The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
The tour of this unique museum was a highlight of our trip to Budapest. You can only visit the museum, which is about 1 km long, on a tour. Our tour guide Vera Veronica, was antimated, cheerful and knowledge. She gave a great tour! If you are from the medical profession or a history buff this is a must visit...

"Perhaps one of the best in town despite of not being city center"

Great food, fantastic service and a cozy athmospere even at night time and winter cold ..... the reservation process was top, the special arrangements (birthday cake superb) and despite being at night shift, the Menu A La Carte was great
Good choice but need a taxi to drive in as it is in Pest east... but a short drive .......
The bakery is small and nice, very good cakes and Hungarian specialties! of course it is not so restful as a place where to spend many hours because of the great number of tourists that come in. anyway, you can see Hungarian people still choosing it for their break, so you can understand that it is worthwhile!

We had no reservation but the waiter got us a table that was reserved 1:30hr later.
He was very friendly and service fast and correct.
I had the teriyaki spare ribs and although they looked burned black, they didn’t taste burned at all. Lamb shank with bulgur was very nice too.
Prices are a bit higher than you would expect...
The view of the Danube River from the hotel is very beautiful and the room is a suitable size for us, as a family of three. However, I did not give it 5 stars because I was not given a room on a higher floor as I requested.
Our stay in hotel Baltazar was not the first one. We appreciate the quite area. We love the small bar direct infront of the reception with the offer of the typical hungarian "pálinka".😊 The atmosphere of the hotel is very very pleasant and we will visit it surely during our next visit of Budapest.
Would of never imagined that I would be staying in a castle during my stay in Budapest but that is what this place was able to provide me with. The views are to die for and the rooms are fairly modern and comfortable.
A lovely cosy hotel in the heart of the old city. I have a nice large room and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I am staying by myself for work and have been made to feel at home instantly! I would certainly recommend this hotel.
Excellent hotel. Well placed for tourism. Staff were excellent and very accommodating. Food could have been hotter and better monitored. Bathroom floor was too hot but the room itself was very spacious, very clean and comfortable. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.
