Absolutely spot on! We enjoyed tasty pastas and stone baked pizzas, cooked to perfection! Great attentive service, lovely surroundings, good music. What’s not to like? Lucky to have this fabulous restaurant on our doorstep.

We had stopped in the Travelodge at the Washington (A1 Northbound) services just near by. Apart from the services, there was no restaurant on site. The hotel receptionist told us how to get to Antico, a two minute walk away. From the outside it looks...like a small pub, but then you are shown downstairs into a very attractive small restaurant, with a lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. And the food was amazing! This is a local restaurant for us so we come here lots. Always great food and staff are friendly. Pizza and pasta always tasty and the Sunday dinners are tasty too. Looks like it’s changed ownership recently but thankfully the name seems to be the...only thing that’s changed.More

Visited last night and was not impressed I ordered the lasagne which was stone cold in the middle sent it back and received another one which was better but not piping hot received an apology and that was it what’s making me write this review...is that my daughter had exactly the same experience a couple of months ago two cold lasagna ended with nothing as the rest of the party had finished eating by this point you would think they would have rectified the problem but obviously not won’t be going backMore

My wife and I booked in this restaurant for an early evening dinner.We arrived and were shown to a table in the conservatory area.We swiftly ordered drinks from a very friendly waitress and looked at the main menu and happy hour menu which was on...till 18.30pm.We ordered potato skins garlic mushrooms,pizza and a pasta.It was all beautiful and well worth the final bill of £36 which included a pint of lager and a spritzer.The service was excellent and it had a nice atmosphere.There is a bar at the front of the building where you can also eat.There are limited spaces in the car park but you can park on the road.Well worth a visit.We shall return.More

We travel up to the Northeast on business several times a year and this has become our go to restaurant. The staff are outstanding, the food delicious and the place has a great atmosphere. It gets busy…but what do you expect if it’s good! Would...suggest booking as you might be disappointed if you just turn up. A real hidden gem! See you in July guys 🙏.More

Birthday treat, and we are so glad we went back here. Love this place as we have been going for years, once again the staff and food were amazing. The refurbished rooms look fantastic. We will be back again soon.

Absolutely superb. Excellent service and fabulous roast beef dinners for all 8 of us. Reasonably reasonably priced. Will definitely return.

What a shame this place has deteriorated to the level it is now. We have been regulars for years but the level of service by some of the staff is just poor to say the least. The place wasn't full yet we had to wait...over an hour for our starters (olives so not even any cooking involved). When I asked about a minor change to one of the items on the menu the waitress said it couldn't be done as the chef had everything prepared. Fair enough I thought so I changed my order. Two hours later the waitress returned and said they had run out of what I had asked for........low and behold she suggested what I had asked for originally which now wasn't a problem. Some of the staff work hard and are very pleasant, some are an irritation who spoil the atmosphere of the whole place. We won't be going back as there are better restaurants who have a better menu and service locally. This could have been just a bad night but when you have two in a row you start to question whether it is worth risking a third. I think we'll be giving another visit a miss for a long while !More

My wife and i had a sunday lunch recently at the Board Inn.We booked a table and it was a good job as it was busy between 12 - 1430pm.We ordered drinks and looked at the menu which consisted of two sunday lunch meats either...beef or chicken and pizzas and pasta s as well.We both ordered starters of garlic mushrooms and potato skins.When the starters arrived they were hot and large and very tasty.The main courses when they arrived had the meat,yorkshire pudding,roast potatoes,carrots,broccolli,mashed potato and very hot gravy already on the food.The food was very nice with only turnip/swede missing which would have been great if it had been there.The service was very slick/efficient and seemed to work like clockwork.It was £12.95 for two courses and well worth the money paid.Highly recommend but i would definitely book as you may have a long wait if you dont.We shall return.More

Food here is always amazing! Service is usually very slow, however today the service was great. Seems that there has been a change of staff, big improvement.
