Skálholt is one of the most historic places in Iceland. The site is rich in culture and history and is a perfect stop for history buffs on the Golden Circle. Today Skálholt is a place of history, culture, spirituality, faith and music. Visitors are welcome all year round. The cathedral and museum is open from 9 am - 5 pm every day all year round. The restaurant is open from 10 am - 4 pm. The Cathedral is a beautiful building known for it's powerful altar piece made by Nína Tryggvadóttir and the spectacular glass stained windows bade by Gerður Helgadóttir. On a sunny day the windows cast a colorful light all around the chuch. The acoustics in the church are one of the best in the world and many concerts have been held there. Skálholt was a center for education, religion and administration for over than 700 years and a place of pilgrimage in medieval times. Due to it's rich history archaeological excavations have been made on the site.

Gallery Floi is a workshop and store where the artisan works with glass, melts and forms it ower a open flame into glass beads and other objects of art. The artisan also works with ceramics that is sold in the store. Gallery Floi specializes in working Viking beads and other types of glass beads. Everything in the store is handmade and worked on site from quality material.

Wood&Art is an active workshop and gallery that is both preserving and adding to the history of craftsmansship and inventions on an ongoing basis. The gallery is an old barn that the couple Olafur and Bergthora remodeled in their spare time. We offer horseback riding with personal service for small groups of people. We always begin inside our riding arena where you can get to know your horses and we will teach you all the basics about riding. Then we go outside and ride with you. There are safe and good horses for both unexperienced riders and as well for experienced riders. You can choose between 1, 2,3 or 5 hours riding trips!

We welcome you to our store, where you can find Icelandic quality design and crafts in a cozy atmosphere. Sweaters, scarfs, socks, hats and so much more from the Icelandic firms Farmers´s market and Feldur, chocolate from Omnom, salt from Saltverk and so much more :) Icelandic artists Erna Jonsdottir and Kristjan Egilsson offer us beautiful handcrafted things.
