I did a 3-day hike from Compatsch over the Schlern to the Plattkofelhütte and back and spent 1 night at the Plattkofelhütte. The rooms are super new and chic. Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom on the floor is very clean. You can shower for around €3 for 3 minutes (buy tokens).
We had half board with a 4-course dinner (salad buffet, soup, main course, dessert). Everything is homemade and extremely tasty! The breakfast buffet in the morning is also sufficient. Here too, the yoghurt and butter etc. are homemade.
Prices are completely reasonable!
The hut also has a shoe drying room where you can also wash (€5) and a reading/play room with a wonderful view.
The staff are super nice and helpful.
The view is breathtakingly beautiful.

We had lunch in the refuge, the dishes chosen were good, the service was also good despite the large influx of tourists. It's a shame for the failure to issue the receipt which causes the rating to drop to very low, also because from what we could see it was a normal habit. A bad conclusion for us, this place was also crossed out!!

A nice place and nice finish if you start from the Selva pass parking lot. Generous dishes, well presented with excellent ingredients. Prices in line with the fact that products must be brought to 2350 meters. Fast and attentive service

With some friends we reached the Sasso Piatto refuge for lunch. The overall rating is poor, the dishes were normal, nothing particularly typical, the cost was quite high (partly justified by being a mountain refuge), the receipt wasn't even issued despite payment by card. Let's save the staff who were friendly although very busy, but other than that there is a lot to review, I won't go back

I was at the flat rock shelter with my family, we sat down for lunch at 14.30, the kitchen closes at 15, after lunch we asked for a sautéed potato and it was 15.02, the girl very “kindly” replied “the kitchen is closed!!”, next to us there was a family of Germans who was looking at the menu and after 10 minutes they called the same girl and ordered first and second courses. I understand that the shift in the kitchen has set times, but they should be such for everyone, and in case the potatoes were finished it was enough that with the same “gentle” tone the girl told us.

We stayed here overnight while doing some hiking in the vicinity. Great reception, after which we were quickly shown to our rather large and very neat room. Beds are great after a day walking, showers are clean and hot (coin operated). Diner was good as well, breakfast was adequate with lots of choice. We had a great stay here and I do recommend this place to fellow travelers.

Lunch time stop on hike. Shared some lovely local cheeses and re-energised for the next leg of our hike back to Campitello via Val Duron. Service and facilities are good.

We stayed overnight at this hut while doing the hike around Sasso Lungo and Piato with 2 teenage boys.
We had a spotllessly clean room for four, with bunk beds for the boys and a double bed for us. The boys said this was the most comfortable bed they slept in our whole trip (granted they were tired from the hike including the climb up Sasso piato :-)).
very nice dinner with several options and although the hut seemed completely full service was quick and kind.
Breakfast- despite being on the limited options side was very nice with fresh bread cheese and cold cuts as well as very nice muesly.
The also provide sandwiches or supplies for the rest of the day if you require which was a lifesave for us since hiking with 2 teenage boys required frequent sandwich stops.

Refugio Sasso Piatto is very nicely located with endless views north. An ideal place to lunch when walking around Sassolungo, like we did. We started at Passo Sella and Refugio Sasso Piatto is reached after 35-40% of the total walk. There are no more “huts” with food along the path after Sasso Piatto. We had a nice wooden table outside and the service was quick and friendly though there were lots of people and it was very busy. Our food also arrived quickly. I had spaghetti with olive oil, tomatoes and chèvre. A delicious combination. My wife had a hamburger and was overwhelmed by the “most tasty hamburger ever”. A highly recommendable place when hiking around Sassolungo. Well done high up there!

We stayed one night in Plattkofel on a 10 day Dolomite self guided hike. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Guests were interesting, dogs are welcomed. We had a private room w/private bath. Very well insulated room. Comfortable, quiet.

I was here three years ago and therefore had some expectations on my return visit. I ordered a set of three different dumplings and was delighted to find that my expectations were well met. I look froward to my next visit in this scenic location.

Walk from Rifugio Federico Augusto to Rifugio Sassopiatto. Very good lunch (boards and eggs with excellent speck) but rather high prices. Courteous and attentive service.
