Terrific dim sum- but prepare for a very long wait- over an hour. The restaurant does not take reservations.

Every time we're in Taiwan, we eat in this place. This time, we've been here twice in one week - we like it that much! There's always a wait but it's worth it. The plates are not big; it's great because you get to try...different dishes. Our favorites: cucumber, house special, spicy beef tripe, braised eggplant, spicy shrimp & pork wontons, pork chop friend rice, noodles with minced pork sauce, and, of course, their xiaolongpao. I've eaten their xiaolongpao in two of their California restaurants, and they are not as juicy as the ones here in Taiwan. My family loves this place!More

We dined at the Tienmu outlet of the Din Tai Fung restaurant chain at the invitation of my wife's elder sister, who lives locally. As usual, the food was excellent. I especially liked the "hot and sour soup." We had steamed dumplings, plus guo tie,...that it, fried dumplings, which the Americans call "pot stickers." The service was first-rate, we arrived early so it didn't take long to get served. By the way, Din Tai Fung is in the basement of the Tienmu branch of the SOGO department store.More

Every time step into Ding Tai Fung, I'm always expecting it is a good meal and deserve the great service. In Tien Mu store, most customers are from the local ana seldom the tourists. You can see lots of families and friends to gather here...to enjoy the meal. I can assume myself an expert taste in Ding Tai Fung, because I tried almost every dishes (except the sweets), and can share with the most enjoyable ones. You must order "house special spicy shrimp / vegetable and pork Wontons." It is the best dish I've ordered every time and never let me down. You can also try "hot and sour soup" to warm your stomach after a long day hard work. One more dish to recommend is "shrimp and pork pot stickers" which is crispy, delicious and can make your day! There are many traditional food you can try with the great services. It is my kitchen actually and I do like to have it with the family, friends and customers. Always satisfy my picky request on the food.More

This xiaolongbao restaurant needs no introduction. Other than the dumplings, we like the spicy beef appetiser, noodles and fried rice

Some friends took us to the basement of SOGO shopping center for an adventure for the appetitie! We could see the cooks furiously and precisely rolling out the dough for hand-wrapped dumplings, each with precisely 18 turns at the top. They ordered appetizers and then...we devoured each dumpling, no MSG added!! Taiwanese food at it's best!More

This is a famous Taiwanese restaurant. We have them in our hometown of Hong Kong, but wanted to come here. We chose this location because its relatively close to the National Palace Museum, where we wanted to go afterward. It is pretty close (one stop...on the MRT + the bus to the museum). It reminded me of Japan, because it's located on the basement food level of Sogo. Also, the staff really jumps to serve you and is very helpful (with good English too!). The food was wonderful. It is more expensive than the "local" restaurants and the portions are not overwhelmingly large, but its really worth it. We didn't have to wait, but we came mid-afternoon, between lunchtime and dinnertime, which is think is probably a good idea.More

We went here with friends while visiting Taipei- we had a large group and they were able to accommodate us very well. We all ordered the dumplings, sautéed greens, fried rice to share and of course the chocolate dumplings for dessert 🍮. The food was...amazing! I want to come back to Taiwan just to eat at this restaurant!More

Waited for 30mins during dinner time while shopping. Ordered 5 dishes - only appetizer since I dine alone. Portion is just nice and the quality of food is outstanding. Those dishes tasted the same in Singapore.

I had never been to this restaurant before and went on a recommendation. It is in the basement of the shopping center. There was already a queue forming for early lunch. The hostess gives you a number and a menu to circle your choices. The...menu had English and was easy to understand. Our waiter spoke great English and helped us with our questions. Everything I tried was great. The prices are reasonable.More
