First time eating here following recommendations from family and friends. Five of us agreed it was quality in every aspect, service, value and totally authentic Indian cuisine. How people can complain at £27.00 for three courses of this standard is bewildering. Thanks. Seema and your team. We will be back.

My fear of most Indian restaurants is making sense of the huge menu dozens and dozens of different dishes far too many to choose from,my other worry about this is how can anyone prepare all these different dishes properly and how fresh can all these ingredients be.Not so at DALVIS a small menu expertly chosen and prepared to perfection, enough of a selection to suit all tastes, all allergy information on the menu, changed every two weeks. The very best Indian food I have ever eaten, you can taste the freshness, in warm and friendly surroundings with lovely attentive staff .Seema the owner well this is one very lovely hard working woman, cooking, waiting table, clearing tables you name it Seema does it and she speaks to every customer, she really cares. This is a got to go too place, you are missing out if you dont experience this delight of Poulton. Good luck and best wishes to Seema and her team, Greg from Poulton.

I can’t put in to words how good this place is. The staff were so attentive and endearing and the chef/owner was the most wonderful, down to earth person I have met. She engaged with the diners and made sure everything was perfect. The food was like no Indian I have ever tasted. It was authentic Indian food, I felt like I had experienced the culture like no other time before. The meals are worth the money. They come with rice and bread which is included in the price. Two lovely young lads served us, one called Dan who made the experience a 10/10 too. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone locally and afar! Great mixture of vegetarian and meat too! As a vegetarian I often struggle. Thank you for the great experience that made a bad week awesome! Emma

This is a very different approach to Indian food and, on my husbands birthday, we were really looking forward to giving it a try. The restaurant itself is new and very fresh, with modern light decor which again for an Indian restaurant was a nice change. The staff were lovely, very attentive and helpful. So it is with great sadness that I have a give its first negative review.
The menu is very small and limited but not a problem, we both chose the prawn starter. It was nicely presented but the prawns were barely warm and when served with a tomato sauce that was fridge cold, it was not the best result but we ate it, we were hungry.
For Main Course I chose the Lamb Kofta and my husband a chicken dish. My first bite in to my lamb meatballs resulted in a large chunk of crushed spices in my mouth, really not very nice and I had to spit it out. I tried again, the meatballs were hard on the outside and dry on the inside. Everything else on my tray, it was served with a pancake like bread, a thin lentil daal, again a fridge cold raita and rice which was barely warm.
At that point I gave up, the overall impression of the food in front of me was that it was not very pleasant to eat and the low temperature of the some of the food made me worry about the health implications. My husband had eaten only a few bites of his dish and had come to the same conclusion, the food was just not hot enough to be enjoyable.
Such a shame. We asked to speak to the manager, I firmly believe that any complaints or negative comments should be made directly first rather than afterwards on here, to give them chance to understand reasons for our discontent but we made it very clear we were not prepared to pay for food we had barely eating. The waiter said the manager would speak to us at the bar on our way out, we asked to at least finish our drinks in peace and he went away. A few minutes later while my husband had disappeared to the loo, the lady manager came to the table and crouched down beside me. I quietly explained our misgivings with the food and I think, I hope, she accepted them.
We finished our drinks and rose to leave only to be aggressively verbally abuse by the young couple on the table at the side of us. The young man alleged we had ruined their meal with our complaints. Not quite sure how that came about? We had spoken quietly between ourselves, we certainly hadn’t heard any of their conversation while we were at our table so how had they heard ours? I do think it was a wrong move for the manager to come to our table to hear our complaints, in such close proximity. It would have been better to have the discussion at the bar. We certainly didn’t want to cause any embarrassment or spoil the pleasure of the other diners. The young man rose and started to get loud and even more abusive and then the young lady joined in, saying we had ruined their evening!!! My husband pulled me away before anything further could develop. We were both shaking as we walked out of the restaurant and continued to do so for quite a while after. We were both shocked at how our evening had ended. Not, in this particular point, the restaurant’s fault apart from perhaps, as already said, the manager should have waited to speak to us away from the other diners.
A distressing end to a bit of a disaster of a birthday celebration!

Having booked 2 weeks ago, we did not expect to be isolated in the upstairs dining room as the only diners. Other customers arrived, looked at the situation and left. Completely soulless with zero atmosphere. Even what background music there was, was coming from downstairs.
The icing on the cake was the surly waitress, we believe to be a member of the owning family, with no sense of humour and inability to interact with customers. My friend actually said "give us a smile" and she seemed to take offence at this, which was followed up by a tirade of abuse from a guy who came out of the kitchen. When the bill was paid in cash to this same waitress, no change was offered, even though we had no intention of leaving a tip. Not wishing to make a scene, we left without the change but will NEVER be going back. The owner needs to not just concentrate on her own hospitality and quality of food, both of which were, as always, faultless but on customer focused training for this individual.

Thank you for a lovely comment about the owner.
Both floors have the same music and thats why you thought the music was coming from downstairs.
We respect our guests and protect our staff. We will not tolerate any perversity with our staff. All female staff who were working upstairs complained about your friend's behaviour. 99% percent of our guests always say how friendly and helpful Dalvi's staff is. But there is always one.
I don't think I have to give any more explanation and we are sorry to see you go.

Keen to try Dalvis as recently opened and will definitely be going back. The menu was small with just 3 or 4 dishes for each course but I like this as shows the food is cooked fresh. The Tandoori Aloo starter was full of flavour, using new potatoes and a good mix of spice, the taste was delicious. The main courses served on a tray with all the accompaniments was a lovely way to serve the food and all was delicious. Some of the best Indian food I have tasted! The staff were pleasant and attentive and the owner also. Definitely will return!!

Wow!!
This is a beautiful restaurant. Every fine detail was perfect. The aroma smell of burning essence on arrival made us feel so welcome.
The young waiter was brilliant. He attended to every fine detail and even had a very good sense of humour and made us all laugh.
The owner made the evening extra special by attending to all the tables explaining the menu. The service was outstanding!
The food was 10/10 as graded by my Nan who is very fussy when it comes to food. She even asked for her curry extra extra spicy and then asked for more spice which was not a problem.
The desserts, menu, cocktails and whole evening was so special and they made my Nan on her birthday feel so warm! This cheered her up so much.
Thank you Dalvis! We are so overwhelmed by an amazing evening. Can’t wait to try again

Visited this evening, and was so impressed. The decor was not typical of your average Indian restaurant. It was plain but very classy. We were served on traditional indian trays with dhal and raita. The food itself was fresh , perfectly cooked and a pleasure to eat. Don’t go if you are expecting Chicken Tikka Masala.

Dined on the last night before Nov. lockdown. There was no draught beer and had to settle for a bottle of Corona (how apt!!). Menu is very minimal with a choice of 4 starters and 4 mains. We had a different starter each and same with main course so we could try each. The food was excellent!! Asked owner about extent of menu and they change the choice every 2 weeks. Wine was very reasonably priced, but felt food cost was a little on the dear side.

This does not operate as as regular Indian restaurant. It is more expensive than others but well worth it. The menu offers a choice of 4 startes, 4 mains, 4 desserts; our main courses were presented in a tali style served with rice and bread. The menu seems to cover vegetarian and vegan options...vegetarian starter both looked and tasted delicious.
Each dish was freshly prepared to requirements, having been asked how spicy we would like the dish to be, and well presented. Menus are changed every 2 weeks.
The staff are polite and attentive; the chef personally came to the table to thank us for dining. The restaurant gives off an up market, relaxed and casual vibe.

Nice place and good food . Definitely better than your usual Indian restaurant. The choice is very limited but the food is flavoursome. The portions are quite small in particular the starters . The prices are for me way over the top for this style of food , basically £20 for a lamb curry . So value for money it’s not .

Hadthe most fabulous 3 course meal. Shared onion bhaji and samosas, vegan curry and chicken curry,,twist on cheesecake and creme brulee. Staff were fantastic, looked after you, attentive, and the owner/ chef came out constantly checking everything was to your liking. Nothing too much trouble. Loved it.

We love authentic home cooked Indian food and found this gem of a restaurant in Poulton. Main courses arrive on a tray with curry, rice, Indian bread, dhal and yoghurt dip. You choose the level of chilli hot spice, rice and bread. As vegetarians we struggle with most menus but not at Dalvis. Out of 4 main courses, 2 are vegetarian and the food is so tasty we went back the following week and hope to make Dalvis a regular Friday night out in Poulton. Can’t wait to take our friends and family. Service is excellent and it’s a really friendly place to visit 😀

Given that our table was only booked two hours in advance on NewYears Eve. We have had a fantastic night and good hospitality.
Absolutely wonderful food with some choices having a twist of cultural fusion between India, Portuguese and French.
It's not your run-of-the-mill Indian Restaurant with generic Tikka, Bhuna, Korma curries etc. It is far, far better than that.
The front of house staff are very friendly with the maître d'hôtel and chef coming out to talk to every table.
Given the busy night, we did not feel that we was rushed so that they could get the next table seated. Quite the opposite, we could have sat there for another hour talking.
Allergens are catered for on the night but best to give them two days notice for more precise options in food and/or they can tinker with the ingredients of dishes.
We WILL definitely be back soon .
Poulton le Fylde is lucky to have this restaurant!

We’ve heard fabulous things about Dalvis restaurant and we weren’t disappointed.
It was so lovely of the owner to come to our table to talk us through the concept of her food. This also put our shy daughter at ease and made her feel included.
There were 3 of us so we had one starter each. We shared these and each one was amazing.
For main course my daughter had butter chicken (mild), I had butter chicken (medium) and my husband had a Kolhapuri Mutton Curry (spicy). They were out of this world!!
Authentic lager was so smooth and so nice. I had wine which was lovely. My husband has had many curries and he said he has NEVER had a curry as good as this.
Overall a fabulous evening. If you want a bog standard curry from a mainstream restaurant then this isn’t the place for you. This is authenticity at its finest. Homemade recipes passed from generation to generation. Set menu is changed every couple of weeks and we cannot wait to go back again.
