Wow! What a place! Quique, the owner for the last few years (& Chef) is some guy.
He cooks almost Artesan food, with an homage to his home-town of Malaga, using fresh ingredients & flavourings, in a simple & simply delicious way. He's also great...fun, happy to share his knowledge & despite being quite a big fella, not over-powering or false. I asked him the 2nd night we went to eat there how he was, to which he replied, "I'm fat." Brilliant.....
We ate, like others who have reviewed here, Aubergine (Egg-plant) strips, deep-fried & covered in Molasses - gorgeous, the best Chorizo I've ever tasted, garlic chicken, a terrific salad, a wonderful thick cold soup, a creamy kind of Gazpacho, a homely Beef stew & these little caramel flans that were just amazing. The house Rioja Tinto was pretty damn good too.
The views over the valley to the mountains are every bit as good as the food & the friendliness of the host & his mate who helps him out. Quique needs to charge more, because he's so cheap it's ridiculous!
Go to this place, it's absolutely brilliant.More
