If you are a guest at penke panke lodge, this is where you will have your breakfast. at night, this bar is a lot of fun. the bartenders are friendly and enjoy drinking themselves. the firepit outside is a nice cozy place to hang.

Penke Bar is a fun, small bar in Wadano. Nice and cosy on a cold evening after skiing. Excellent small nibble plates to share x chilli edamame and karaage chicken were standouts. They also have live music on some evenings. It’s a good idea to...book as it is often quite full.More

Funky little bar, very Australian. The parmi was decent, the chicken croissant was pretty great. Very chaotic otherwise with so many people crammed into such a small space.

This funky little bar / cafe which appears to be an Aussie favorite hang out, does serve really tasty food. However, what is really annoying is going there early for dinner with a young child to beat peak hour and having to wait for over...an hour for food. Their excuse was that a large table has arrived before us - that shouldn’t be our problem - staff the restaurant appropriately. We only went there on the recommendation from staff at the accommodation we were staying at ( Asuka lodge ) who told us they didn’t take booking. The first thing we were asked on arrival was “did we have a booking”? I like their concept, but maybe put on some more staff in peak season.More

First time in Hakuba and this was first meal of the trip. Overall good atmosphere and good drink prices. Wall art was groovy. Food was decent is reasonably priced. Only reasons for not getting a 5 star was; 1) the chicken was slightly overcooked and...I was expected to dine with a tough chicken beast using a butter knife. 2) there were no wine glasses when I ordered a bottle of wine. Overall nice warmly place to relax.More

We were a large group. Its a small bar, with benches and tables. Staff were fun very helpful and energetic, allowing us a few karaoke songs before the younger generation arrived around 9:30pm and open to the floor. As mentioned in other reviews the chicken...escalope was large (you could share) .The sticky apple pudding is a must. Food was very tasty and Highly Recommend .More

Extensive menu covering Eastern to Western cuisine, small plates and desserts. The drinks menu was all-encompassing, with a wide selection of local and international beverages and great cocktail menu. Our food arrived promptly, the staff were incredibly welcoming and polite and we were treated to...some live entertainment. We very much enjoyed our salmon teriyaki and chicken dishes and the apple pudding was perfect for an apres-ski sugar hit.More

Entertainment every night and the night we were there was Karaoke and it was awesome !! Everybody in the bar...was joining in and the atmosphere was fantastic. Service was awesome too. Would highly recommend this place for a really fun night out with great food. My husband and I also had lunch here which was absolutely delicious. Don't miss out on this place, you'll love it !!More

We came here every night (not that there's much choice only one other bar 100mtrs down the road) The bar staff were especially great Bo and Rachel in particular, they always welcomed my little girl and made her feel happy. The bar is predominantly run...and acquainted by Aussies which OK except for the Triple J hottest 100 party (an Aussie thing) where at 5 pm it was not a family friendly event with extreme swearing, shouting and very drunk people. That's why I have only given it 3 stars for sacrificing a family friendly restaurant for an Aussie booze up through the day.( if I was staying at the hotel I would have been furious) My little girl was very scared and with the only other bar also Aussie run doing the same thing we had to go back to the hotel hungry. The bar itself is very quaint with an open pit fire outside. There is live music every night and a good vibe. The biggest problem is the 'Reserving Table' we came in numerous times only to be told the tables were reserved despite it being quite empty still. We were invited to sit at the bar and the reservations never showed up anyway. It not just Penke that does this every where does and it doesn't make sense, Im sure more people leave that stay because there tables are all booked out. In my experience you invite the customer to stay but on the understanding they clear the table once the time the reservation has started and only if they turn up.More
