Absolutely excellent 1st experience

This was our first trip to a miller and carter restaurant, maybe because the nearest 1 to us is a 60 mile and a 1hr 25 min drive from the lake district where we live . We entered a lovely clean well lay out reception, greated by a lovely friendly and smiling front of house girl who quickly checked our booking and had us taken to our table where we were greeted by another happy helpful employee named Adrian , who was so friendly it was like we already knew him . He talked us through the menu explaining how the steak experience worked with its sauces and extras to accompany our meal . He quickly took our drinks order and was swiftly back with them while we pondered a little longer over the vast mouth watering menu . We decided on steaks as we had be previously told by other that to travel all that way and not have steak would be just stupid . Our choice of starter where the Yorkshire puddings and the chicken wings which were to die for . For our mains we both had the 50 day aged filet mignon although quiet expensive at £32 each it was the best steak we have both ever tasted . I would like to say a huge thank you to Adrian our waiter who made this 1st visit even more enjoyable by being so friendly smiling and attentive at all times and we will certainly be returning for more delicious food and great friendly atmosphere

A wide range of meal options and prices in a very pleasant environment.

We were a party of 4 and had booked a table in advance, although probably not essential at weekday lunchtime. We were warmly welcomed and chose a booth rather than a table. Our drinks order was taken quickly followed by our order for food, We did not mind a delay as our food was cooked to order. It was served precisely to our individual requirements, quality and quantity both being excellent. Although not cheap (£60.00 for 4 including non-alcoholic drinks) we all felt our meals were good value for money.

A much better experience

A few weeks ago I visited the St Anne’s Miller and carter restaurant and had a terrible experience regarding the quality of service we received. At the time I did not feel it of value to mention it to the manager in charge as I have heard a few reports of the service at that restaurant being bad. However, after hearing much better things about the poulton Miller and Carter we decided to book it for my brothers 18th birthday and we were not disappointed. The food was great and so was the service, as soon as we came in the reception we received was much more welcoming. Which is what you would expect from a restaurant where we were about to spend hundreds of pounds (as there was 6 of us) this is a memo that St Anne’s clearly didn’t get. Our server was called Liam and he was lovely, he was very attentive and I couldn’t fault him one bit. So thank you Liam for making our experience a much better one! We will be back

Management disgusting

We've been coming here since it opened and have had nothing but praise every visit, until tonight! First we have to praise Ryan who severed us tonight and in no way do we hold him responsible, 5 star service from him even though his manager put him in a very awkward position and should of dealt with it himself! We noticed right from the start the prices had increased to an additional £5 on stakes and around a £1 on everything else. Food was good, no complaints there, drinks were good along with service so no complaints there. We advised that we had a reward to redeem and also a voucher from Top Cash Back to redeem. Voucher and eat out discount applied but manager refused the reward discount of £10 from the reward app. The manager told Ryan that it had expired!!! Hold on you've been closed since March and my app states November 2020 expiry. At no point did the manager approach us to explain, even when I tried to get his attention on leaving, he walked away! Apparently the company advised all managers that rewards have all expired and not to accept. Absolutely disgusting way to treat regular customers, especially when everywhere else has extended their rewards due to Covid-19 and temporary closure. I can guarantee we won't be returning, nor will we recommend Miller and Carter to anyone. Ryan your customer service is excellent and you deserve to be working under a better manager than you are now, I presume this is Dave as printed on the receipt!

Worst experience ever! Avoid!

I went to this place today for lunch. The manager Luke expects the guests to sit eating their dinner in the cold with their coats on! As I witnessed today. After asking 3 waiters for the heating to be turned up with no result I spoke to the manager Luke, who said he is limited how much he can turn it up! I told him the radiators are on luke warm and people are sat in their coats! I went to leave and pay, he asks me “who was your waiter?” To which I reply “well ur the manager so you should know”. Then he points to the thermostat and starts to turn it up says “look I’ve turned it up to 29 degrees.” Despite previously saying he’s limited! Well yes Uve turned it up now we are leaving and how about checking the thermostat on the radiators and that the boiler is actually on! Avoid this place! I for one will never return! And will be writing to head office as I informed Luke today, but he didn’t seem to care or try to rectify the problem but continued to argue with me in front of other customers despite me asking him to leave the table as people were looking! Peas were hard, tiny portion of sea bass, we went in around 1pm and by 2pm all we had eaten was our starter, delivery of food was slow, and place was freezing cold, worst customer service experience ever! A very expensive and unsatisfactory experience!

Absolutely amazing. Staff and service were brilliant and the food was lovely. We only come here on special occasions but it never disappoints. Halloumi fries were delicious and my steak was cooked perfectly. The waiter was also very helpful with explaining to me the different types of sauces available for your steak.

Over rated and over priced

We've been here on a few occasions now, although the food is of a reasonable quality it doesn't warrant the prices or the hype. There are much nicer places to eat in Poulton for a lot less! A two course meal for two with two drinks was £90 which we don't mind paying if the food, service and surroundings warrant it. Our visit was not worth it!

Spoiled birthday

From sitting down to getting our main course, 40 minutes. The restaurant was quiet Monday 24th Feb. The starter was grim tasted much better bruschetta. However the best was yet to come. My main arrived and to say that the burger was cremated is an understatement. The burger was charred to black and so dry it just broke into pieces. Decided not to eat it as I valued my teeth. The only good thing that came out of this fiasco was the waiter. He was very professional and totally in agreement that this meal should not have been served to me. He tried his best and did not charge for the meal or the two soft drinks and a bitter shandy. However, this does not distract from the fact that my husbands birthday meal had been ruined by a chef who served up sub standard food in a restaurant that was not busy. We would have expected better than this for the prices Miller and Carter charge.

Not good enough.

Service was good . The fillet steak and 16 oz rib-eye were both overcooked which is disappointing when it’s a steak restaurant !! My wife’s 8oz was cooked as required. They offered to swop the steaks however my wife would be sat watching us eat if we allowed it . The starters were decent . The iceberg wedge to refresh the pallet didn’t really work as it came with the steaks . I had a voucher for a free glass of wine and when I asked about it was the Miller and Carter blend which she wouldn’t touch as vinegar tastes better , great way to upsell . The bill was in excess of £160 for three people which is a little expensive and when they can’t deliver there main product it’s disappointing.

We are disappointed to learn of your experience here at Miller & Carter Poulton Le Fylde, but will take this opportunity to improve. we will work with our kitchen team to ensure a quality experience is had by all, we ask our servers to do a check back to find such issues and if one meal is unaccepta ble we would always offer to take all meals back to the kitchen, the wedge however is not a pallet cleanser it is designed as an accompaniment to enhance the flavors of all our steaks, our house wine we do get a large number of good comments, Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you; we are more than happy to help!

Chateaubriand to die for

Tremendous. The chateaubriand is absolutely amazing but is well complimented by the staff, the drinks, and the kid's menu. A very rare type of restaurant bothers with actually making decent meals for children but ours were able to have solid quality burgers akin to the adult menu, but with a cut down Brioche suitable for their appetite. Fancy a change from kids having a burger? They can join in fully with steak cooked to order and at prices which mean you're able to feel you've had a great value family meal with good quality food for everyone. If I didn't know they were a chain, I'd say they operate like an independent which is definitely a good thing so well worth a visit if you want quality food not too far from Blackpool's busy, overcrowded promenade.

Faultless service!

Visited today for a birthday lunch with family, we were served by a man named Adrian. The service from the moment we arrived was impeccable, Adrian was very attentive regularly checking we were ok. The new system in place was explained on arrival, pointing out the one way system and ensuring we were aware of how to get to and from our table, with good spacing between tables and hand sanitiser located around the restaurant. When our main meals arrived one of the steaks was overcooked, this was dealt with swiftly by our server who sent it back to be remade, keeping us informed of when the new meal would arrive. At the end of our meal Adrian went out of his way to bring a beautifully presented ice cream out, with ‘happy birthday’ wrote on the plate. Overall we had a fantastic experience, the service was second to none and most definitely made up for the fact one of the mains was wrong. What an absolute credit Adrian is to the company, going out of his way to make our experience memorable and special given it was an occasion.

Good food mostly

The service was very good, which it should be given the waitress only had 4 tables she was attending to. The food was great, only down fall was my onion loaf was burnt to a crisp and inedible. The bramble spritz was poor, really tasteless with too much soda but the daiquiri was much better. I love steaks and the food here in general but it ain’t half expensive for what it is. 1991 called, it wants its decor back.

Poor Steaks for Birthday Dinner

Our family have been going to this restaurant since it changed hands for special occasions and also last New Years Eve We booked for 6.15pm when it usually is quiet. 2 of the steaks were tough and my husband left some of his because it was to chewy. I had my usual of butter chicken and sadly it was over cooked, dry and inedible round the outside .The only tender steak was the rib eye.I mentioned it was a special 87th birthday but the waiter seemed totally uninterested ( used to get greetings on the dessert plate).The first drinks did arrive promptly but the second was produced when we had finished our desserts, Very poor. They didn’t have the red wine we wanted but the Mocktail( which was reasonably priced) was lovely. I certainly would Not recommend this restaurant any more and will have to find somewhere else in the area.

Wonderful anniversary meal

We had a wonderful time this evening for our first dinner out since lockdown to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All government guidelines were adhered to and we felt really well looked after by our server Davis. He really did go above and beyond and is a credit to the team. The food and service were spot on. We love this restaurant and will definitely be back again soon. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience and again a big thank you to Davis. P.s I would just like to mention that the Sunday set menu is still advertised on the website but not offered in the restaurant.

This is the second time we've visited in recent months and having not sampled the chain before we have to say it was a very enjoyable experience both times. A lovely ambience, friendly attentive staff and perfectly cooked delicious food. The fixed price lunch option is particularly good value for money. Well done!
