The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
The view from this restaurant is the best in the entire city. It’s worth going for just the view (which is what we did). We were able to sit on the terrace which allowed us to enjoy the view for our entire dinner. In my opinion you don’t come here for the good but the view. It is fancy food...
Just a glorious spot! It almost felt unreal, it was so clean and picturesque when we first visited about 9:30pm one clear warm evening. It’s well lit and a great place for twilight photos! During the day, there are shops in the area and cafes, and it’s just a wonderful spot to visit. The views are magnificent and the whole...
Such alovely tucked away gallery with such a beautiful garden. The art work found here was really special and loved the sculptures found everywhere.
Great that it is free and strives to keep it that way.
Definitely worth a short visit for a break away from the crowds.
We saw the church as part of a tour of Castle Hill and fisherman's bastion. The church is very beautiful-the inside and out. Our guide shared info about the design and history. The tile roof is gorgeous.
I don't think this museum gets enough credit! I am not a huge museum fan, but I absolutely loved this one. It is so unique and interesting! The tour is all underground, and wax figures have been made to recreate scenes from the hospital. There is an interesting chart at the end about nuclear war and the impact of bombs...

We had an opportunity to dine at a very special place on the Buda side of the river. The caviar was wonderful, and the service perfection. The dining area in the back by the windows with the doors open really created a wonderful experience as well as it was a beautiful evening and seeing the lighting on the greenery we...
Nice café at a quiet place, very close to fisherman bastion. Owners are really kind.
Coffee prices 450-900 huf, cakes about 750 huf/ piece.
If you don't like sour coffee, don't go for espresso for sure.

Nice cosy place for fine dining funs. Excellent food, friendly staff and quality service. You can choose from two menu lists and you can have only dinner or dinner with vine selection. If you choose the second one after every course you will get the most suitable vine to the course. I would recommend to everyone for who food is...
We stayed 3 nights in the Mansard Double and my parents stayed 3 nights in the Love Nest room , both rooms were awesome and the breakfast was superb! The bed was our favorite of our 2 weeks European trip!

Stayed at the Pest-Buda Hotel for 4 nights in June. Really enjoyed the quieter Buda side of the city and the hotel is literally 200m away from Matthias Church and the Fisherman's Bastion which are spectacular....take a walk there after dinner when the buildings are all flood lit and the crowds are gone.
Our room was extremely spacious (Room 14),...
"Lovely view of the Danube and Parliment Building!"

My husband and I stayed here one night before joining a riverboat Cruise. The location was perfect for us. Very close to the Chain Bridge and within walking distance to Fisherman’s Bastion area.
The hotel was very helpful in providing a ride from airport even when our flight was delayed several times. They made (and then cancelled due to flight...
We loved the Baltazar!! We were four adults traveling to Budapest for the first time and stayed for 3 days at this wonderful hotel. The location couldn't be better -- the Castle Hill area on the Buda side of the river is stunning. We could walk to many sights, restaurants, and even went to a concert. And this side of...
Did a BA mini break
Lovely hotel in lovely position
Suffered a bit from large tourist groups
I was given a twin room not facing the Danube but wasn’t offered at the time of booking so not Hilton’s fault
They tried to resolve but never quite made it with double duvet
Breakfast was too busy most of the time and...
