This is my third visit to Ezo seafoods and I must say that they always lived up to my expectations. Freshest seafood at reasonable price, they are not an affordable restaurant but you definitely get what you paid for.
Restaurant vibe is like a comfy seafood shack, when you walk in you are greeted with mini seafood market to see what the catch of the day. Then order from there. For drinks, many bottles of sake is available for you to choose.
Usually we goes to Ezo as large party so its easiest to ask James the owner to prepared an Omakase, given our approximate budget then we add on to the order of whatever we like.
We got started off with boiled king crab legs, fresh oysters, sashimi combo, squid, abalone- the abalone sauce was just awesome, scallop, steamed kinki, seafood paella. We add on to the order the Shirako tempura, which is delicious. And another shout out would be my favorite Ikura to order as a take out for breakfast. The way they prepared Ikura here is just perfect.
If you want Ezo, make sure you reserved well in advance, they are definitely one of Niseko must eat list.

This experience is a must if you are in Niseko. They only have take out and it must be ordered and paid for at least 2 days in advance. The presentation is beautiful and the sushi was so delicious. We also ordered some extra sashimi and rolls. There is wine, sake and beer at the store to buy when you pick up your order. A really nice treat, worth the cost.

Extremely fresh seafood offered in a novel but effective way. The owner, James, is a real pro who runs a great business Good value and fun setting explains all the walk-ins trying to get a table. Really is a "must go" place in Hirafu / Niseko. I ate there four nights ago and have already referred two groups to Ezo with similar responses from them. Aloha.

First, get your reservation in now or be at their door at 5PM to get access to the few walk-in seats available. Once there, select your meal from the live or extremely fresh seafood, add some rice or noodles and drinks and get ready for some really good seafood. The calamari and scallops were fantastic! The warm sake was a new experience and added to the enjoyment. Don’t miss the opportunity to eat the best seafood in town!

We had a most enjoyable meal of many different kinds of fish and seafood as recommended by the owner. When one member of our group wasn't feeling up to making the up hill walk back to the hotel and a taxi was going to take more than 1/2 hour to arrive, the owner gave us a ride back to the hotel in his van. Now that is service above and beyond!

Spectacular. James and the Ezo team treated us ‘fussy foodies’ to a spectacular meal in Niseko. Every one of their suggested delicacies was perfect. Book early or stand in the cold and try to get a table. You won’t be disappointed!

6 of us arrived at restaurant for dinner, only to find out we had booked for the following Thursday. The place was full but the Manager and staff were great and squeezed us in. The seafood was fantastic and the standout meal during the week’s visit. We shared plates of Alaskan crab, sashimi, oysters, scallops, calamari, prawns, and a whole snapper. All were very fresh, beautifully prepared and delicious.
Thanks again for squeezing us in and for the great dinner.

Wow disappointing quality seafood. Scallops for example had a chewy, unappealing texture. Crab legs alright but a bit dry for $50 for one leg. Not sure why this place has such high ratings!

After 11 years in the business we have a high degree of confidence in the quality and freshness of all of our seafood. However we accept your comments for what they are and will make extra efforts to ensure that Ezo Seafood's reputation for high quality is justified.
We ask all guests to freely raise any issues on quality or taste (or service) on the spot so that we can address them immediately. Having guests leave unsatisfied isn't good for anyone.
On another note, I am especially disappointed that I have not been able to satisfy a New Yorker! Pleasing New Yorkers is one of my pet ambitions...

This is a very popular but casual seafood restaurant at Hirafu, which was like seafood restaurants in my home country where you pick your preferred seafoods from the tanks & counter. Seafoods were fresh given Hirafu is closed to the sea. However, the seafoods were not cooked in a very refined way & tastes were only ok. The final bill was closed to that of a fine dining nearby.

For the second year in a row, Ezo delivered great food. We had the fresh oysters, a nice salad, and the famous red snapper with sweet chili sauce. The owner is a very hands on, great guy, and his wife is a fabulous chef. The red snapper is cooked whole and is one of the most delicious fish dishes we’ve had anywhere in the world! The restaurant is tiny and always packed so you must book it as far in advance as you can.

The best way to describe this restaurant is to say we would eat there every night of possible. All of the dishes that we had were amazing but the Alaskan King Crab was the absolute standout - followed closely by the snapper. Sensational food, well done James

I have been to Ezo for many years before Covid and it’s the first time I am back this January. No more dine-in which I really missed. Their cooked food was amazingly delicious. Fortunately, I could still get the sushi platter and a seafood platter. Overall was excellent quality, as always, and the highlights were the Hokkaido oysters and scallops. They were tasted like fresh from the sea! The owner is super friendly, talk to him to check out daily catch. Make sure you visit their website and pre book your takeaway.

We couldn't get a booking so we took a chance and rocked up at 8.15pm. So happy we did as we walked in and got a table immediately. The restaurant is small but the seafood was awesome, great selection and so so fresh. Very nice atmosphere and the staff were very helpful. The owner came and spoke to us later and was very friendly. Not the cheapest place but thats partly as we got carried away and ordered all the rock star dishes, sashimi platter, local oysters, king scallops, king crab and more. The quality and freshness makes it worth every yen. Will return next time Im in Niseko.

We were there on Christmas Day and it was packed (I booked way ahead of time). As usual, the quality of the seafood is amazing and despite being Christmas Day, the level of services is fantastic. It was a great meal on a special day. Thank you.

We luckily got to go to Ezo Seafood before everything was shut down 20/21.
As usual they delivered to their reputation.
Beautiful fresh seafood with a twist.
The Paella is great as was their chowder and the fresh seafood.
Very nice wines available too.
Booking essential and hopefully they open up early next season.
