- Radio_Caroline_NLAmersfoort, The Netherlands133 contributionsEven nice in winterVisited the botanical gardens during a work trip in Atlanta. Even in winter, it was worth a visit. The greenhouses were very nice and vibrant. The variety of green houses was also very appealing, one of them was under construction, but there was plenty to see. Recommended to visit, especially in spring or summer, it will be even better then.Visited January 2024Travelled on businessWritten 20 February 2024
- CAC1002013Canaan, Connecticut52 contributionsA beautiful place to rejuvenateThe Botanical Garden is fantastic. I spent a couple of hours walking through the many gardens. The grounds are well-kept. The exhibits are amazing with the different colors and multitudes of flowers. Benches everywhere to sit and take in the view. The gardens are a great place for solitude and peaceful reflection. A beautiful place to spend a few hours.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 30 March 2024
- zdaati4,660 contributionsNiceInteresting but rather expensive at 26 USD. Not sure it is worth that but some nice areas to walk and see. Nice to walk through and not difficult. Parking is there as well. The park is free close by so have a walk through, there is a lake.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 April 2024
- restrapoMontevideo, Uruguay423 contributionsA Glimpse of ParadiseThe walk through Piedmont Park to arrive at the Botanical Garden was a nice prelude to the splendor of nature, peace, and tranquility that I encountered in the Garden. I suspect one could spend easily four hours in the Garden. I specifically was there to see artwork installation of a friend and business colleague. Highly recommend the Garden.Visited April 2024Travelled soloWritten 26 April 2024
- kleicSan Antonio, Texas1,104 contributionsWhat a pleasure to walk around! There's a reason why this lovely place is at the top of people's lists of places to visit in Atlanta. In the middle of a wonderful park, it is beautifully maintained, easy to navigate, and filled with absolutely wonderful natural spaces. The bog garden and the orchid house were among our favorites but the whole place is just gorgeous and obviously cared for. If you are a member of a botanical garden in your hometown, ask if there's reciprocity as you may be able to come in for free.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 28 April 2024
- KevinMountain View, California292 contributionsNice, creative botanical gardenThis is a nice place to spend 2-3 hours walking around to see beautiful scenery. I admit I'm not the biggest fan of botanical gardens normally, but this is a good one to see. It's a little on the pricey side (we went on a Saturday so it was $30 for admission), but I'm glad I visited. The Earth Goddess and Alice in Wonderland displays were under construction when we visited in the latter half of April unfortunately, but they were at least out for viewing so we could physically see them (not in full bloom of course), so at least we got to get an idea of what they would look like when they open later in May. Even without that, there is plenty of gorgeous scenery all around the 30 acre garden. Fountains, indoor gardens, and flowers just starting to bloom considering it was spring time. Very colorful. A little expensive, but nice place to check out. Plus, it's next door to Piedmont Park, so you can walk over there after your visit to get some more nature photos.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 May 2024
- Jessica GLockport, Illinois100 contributionsAbsolutely BeautifulAbsolutely beautiful gardens, a huge variety of plants to enjoy. If you are looking for a relaxing and beautiful escape, I highly recommend this! Parking was available for a reasonable cost (I think around 3/hr) and cocktails and food was available for purchase inside the garden.Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 28 May 2024
- rleeWinston Salem, North Carolina10 contributionsBotanical GardensThe gardens are so beautiful and relaxing to walk through. We got there just after opening, so it wasn’t hot. I enjoyed the Alice in Wonderland Topiaries especially. The one that features Alice spins like she is falling down the rabbit hole. It was a relaxing morning and a great way to start the day.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 8 June 2024
- Madame_TreyNairobi, Kenya516 contributionsCool Alice in Wonderland displayIt's difficult to find activities appealing to teenagers. When my daughter suggested the botanical garden, I was shocked. She had done her research and the Alice in Wonderland displayed was EXTREMELY instagrammable and was a must visit on our trip to Atlanta. The gardens are spectacular with drool worthy picture options at every turn. I personally found the signage not clear. Interactive maps would have been better. In addition, while there were explanatory signs at each display for Alice in Wonderland, a large pictorial connection to the book would have more impact side by side. The gardens are a welcome reprieve to the concrete jungle of Atlanta. I noted that there is a restaurant serving brunch and cocktails and would happily book on a return visit.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 24 June 2024
- KirstinFairfax Station, Virginia79 contributionsAbsolutely beautiful, inside and outside. The orchid house is a reprieve from the heat.Highly recommended. Beautiful permanent collections as well as an integrated special exhibition for Alice in Wonderland. The topiary sculptures are stunning and playful. The singing flowers come with their own background music! It’s an oasis in a hot city with the Atlanta skyline serving as a backdrop to the large green. The orchid house is a total gem! Enormous with many different plants and such a welcome break from the heat. We also loved the frog statues sprinkled throughout the grounds.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 30 June 2024
