Excellent place for an introduction to sushi in Japan. Modern take on sushi - with some cooked sushi - and allows a first timer to be eased into the world of sushi and sashimi. I liked the atmosphere of the place and the vibrancy of...the wait staff. Food was somewhere between good and very good - 5 stars from me as I am comparing this establishment to those of similar standards, not to be mistaken, this is not fine dining omakase, it's a bar. Menu was available in both Japanese and English and made it a lot easier for English speaking guests. We ordered the sashimi platter, 12 course omakase and a variety of sushi like the scallop, beef and otoro fatty tuna which melts in the mouth. Overall, was a good experience and reservations is a must. Make sure you book at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance to secure yourself a table.More

We had a great experience. The food was great and delicious! Best part was when they had a magician in the restaurant named Rook that entertained us briefly at our table. We got a good souvenir card from the magic tricks. Made our trip to...Japan much more memorable. Thank you Kinka team and Rook!More

In an area filled with conveyer belt sushi joints, it's nice to find a modern spot for sushi, sake and more. There is a bar as well as a larger dining area. We mainly focused on sashimi and sake (great selection!) and overall, enjoyed dinner....The sashimi had a nice selection, but our fave was the spoon filled with uni and ikura. Prices seem very reasonable compared to the US, especially for the quality. It's a nice spot for dinner with a friend or even a family, although I would definitely make reservations.More

Wonderful menu, great service, and delicious food. This place is a lovely experience. Located on the second floor in Shibuya, the restaurant is a little oasis from the hustle and bustle. Food is high-quality and delicious. Reservations are available. Highly recommend.

We found this place in Google Maps, it is small but has a nice atmosphere: young couples and groups, most seemed locals. We were greeted nicely and since did not have reservations were offered to be seated on the bar which was ok. The food...has a nice presentation and is good, overall we had a very nice meal. The downside is that the waitress that was assigned to us (I believe because she is pretty fluent in English) did not pay much attention to us and one of the cooks at the bar had to call her attention. Would definitely go back, making a reservation first.More

The restaurants are located in Roppongi and Shibuya. Roppongi is a town for older Japanese. Shibuya is a town where young people gather. Roppongi is for lunch. Shibuya was for dinner. The restaurant’s most popular item is mosaic sushi. This mozaiku sushi is not served...for lunch, but we visited the Roppongi restaurant. Lunch is not so expensive. However, to be honest, the taste is not that great. It is not bad, but the taste is not special. For mosaic sushi, we went to dinner in Shibuya. Reservations are required here. Make a reservation. We came back to the restaurant. This restaurant is full of young people. We were led to the counter. Finally, we ordered mosaic sushi. I also ordered the Aburi-zushi (sushi topped with slices of roasted sushi) set. While we were waiting for our order, two sets of Westerners came next to us.Japanese sushi is made by seasoning raw fish and making the most of the ingredients, such as vinegar or soy sauce marinade.More

I was able to get a seat at the bar, close to the sushi chef. And it was a beautiful experience. Both food and sake recommendations were perfect. If I have to add a weak point it will probably be the flavour of the gas...in the torched sushi. But cuts and textures were on point. One for Shibuya's list :)More

My wife and I ate here during our last night in Tokyo. The restaurant was able to take our reservation hours before we intended to dine. Kinka offers a wide variety of different Izakaya options, as well as sushi for a reasonable price. We ordered...dishes such as Octopus Carpaccio, Tamago, Grilled Yellowtail (served over perfectly cooked radish), Wagyu Sushi, Fatty Tuna Sushi, and Avocado Sushi. All were amazing! The atmosphere was very relaxing and our server was very friendly and provided great service. I will definitely be back during my next visit to Roppongi.More

The sushi is good, as we ordered the signature series. It even has beef sushi. However, I strongly believe with that price, you can go for boutique sushi bar instead of modern one. They use blowtorch on their sushi, making the taste not so original....We also ordered Chawan mushi and roasted pork (SP menu). Avoid these at all cost as pork has a certain strong smell. Price is on high side and reservation is needed.More

Our first meal in Tokyo proved to be our favorite -- delicious sushi, a good selection of sake and a warm, inviting atmosphere where no one is expecting you to eat and run. Loved the fatty tuna and the blow-torched sushi, which was new to...us and was so flavorful (we tried both the avocado and salmon). We booked through Open Table before we left home, which ensured our first meal after landing was a memorable one.More

We had a wonderful dinner experience at Kinka. Excellent fresh eclectic sushi! Reservations are helpful even for a weekday dinner. Nice atmosphere, friendly attentive service. It feels like the place is popular among locals, yet everyone who works there tried their best to communicate with...us in English and make us comfortable. Special pressed sushi are outstanding Highly recommendMore
