Lunch with my son with beautiful seaviews and sea breezes. Best of all, was the Ricotta Pasta and with a nice white wine. My son had half a Hazzeldene chicken. Followed by sweets.

Had the family together and celebrated a birthday with a lovely breakfast The food was excellent. Served very quickly and was filling. Delicious. Fair price. Good coffee.
This was our fourth time here in the past 12 months and each time we enjoy the seasonal change in menus coupled with consistent outstanding service. This particular visit we give a shout out to Fi and Ben for great front of house service and...to Sara in The Traders for excellent knowledge on products.More
Been there twice now, once for breakfast and the other time for a late lunch. Both time the food was great and service very friendly. I would go back anytime without any hesitations.
It doesn't look much on the outside, but it's comfortable casual dining inside with exquisite food and wine. I highly recommend the confit duck + chat potatoes + sparkling red wine (by the glass or bottle). The duck is juicy and delicious and a good...size serve. To die for! We will be back again and again!More
Our only regret was we couldn’t indulge ourselves with wine tasting - as we were on our way home to Melbourne! And there are some magnificent Mornington Peninsula wines available here! I phoned that morning to see if there was a spare table for two...- and was lucky that Tim answered the phone to offer us the last position available - after all, this was brunch time Saturday. The Merricks General Store is a well known institution on the Peninsula and well worth the experience. I had the artichoke ravioli ($33) my husband had the mulloway fish fillet ($40) We also ordered sides of a beautiful fresh lettuce salad with radishes and cucumber. Husband ordered fries! Accompanied by fresh, crunchy bread, it was a most enjoyable meal. There is an ambience about this place that is difficult to describe: suffice to say everyone who is involved with its smooth operation ensures we are made to feel welcome. So my thanks to all those wonderful, efficient, friendly women who were on duty that day: and special thanks to Tim for making room for us!More
We have frequented Merricks a couple of times now pre and post COVID times. The service is excellent and quick. The seating arrangements are also top notch with our table at the rear with just a little sunshine peering through the golden brown autumn leaves....The food is also very good and extremely tasty. So, it seems as though Merricks has come out of COVID very well. Back for sure, but make sure you book otherwise you’ll be disappointed.More
We hadn’t been to Merricks General Store for a few years but it’s looking great ! They look as though they’ve renovated but very sympathetically. Mel was our waitress and she was lovely . We chose several small dishes from the menu for lunch. We...were a little disappointed that they no longer did platters . The produce is so fresh and tasty , absolutely delicious! You can tell they’re using local goods and local wines too. A lovely spot for lunch.More
Omggg this place is Beautiful simply amazingly gorgeous. An old general store that has captured, retained, and continues to display the beauty of the original design of the building. While it is repurposed into a very active restaurant with an extensive wine tasting experience in...the mornington peninsula. Service is quick and efficient. Food is delivered hot, beautifully presented full of flavors gnocchi is done nicely, pork belly delicious. And our waitress was energetic, efficient, and pleasant. This is a must stop and visit establishment when ever you are passing through the area.More
This a case of "if you can't handle it don't accept the booking". Twenty-five family members arrived for brunch at this venue after a wedding. The designated place presented two tables. It was insufficient to accommodate everyone comfortably. The menu turns out to be just...for breakfasts...Service was terrible, with misplacement of orders, unsolicited dishes, la folie" or pure madness in the kitchen and the serving. An hour later the manager approaches the diners and requests everyone to leave the venue, 40 minutes prior to what was agreed upon a week before. In a harsh tone, the host argues that menu orders were changed and that other groups were to arrive at any moment, and that due to logistics the bills had to be presented undivided and not broken in parts as requested. Rudeness and bad service left an unpleasant taste, as the very mildly fried eggs that accompany my dish. Change of attitude and servers training is much needed, otherwise, stick to over-the-counter salesMore
Midweek, around lunchtime in a low population area and an overflowing carpark at Merricks ! There has to be a reason. Welcome on the door outside -- Welcome on the inside. High ceilings and well placed tables ensures that even talking in whispers is heard....A good Menu to choose from, the Pasta Dish of Mushroom Fazzolleti was excellent. Wait Staff cheerful and attentive but with a full Restaurant service may be a little slow. Local wines. A very happy experience.More
We dropped in for a quick lunch and could not have been more pleased. It turned into a long lunch. Great wines, excellent menu. We shared hummus, kingfish and salami for entree. At main the chicken was a star. Perfect French fries. Moreish asparagus. Very...friendly staff, professional and friendly. Really looking forward to returning.More
My partner and I visited on a Saturday lunchtime for the 100th birthday crlebrations. I love salmon and eat it all the time, so ordered it only to find it stone cold in the middle and completely raw, like jelly. I sent it back and...asked very meekly and nicely to have it cooked a little more. The manager was so arrogant, first blaming the young waitress for not asking me if i wanted it raw or well done (wtf?) And then arguing with me that raw salmon is fine and she eats sushi all the time. Wtf? I was incredulous. I didn't want or expect an argument. We were paying a lot of money for stone cold, raw fish. Not sushi-grade raw fish, mind you. It was clear she didn't know the difference. But the cheek to argue with me is what floored me. We will never go back!More
Great atmosphere for sure. Had a beef burger which was tasty however at $33 it was ridiculously expensive. Beef patty with lettuce and pickles, accompanied by. potato fries so nothing out of the ordinary. Coffee was excellent however I passed on the dessert at $10...for a hedgehog or caramel slice for example. Prices were not justified at all.More
Such a lovely place. A real gem. Always tasty treats on the menu and friendly service every time. Yum
