Their meal is extremely delicious! Ise-Ebi(spiny lobster) and abalone, other type of shells all of them was great! Besides, Ama women diver and there staffs are so kind. Visited on a cold , wet day. We were met by an English speaking guide who showed us into a room where we could see the paraphernalia used by the Ama and watch a short video with English subtitles. After that we were brought to...a hut where an Ama served us a delicious seafood barbecue with shellfish , fish and a lobster each. She answered all our questions with the help of our guide and interpreter Well worth the visit, but best to have an interpreter if non Japanese speaking !More

I went to Ama hut with my friend and we had so much fun talking with ama. Ama-san is very friendly and they told us their stories about how long they’ve been Ama divers and how they became. Also the seafood is very fresh! I...couldn’t get to eat Ise lobster because it wasn’t the season for them yet but I had abalone and it was so tasty. The staff is very friendly and helpful too! I visited with 4 of my friends. This place offers very very fresh sea food with super reasonable price. They cook seafood just in front of you in BBQ style. According to my friend I visited with, the chef who cooked for us is actually...the person who dived and caught those sea food! All the food were perfectly cooked and super delicious.! Went there to have good seafood for lunch as my friend recommended me this place for providing locally caught fresh clams and fish. What's more is... AMASAN (professional female free divers) will grill and bake seafood in front of you!! These ladies really know how...to cook clams and seafood...! They'll offer you to eat when they're just nice, not raw or over-cooked. I especially enjoyed the fresh squid! Sweet and chewy, but soft enough to enjoy. This place is not just a place to eat, though! The real value is the conversation you'd have with AMASAN. Each and every one of these ladies have interesting experiences (I won't write them here so my review won't be a spoiler!), and are so hard working yet kind hearted that I simply admire. One thing I'd add is, if you don't speak Japanese, you might want to take someone who can help translate the conversation with AMASAN if you'd want to make the most of your visit. I went there with non- Japanese friends who don't speak a word of Japanese, but they said they absolutely enjoyed the interaction with AMASAN even through an interpreter.More

Really good experience at here. Thank you for good hospitality!! I recommend best seafood restaurant in this area!! Woman shell diver cooks well and so friendly. All seafoods are so fresh and it’s from near local ocean. Most seafood is catch on the day of...the morning. Lobster or abalone is main dish. Restaurant space is seem like historical but we can relax and eat. Service is good hospitality and restaurant staff is so kind and cute. Thank you!!More

We appreciated seasonal, local and fresh foods served by a real oama diver in the hut. She was expertly cooked. Her humble grilled Ise lobster was plump and tender. We strongly recommend you enjoy the local cuisine in this hut. And we visited Nakiri town...where we went up to a while lighthouse and bought fresh dried-fish. They were very delicious. Near future, We will visit there again.More
