We were on our way back home and decided to stop somewhere in the way. It was a great surprise to find this restaurant in Valdemoro. Good food, good service, what else can we ask to finish our weekend?

We had walked by the Plaza de Santa Ana, the previous night. We wanted to have drinks and tapas, listen to the street musicians and enjoy the warm night. We accomplished all of that. And we picked La Fontanilla as the place to sit. Perhaps...it would have been different if we chose to sit inside. The tables and chairs that dot the plaza are serviced by a number of restaurants that circle the plaza. I suspect our lack of quick service was true of all the locations. Although many of these restaurants have a service station on the plaza for linens, silverware and basics like water, that doesn't mean they are manned the entire time. Our wait between items like drinks, appetizers and checking out stretched into long periods of nothingness. The drinks finally arrived. So did the food. Getting the bill was like pulling teeth perhaps they hope that while you are sitting there you will order another drink. In any case, the night was a success because it was fun watching the people. listening to the music and enjoying a light meal. But I might try someplace new the next time we want to sit in the plaza.More
