Loved the steak I order the Australian Wagyu Filet the presentation was amazing. The steak was presented on top of a bar of Himalayan Salt. Mixed drink was amazing too I ordered a Black Mamba with Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Hands down I’m coming back again and I highly recommend coming. Alfredo and Carlos helped me out and where very helpful.

Excellent service! I love coming here the food is so good not over priced and the service is so luxurious.. Juan has attended me several times and he’s so kind and always brings what you ask for right away, never misses a thing. Everything is spotless clean. And they always make you feel welcomed, my favorite part is the bean de cortecia I love it

Terrible restaurant. The music was playing very loudly and the music was more for a disco than a restaurant. We asked the staff several times to reduce the noise. We will never go there again. And I will ban it to everyone I know. So that they don't have hearing problems.

This was the restaurant we chose to gather the family what way to eat was an excellent choice cuts of meat like no other We ordered like 4 different cuts of meat and one was better than the other in other words everything we ordered was delicious

We have eaten at Sonora several times, now. For our medical staff, it's a solid/reliable backdrop for group meetings. We have also taken the family here, because there is a kids-only area, staffed by some very patient young people, whom we can only guess have some professional childcare training. They are a decided bright spot in the overall restaurant experience, and a boon to a family with multiple, young children. (We've triplets, age four!)
The food has been generally well-prepared, which one would expect for such an expensive venue as this is. More on that, in a bit. Some caveats, in this regard: 1) be certain you know exactly what you are ordering. Not all the entrees are to be found on the menu and, if the server offers you a daily special or one of the steaks, be certain you ask exactly what is included...and the price! Also, if you are traveling from the US, Canada or another English-speaking country, and do not speak Spanish or possess limited Spanish conversational skills, ask for a server who does speak English. Sonora does have several servers and other staff with passable spoken English, and there is enough about the menu and serving style that is not intuitive to make the difference between a good experience and a terrible one. So...don't be shy, ask...
Okay, the steaks - there are definitely some Texas-sized steaks at this restaurant and, if you are in the mood for a large chunk of beef, they can deliver it. HOWEVER, as above, do not order ANY steaks before asking the price, and do not hesitate to pull up your phone calculator. Our first experience at Sonora was equally superb and awful Superb, for our daughters..and the service. Awful, when we discovered that our steaks each cost more than two hundred dollars US. We did a search, online, after our meal, and found there were only one or two restaurants in all of the US that posted a steak more expansive than the two we ordered at Sonora. Note that our steaks were well prepared and tasted ...good. NOT $200.00 good. Not even close. I have had steaks at US venues Saltgrass ($30.00), Outback ($35), BJs ($25) and Killen's ($55) that were better...and the amenities, side dishes and drinks on par. So, buyer beware,...that steak may be just what you wanted, but you will pay more than you expected, for a good (but, not great) piece of beef.
Okay, other caveats: the menu changes, without warning. That means new things appear you may love, and that is wonderful news. At the same time, staples you have come to expect - such as your favorite burger - disappear, too. And, we suffered this kind of change, last time we visited. Ordering the favored burger, we discovered it no longer included a slice of cheese. Of course, some inquiry rendered the fact that cheese was still available, and the burger was ordered. Everything seemed fine, until the check arrived, and we discovered that we have been charged nearly $14.00 (US!) for that single slice of cheese. Why? Uhh...well, it no longer comes on the burger. It is sold separately, as a cheese plate. But, we did not receive the entire cheese plate, only one slice. In the end, after three servers, a floor manager and the general manager became involved, the charge for the cheese slice disappeared. A good meal managed to turn into an uncomfortable situation.
Again, we recount these experiences so that when YOU visit Metepec and are looking for a fun, comfortable, moderately elegant and kid-friendly steak place, you will have an excellent time at Sonora, knowing what to expect, how to order, and how to be proactive in guiding your own experience. We have given Sonora Grill four stars, because our overall experiences, over the past few months, have been positive. You will enjoy your time and your meal, once well-armed with the facts. Enjoy!!!

In the past I had very good experience in this restaurant but unfortunately not in my last visit. Quality of food was not to my expectations and price was much higher. Price vs. Value dramatically bad; much lower value. Also the music was too loud and not appropiate: I almost felt I was in a club not a restaurant. Drink prices way over any other restaurant, not to mention compared o a store and also the valet parking is not included in the already expensive experience. sorry. Very dissapointed.

I’ve been a regular visitor of this place and have to say that has kept his top place during the years (which is really hard to achieve), and over that time is (by far), the best place for either a lunch or dinner in this place of the world.
I’ve seen how the waiters have been trained and growth over the years and (as we all know), ATTITUDE is what makes the difference.
My gratitude to all of the team, (Carlos - THE Sommelier, Jorge - Manager, Victor - Waiter, the DJ - don’t know his name, and for sure to Einar - head of the best Sonora Grill branch), to over the years transform this place in my favorite restaurant in all Mexico.
