OSAKA INSPIRED KITCHEN Located in the heart of our beautiful resort, in a dedicated area within Pinto Restaurant, Tengoku is the perfect culinary event for the entire family. The cuisine is ideal for sharing, and the seating in our private alcoves is perfect for small to mid-scale gatherings as well. Take pleasure in watching the customary preparation of Teppanyaki in an open kitchen. Imbibe the skilled Teppanyaki chef’s focus of perfection and immerse in the tantalising aromas, and the energy of our chefs whilst they grill and fry your tasting menu choices right before you. Best Japanese fusion restaurant in Phuket

I came here yesterday, with my fiancé as a couple and it was the best dinner we had in Phuket so far. It started off with a bang: a matcha infused cocktail with bitter and sour notes as a welcome drink. The Japanese tuna and wagyu beef were the highlight of the dinner and were paired with fine sake. We had several scallop dishes in between, both raw and grilled. The staff was well trained and explained every dish in detail. We were also greeted by the head chef and the restaurant manager who showed us the dry aged A4 quality wagyu beef. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who wants to come here for a romantic dinner or just as a family to enjoy fantastic Japanese fusion cuisine with stylish interior and a staff that has an eye for detail.

Great Service and Taste

This spot is great for resort guest as it is convenient and the price charged is reasonable. Service is comparable to what I received during my visit to Conrad OSAKA Teppanyaki. To be honest, when I said comparable, it is because the staff ween serving us with heart and diligence. Thank her again to make us having a enjoyable and relaxing time while we are having dinner in the restaurant. The food exceeds our expectation and my wife outright believed it was even better than our Teppanyaki meal in OSAKA. I admitted the taste of the food is commendable but I did find one mistake which I deducted one star from five. The tiger prawn is a bit cold when it was delivered to us. My wife wouldn't notice this little detail though :D To improve, I would suggest the chef to design some elegant set course of Teppanyaki for the hotel guest to choose for fine dining and let the guest that booked such course sit before the cooking plate so that the guest can view the chef cooking as entertainment as well. Such change could elevate the restaurant status to in par with their counterpart in Japan. In conclusion, I highly recommend anyone staying in the resort to visit and try the Teppanyaki dishes of this restaurant at least once per stay.

Family dinner for special occasion

As Family dinner for special occasion, living on Phuket we tried dinner and from the staff who explained the different dishes, wine and beer ( letting us taste first) the starters where amazing ( 9.8 out of 10 by our daughter only once rated food that high). For the main dish form exceptional to low an average of 9.0. Dessert: First time ever 9.9 ( organic honey on on Yuzu icream ) and Japanese crape so we’ll balanced. Total 9.5

Impressive dinner at Tengoku

Rut and Ween were amazing service staff from door to table. The menu was explained clearly and they were attentive to the adults and kids needs. Ramen quality was impressive, chicken wings were really enjoyable. Kids had ramen set which had sufficient variety for 4yo and 6yo. Strongly recommend !

Very good food and great service

The food at this restaurant was really very good. Every dish we had was cooked perfectly, esp the wagyu beef which was perfectly done with excellent roasted vegetables at the side. Service was great - Khun Rut especially was always anticipatory of our needs.

The food and service that we received were exceptional Ween (our server) went above and beyond and the entire staff was exceptional. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area. Be sure to try the Sasabara Tataki :)

Wonderful Experience

We dined in the Tengoku Japanese restaurant located in the Intercontinental Resort Phuket. We sampled some of the specialties of the menu and were very happy with the delicious yakitori and shashimi. The stars of the show were the waitresses. They were extremely attentive, and made our night out special. Special compliments to Ween and Phoo who went above and beyond with their genuine warmth and hospitality. We look forward to our next visit!

The best Japanese Dining experience

The Food was diligently prepared dishes. I and my friends very impressed all of food especially The slice of fish in yuzu sauce was super yummy. About service so Outstanding I would thank you to K.Rut for special take care us and suggest the importance dishes in restaurant must be try. We planned to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday at Tengoku restaurant. The food there was excellent—fresh and delicious. We had the omakase don, which was exceptionally fresh and authentic, and the steak teppanyaki was perfectly cooked. The staff were very attentive and took great care of us. They helped me surprise my girlfriend with a birthday cake. I would like to compliment K. Pookkie, K. Rut, and K. Ween for being very friendly and consistently offering assistance, embodying the true Intercontinental style.

Amazing staff & food

Staff are incredibly welcoming from the minute we stepped inside! Pookie who was one of our servers came over to teach my Husband & I how to properly use chopsticks as she could see us trying to learn. Pookie & Rut were extremely attentive not to mention the food was delicious- we ordered too much and struggled to finish it all which was a bit sad but will definitely be back!

If you are looking for an authentic and pure Japanese dining experience – Tengoku in Intercontinental Resort Phuket is a must visit. Compared to the traditional Japanese dishes you find in other venues, Tengoku offers a menu that integrates the ancient techniques of Osaka’s cooking masters with the freshest ingredients sourced, where the delicacy and elegance are formed and well-delivered. I enjoyed their Miyazaki Dinner 5-Course Menu – A4 Yuzu Tataki / Gyutan Stew / Truffle Sukiyaki / Umami Wagyu Udon finished with Red Cheese Foam dessert. Each delicate dish was highly visual, a work of culinary art in its own right which showcased the huge amount of skill required to execute. The meal was mouth-watering upon sight, and incredible balanced and delicious. Meat was tender and succulent with every bite, plate after plate was wonderfully rich yet refreshing. The flavors were well married, and the variety of ingredients used did not manage to overpower another. The dessert was a delightfully soft and airy end to the overall dinner. Safe to say this should be high on your list when you’re looking for Japanese experience right here in Phuket. Shoutout to Chef and the entire team for the outstanding food and service, well done!

Perfect dining experience

A Taste of Excellence

I had an excellent experience dining at Tengoku at the Intercontinental Phuket Resort. The ambiance and decor was exquisite and even though I’m in Thailand I was greeted with a hearty “Kunichiwa” by the host, servers, and cooks as I walked to my reserved table. My server, Ween, took especially good care of me. I had a sweet tea with leaves from Japan prefecture, tempura appetizer, and a bowl of Chasu ramen. All were delicious without breaking the bank at this award-winning restaurant. Thank you IHG!
