We’ve never dined in the restaurant but we’ve used the delivery service for four seasons. It’s faultless. They send the stove, extra gas, pot, and all the sauces and condiments. They’ll even pick up the dirty pot in the cooler the morning after! Delivery team...has always been friendly. The hot pot ingredients are of the highest quality, which we feel is worth the price. Milky soup base is flavorful. We added water as we prefer it less salty. Many people say you can buy the same ingredients at the supermarket. I’ve checked myself, and you cannot get the same quality of fresh meat and fish in Hirafu. It will cost you about the same, if not more, to take a taxi ride to Lucky in Kutchan and back. Wagyu beef is good but actually the Spanish Iberico pork shoulder is really good! Dumplings and squid rolls are homemade and delicious. Surprisingly, all of their sashimi items are excellent as well. They have a good source. This is Niseko - ten years ago it was expensive to dine here and it still is, but it’s nice to have much more variety now. Customer service from owner is really excellent. He even went out of his way to check if the new Park Hyatt would allow deliveries (they don’t by the way, so we changed our accomodations accordingly). Carry on Ryunabe! We love this place.More
The hot pot was delicious and the quality of the food was very high as suggested in other reviews. However, the food was heavily overpriced in this restaurant during the winter season. I understand it was the peak season in Niseko but did it have...to be that expensive? We were a group of 8 people (4 adults, 4 children) and we ordered only one set of hotpot with some extra side dishes (no beef). We ended up paying 60,000 yen that day! I would have given the restaurant 5-star if the price would not have been such a rip off.More
Went there during our holiday this week and enjoyed the nice welcome atmosphere and looking forward to the meal. It was definitely not bad - the food, the ingredients are really ok or even good and the explanation of the menu and service quite ok...- but nothing special or innovative or ... so in total we paid more then 350Eur for 2adults and our 8yrs daughter. If we do so we expect more ... more experience, more quality, more warm feelings ... So from our perspective you can eat there or enjoy the evening there as well. But be aware that it’s really pricy and not a special place to be... hope this will help you for your decision...More
We returned to this restaurant after eating there two years ago and experiencing Wagyu beef for the first time that melts in your mouth like butter. The hot pot soup is cooked for 36 hours and is delicious. It's not inexpensive, but well worth it!
I like the hot pot here very much. The hot soup is milky color and they use the toppest beef for hot pot which can melt side your mouth right after you it in. Sashimi is average as everywhere in Nesiko. And don't order abalone...which is pricy and nothing special. Highly recommend to order beef hotpot only. But it's not cheap. It's full house all the time in winter, so please reserve your table early to avoid disappointment. Tip: all High end restaurants are full house during peak seasons. Book it as soon as you confirm your trip or you may end up eating inside coffee shop daily.More
by hotpot standard, ryunabe is good and easily accessible. but it is EXPENSIVE. my family of 4 paid almost Y50K with a set order of 3 portion for DELUXE set. Unless you crave for Chinese style hotpot with Japanese ingredients.... you may want to skip...it.... the hokkaido milk based soup is highly recommended.More
Excellent sashimi followed by hot pot ( Japanese equivalent of burguignon fondue but cooked in broth rather than hot fat) with wagu beef vegetables, squid etc. Recommended cooking times provided v helpful. Would happily have done without the tongue which was v tough. All washed...down with large bottle of saki. A great Japanese experience but pricey.More
I eat at a lot of restaurants, a lot of expensive Michelin ones too. So what I mean by “overpriced” is it’s definitely not worth your money by ambiance, quality, skill, expertise etc. Honestly the only thing going for it is it’s one of the...few places in Niseko that serves high quality ingredients. But even with how much you want to over price sashimi or wagyu, most tourist traps would ask for 30-80% more of the standard fare price, Ryunabe charges well above 100-150%. Not even kidding. It’s luxury style shabu, Shanghai, Hong Kong Beijing, these places all have it. This is chinese hot pot too, and trust me innovativeness, creativity and even the richness or perfection of broth is lacking. Honestly altho their presentation and food quality is good, they could ask for $$$ or $$$$ price range. Which is ok. $$$$$+ is simply throwing money. I also want to add that the food wasn’t even good, mostly was just cuz the ingredients were good but as a hotpot dinner it was lackluster and just “okay”. I spend on food more than most foodies and I’m appalled at how they justify their prices, with the same amount of what we paid for we could’ve dined and ate so much better. Seriously, spend your money on what you want but don’t throw it away. P.S. for the record we got the full set with the expensive sashimi and the expensive cuts with the addition for a 6 pax portion. Maybe they justify it cuz it’s a tourist trap? But it’s still way more. The pictures seem they look nice but really a lot of it is advertising. Hotpot is more creative than just boring slices on a platter.More
The place is pretty expensive. Whilst the quality is top notch you can actually go to other restaurants with similar quality and doesn't break the bank.
