Dinner for three midweek in January (was fairly quiet but busier than I was expecting). Three main courses, skinny fries, four Turkish beers (pints), one J20 - £71. Note they don't accept tips via credit card so take some cash if you are planning to tip. Staff friendly and welcoming. A nice touch was a small appetizer each to start (free). Meals were piping hot, good portions and super tasty (I can recommend the swordfish and the prawn (Karid Guvec) dishes. Space around the tables was good i.e. they haven't try to cram too many tables in. Seats comfortable. The only negative was from my wife who gets cold easily, she wanted to be warmer. My son and I (jumper and sweatshirt) were fine.

Regularly visit Agora and from the 1st visit it's always been good. Food always served piping hot, lots of flavours going on and decent portion size. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Having been a regular customer over the past year we ordered takeaway this weekend in order to support this local business. Rang to order and chose a delivery time. Food delivered on time by Ozzy, great service. Can't say my presentation was as good as theirs when plated up but still tasted bloomin good. Will do again.

Tried this place with friends a couple of weeks ago. Food very good with generous portions but it’s very expensive for what you get. Pleasant friendly staff and efforts were made to maintain social distancing. However it’s not a huge place so that was difficult. The early bird menu wasn’t available probably as it was part of the “Eat out” scheme. Drinks, as expected, were mega expensive. If the early bird menu becomes available we would be happy to give it another go. All in all we had a good evening.

Was disappointed by the starter. Both ordered the chicken wings and at £5.50 each, you only get two in a portion which I thought was a bit poor. They were very nice, you just needed a third. Had lamb chops and chicken kebab for main, both were well cooked and very tasty with a better portion size. Overall had a nice evening.

What an incredible night we had for our first visit to Agora 😍 Absolutely delicious authentic food, tasty drinks, beautiful decor, speedy service, great practices during covid and to top it all off the attentive service from Ozzy was second to none. He is an absolute credit to your restaurant, went above and beyond to serve us, and is the epitome of "service with a smile" what a great guy, he made our night. We'll 100% be back soon 😋😁

I am surprised to see this place has 5 stars, I unable to see reviews. We came to the restaurant last night for a friends birthday who said it is usually a nice place. However last night it was not. The service was slow and the food raw or cremated. We were informed the chef was on holiday so that explains our raw chicken and cremated lamb. The chicken was taken back to the kitchen and cooked further, no replacement of cutlery or offer of a different meal, definitely wouldn’t of wanted the chicken. We were however given 4 small pieces of baclava, told it was made fresh and enjoy 😂 there was no amendment made to the bill for the uneaten chicken dish and the manager/owner I presume just him bombarded us with justifications about the food. All in all it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. 🤢

My husband had booked a table for 2. On arrival we were taken to a table upstairs even though several tables downstairs were empty!! We were told you had to ask for a downstairs table when booking. Our table was nowhere near 1 metre away from the next table, the room was not set out under Covid rules!! The 2 waitresses were very pleasant although they seemed under pressure, given the number of people upstairs. On 2 occasions we were brought the wrong starter!! The sizzler dishes we ordered were ok but only just warm, not surprising as all food was carried up 2 flights of stairs. At no time even when paying were we asked for details of address or phone number for track and trace!! We certainly will not be returning.

So I deleted my review last night on the understanding I was being contacted bk tonight not had any communication from here I’m actually devastated to be writing this but I’m not about to be ripped off so I’m fuming came last night and I’m disgusted. Arrived 7.20 booked for 7.30 got sat upstairs’ between 2 tables eating like idiots no drink just sat there got seated downstairs at table finally got our drinks. Ordere. Food 2 meatballs and garlic mushrooms they were like warm mains Iced grill overcooked and hard dry as anything had to get a sauce and the prawns 6 frozen prawns in a sauce that was bland so upon ordering there wasn’t a single mention they had no rice or veg that you usually get instead just giving out the smallest portion of skinny fries that were soggy my son ordered the garlic mushroom chicken with an additional hair in it we called fhe waiter over who has changed for the worse in lockdown used to be friendly he just took the hair of the plate explained they hadn’t rice it had been busy it was 7.30 in evening I asked a table who came in earlier ( friend ) they were told chef forgot to make it and pick the veg up so I’ve wasted the one weekend day of for months to have the worst meal I’ve ever experienced and left deflated and utter disappointment the manager promised to call me bk nothing so this is why my review is going on used to be good here I won’t be back ever again if you valued customers not just about taking money then you’d have probably kept me as a customer I was one of the first customer threw the door on opening the business and been a regular I’m absolutely disgusted

Have walked past this place every time we go to Poulton, on this occasion we decided to take a chance, lucky enough they managed to get us a table even though we hadn't booked, and very glad they did. The service was lovely from the two front of house guys, couldn't be more helpful and after asking a few questions we made our choice from the menu. The food arrived piping hot and was extremely tasty, we made the mistake of ordering a couple of extras which when the portion size arrived we realised they were not needed. Would highly recommend this place and the lamb kebab was out of this world, will definitely be returning. Thank you to all the staff that made us feel relaxed, welcome and most definitely full.

Came as a table of 3 and we were seated quickly. The restaurant was busy and the customers all seemed happy. The interior is lovely, whilst it is quite a small location, it is surprisingly spacious with the design. All the waiters were very friendly, welcoming, helpful and accommodating. This was my first experience of Turkish food so I cannot bear comment on its authenticity but I can assure you, I left full. I’d say that my fiancées halloumi starter was really salty, however, she loves salty dishes so it was perfect for her and she would definitely order that again. I had the Karizi izgara (possibly spelt wrong but means mixed grill essentially) which I thoroughly enjoyed, everything was chargrilled almost to perfection. My 14 year old son has a poor palate and in a way he is a picky eater and would rather have eaten a cheap garlic bread from a dodgy kebab shop, so I’d read nothing into this because he wouldn’t know good food if it slapped him in the face with a brick. Although on that note, I would probably not being picky eaters here. Despite this, he still enjoyed the meatball starter and half of his main meal. So, for my first experience for Turkish cuisine, I’d say I enjoyed it overall. Whilst I might not be back any time soon, it’s only for the reason that I think my personal preference leans towards Spanish, Italian and Oriental cuisine. However, I’d easily recommend this place to anyone who wants to try for themselves, as I can think of many of my friends who would prefer this over Spanish or Thai for example. Covid-19 precautions were being taken, plenty of access to hand sanitiser throughout the restaurant too which was a bonus. Having visited many restaurants recently, some have had a clear lack of appropriate social distancing and measures to reduce the spread of the disease.

Myself wife daughter and mother just had the most amazing meal we were all trying eachothers dishes and each and every dish was superb cannot wait to go back again but unfortunately we are not local which is a crying shame because if we were there is no doubt we would be regulars. Our host was Hassan and I wont embarass him by going into details here but he is the reason for this review title as he went above and beyond when it came to service (and more) a wonderful human being thank you Hassan for your incredible kindness. Cant wait for our next visit. Barry

Nice but very expensive! I visited the restaurant with friends and did enjoy my visit but they charge you through the teeth. The portions are small but tasty, I was annoyed to be charged £7 for two very small pots of chilli sauce. I can’t believe they would charge for a sauce, also was charged £2.50 for bread. It was nice but really didn’t warrant being charged for small items like that. Turkish restaurants are renowned for including and sauces so disappointing. I would have given a better raising if not for the prices

First time visit, and took advantage of the midweek offer of 20% off. The host and service was great throughout the evening. The menu offers plenty of choice, and our starters were all tasty, and the main lamb dishes selected were simply excellent. Great quality ingredients and expertly cooked and served... in my view. Turkish beer and wine, both good. Restaurant itself makes a very nice venue, with a really good atmosphere. Cant believe we haven't been before this, but we'll be returning for sure.

Visited this restaurant around 6pm one Saturday evening. We hadn’t made a booking but we were accommodated with no issues. The menu was extensive with plenty of gluten free options (for myself). The food was absolutely delicious if a little pricey but well worth it. Drinks were great too. Staff were pleasant especially the young waitress who served us. On receipt of the bill we asked if we could round up the amount - obviously with the extra being a tip. They explained that this wasn’t possible and as none of us had any cash we were unable to tip. We felt a little disappointed by this. We don’t always tip but do so for good service and on this occasion I felt the staff deserved it. Well worth a visit though and I will highly recommend.
