Visited for lunch, the restaurant is attractively located up on the hillside not too far from Potes and in good weather there is a great view of the surrounding mountains. We sat inside and the service was reasonably good. Unfortunately neither of us were particularly...impressed by the food. My partner had the eggs with mushrooms which was OK but nothing special. I had the baby artichokes with ham which I found quite oily and sat heavily in the stomach, the taste repeating for the rest of the day. We didn't stay for any further courses.More

so If you like rustic, authentic, regional and homemade / home grown this is the place for you. To start with the setting is beyond comparison with views across the Picos. The food is simple, very simple but absolutely delicious. If you like your steak...the t bone and the sirloin come from local herds - one of the best steaks I have had and reasonably priced given the provenance. Everything else about the meal was excellent value from the house wine at 4.50 euros a bottle to the homemade dessert at 4.50 euros - and again the homemade creme caramel was like nothing I have ever tasted. Service excellent and friendly. This place won’t be to everyone’s taste but for some it will be just the ticket.More

Casa La Madrid is such a find. The views from the terrace out across the picos are beautiful, so perfect for a drink and / or dinner. The two of us shared the traditional chickpea and meat 'stew' and green beans with jamon to start...(there is an English menu). Both were delicious and also huge portions for €9 and €7 respectively. Then we shared the beef steak, we went for the cheapest beef at €9.50 but it was a delicious cut and cooked perfectly! Also a huge portion! Shame we could not fit in dessert. The bottle of house red wine for €5 is a steal. All run by one amazing friendly woman who made us feel so at home and cooks everything fresh! Highly recommend! Much nicer than all of the tourist rubbish in Potes.More

We visited here twice after being recommended by our hotel. The views from the terrace in the early evening are among the most amazing we have ever experienced. The food is excellent - home cooked and fair prices. The service is attentive and friendly. The...owners are friendly and obviously care about what they do. We also tried the other restaurant in the village - not nearly as good. We will certainly aim to go back to this region and if we do, we would certainly go back to Lamadrid. Amazing experience and memories.More

Great food, in this lovely restaurant. The menu was traditional food, no menu del dia but very reasonably priced - all our mains were under €10. The service was very professional and the restaurant very smart. We had a great bottle of rioja for under...€5!More
