves and doing nothing. And we sat.10 minutes later, I walked to the host station and asked for service. He seemed peturbed. But he took our drink order.
10 minutes later he took our dinner order.
The dinner was served about 5 minutes later (which make me think food was sitting under heat lamps). No dessert of coffee requests by the staff. It's a good thing they did not have a gratuity line on the bill. It was the most disappointing 80 Euros we spent in Ireland.

I called here on speck, for a quick snack, food is good , I had goats cheese salad which was very tasty and quite substantial, their herbal tea selection is extensive. My only gripe is that there was no check to see if everything was ok, until after I finished my meal

The Wedding breakfast was run like clockwork, very smooth and slick! I ate vegetarian food, which couldn't be faulted! Beautifully presented and delicious! The spinach ravioli (main course) was perfect, unfortunately, too big a portion for me!....this is a good complaint!

We were staying in a nearby B&B and they recommended Ashcourt at Crover for dinner. With a beautiful view of the lake as we ate I was very happy with the overall experience.

We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant when we stayed at the hotel. My Seafood Symphony was just gorgeous, and beautifully presented. Mains were the Cock & Bull meal , which again was excellent. Afterwards we were able to have a very pleasant walk by the lake, which you overlook when in the restaurant. On the following day we ate lunch in the restaurant, and as it was fabulous weather we stayed out on the terrace. It was a most relaxing time, we had panninis each and shared a portion of fries. It was very substantial and tasty.

Great view of the lake. Food was good and the service was good. It was a nice treat after eating pub food most of the day. Very romantic setting.

Our B&B proprietor recommended Crover House as a great restaurant in the area. The house itself is situated on a lake and golf course. The dining room offers stunning views of the property as well as a nice veranda where you can enjoy your drink and company. We took the stroll to the lake and enjoyed the forest path; unfortunately, we didn't arrive early enough to take out a rowboat. The meals were excellent; our starter of chili prawns was delicious! We ended up speaking with Crover House's owner and he made us feel more than welcome, offering a small tour and history of the place. It was truly lovely.

Prices didn't seem particularly cheap when I read the menu, but when the steak arrived and it was the size of my car I was amazed. They could tell me which local butcher it came from, which farm and I was half expecting them to name the cow. Really excellent food made it very good value.

I have been to the Crover House Hotel a few times for a drink in the bar and a walk by the loch as it is close to my wife's family's home, but this is the first time I have eaten in the restaurant.
It was a 50th birthday celebration and we had a group of 11 from 85 year old grandfather to 12 year old youngest. We had the carvery Sunday lunch; the food was plentiful and very tasty. I had the roast gammon, but there was also beef and turkey. I think they had run out of lamb, but we didn't arrive until 2:30 pm and the restaurant was very busy.
After we had a few drinks on the terrace and didn't leave until after 6:00 pm by which time the restaurant lunch crowd had emptied and the venue started to fill up again for dinner. Clearly helped on the day by unusually good weather, Crover House Hotel is a popular spot and rightly so. Highly recommended.

The food was just amazing. It's a four hour drive for us but it would be worth it just for the garlic potatoes 😃
