We highly recommend Safari Soles for your Tanzania adventure. We completed a 9 day tour in mid-January that included 6 days on safari (Tarengerie, Lake Manyara (day & night), Southern Serenghetti, Ngorongoro Crater), and a day each exploring Arusha city, the Datoga & Hadzabe tribes, and hiking a little bit of Kilimanjaro. They’re very willing to customize an itinerary to fit your desires while staying within a budget. Our safari driver, Isaack, may be the best one in Tanzania. He is kind, caring, & organized, and his experience navigating the parks & large network of friends allow you to see a lot of animals. He truly loves his job and wants his guests to leave happy, even if it means sitting with animals for a while to witness something special or take the perfect photo (he has a knack for getting the best parking spot). Overall, we spotted at least 85 different animal species, including the African Big Five and a few less common ones. Granted, we woke up early per Isaack’s suggestion since it gave us more time to see and be with the animals (we were first guests in two parks). The complimentary drinks on the clean jeep are plentiful, and the mid-range lodges & camps are all well-maintained (some having air conditioning & WiFi). Food throughout the trip was tasty, which included a variety of country-grown vegetables & rice, and traditional meats & seafoods. They offer mostly hot meals, which are far superior to the boxes that other companies mostly offer. Shout out to Chief & Andrew for assisting us on city & hiking days, respectively. We have zero complaints; it’s hard to believe there is a better company than Safari Soles, and all the money they make stays in Tanzania since they’re locally owned. We will miss Tanzania, and especially Isaack, who we consider family now since that’s how he treated us all week.

Safari Soles are a local Tanzanian owned and run company, unlike many other international tour companies who masquerade as such. We had the absolute best time as a family on a 7 day safari tour of Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro national parks. Estomi was our guide who was absolutely outstanding - polite, helpful, enthusiastic and immensely knowledgeable, he managed to cajole our two teenagers to daily 6-7:30am starts so we could get the very most of our game drives each day. And they were incredible - we saw so many incredible sights. There was a lot of driving in between but Estomi always did it with a smile on his face, and when any news comes of exciting animals in the vicinity he was always happy to detour to help us see as much as we could. And he had immense patience to wait for me with my camera to take the best shots available, and have great advice too on animal behaviour to get the best angles and best photos. The food was always delicious and plentiful, and the accommodation (we went mid-range) was also excellent, from the slightly more upmarket feel of suricata boma lodge and Arusha farm house, to the more rustic (necessarily so given their location) but still lovely Serengeti Safari lodge and Embalakai tented camps. The jeep was clean, well stocked and perfect for the journey. The communication with the office both before and during the trip was also exemplary, with Raphael and, in particular, Renatus being very professional and responsive. Also to note that booking directly with them (rather than a third party) will save you some money too. Our 6-day honeymoon safari with Safari Soles Tours was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. The comprehensive itinerary document prepared for us built our excitement and prepared us for the adventure ahead. Our guide, EMMANUEL DOHHO, was truly exceptional. With 20 years of experience, his extensive knowledge of wildlife, the parks, and Tanzania was evident in every aspect of our journey. His professionalism and genuine dedication to making our honeymoon special were really appreciated. Emmanuel's expertise in timing our daily activities ensured we maximized our wildlife viewing opportunities while not feeling rushed or tired. The wildlife viewing exceeded our wildest expectations – Emmanuel told us that safari/game drives are like playing the lottery. Well, we hit the jackpot! Not only did we see the Big 5 (including lots of lions), but we encountered over 60 different species of animals and birds. The proximity to wildlife was breathtaking, creating unforgettable moments we'll cherish forever. Our vehicle was well maintained and stocked with water, wine, and beer. Seeing other vehicles experiencing breakdowns really made us appreciate Safari Soles' commitment to vehicle maintenance and our safety. The accommodations we planned with them gave us the variety of experiences we wanted. From comfortable tented camps to luxury lodges. Each location we stayed at - including Sero Tented Camp, Suricata Boma Lodge, and Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge - provided excellent service, comfortable rooms, and delicious meals. We really appreciated Safari Soles’ customer service. When our flight time changed on the last day, they quickly adjusted our itinerary and provided a fair refund for the shortened excursion. After our safari we spent our last night in Arusha and then visited Kikuletwa Springs with Guide Balthazary. He maintained the same high standards we experienced throughout our trip. At first, we chose Safari Soles after contacting and talking (by email) with 3 other tour operators. Communication was friendly, easy and the documents sent with details of our tour of high quality. The price of the safari (mid-range 4 parks 6 days + 1 day walk to the waterfall) was slightly lower than that of 2 other agencies. One of the agencies offered it at a better price, but the documents were not of high quality and the communication less pleasant, we had "eliminated it from submissions". So we chose Safari Soles. Our guide was on time the first day, very "pole-pole", but kind friendly and smiling. We had good discussions and enjoyed Saïd, who spoke very good French and knew the animals and their names (I asked a lot about animals). The jeep wasn't as new as the other companies we met and the seats needed extra cushions to be comfortable (which unfortunately didn't lean), but we had no problem with the vehicle, even in the mud, we never got stuck, our guide was a good driver! I saw other Jeep from Safari Soles more recent, maybe the price paid made us have the model a little older. At the time, we were disappointed with the vehicle, that's why I mention, but it didn't stop us from having an excellent safari and we were regularly standing in the jeep, enjoying the "ride" and the view of the plains, because we were in private, so that the two of us in the back, what HAPPINESS! P.S. Be sure to bring your binoculars, they are essential on a safari and our jeep was not equipped with them. We had a great safari and loved Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. A little less appreciated Manyara, probably because we never saw lions climbing trees and the road was far from the lake. Our guide always took the time to get us to where he thought we would see birds and animals. We are so in love with animals that he did this for us. The planned "hotels" were all nice and some amazing, such as the Suricata Boma Lodge, Farm of Dreams Lodge and Serengeti Safari Haven in the center of Serengeti & Ndutu. All the meals we ate were very good, at the hotel, for dinners and lunches, then lunches, because we had the Big Lunch Box with "warm full meals", NOT cardboard lunch box. It was great, we really enjoyed the meals. We really had a memorable time in Tanzania and I think we had never smiled and felt so much pleasure with a light heart and grateful to be able to live these moments. We were blessed in every moment. I would recommend Safari Soles to everyone!! Incredible experience from the beginning emails, customizing the itinerary, payments, and the whole 10 days in Tanzania!! I knew from the start that we would be in great hands. We were greeted at the airport by Chief. He then took us to our hotel to drop off our bags in Arusha and then we set off to explore the city. He was knowledgeable of the area, made us feel safe, and taught us some of the common phrases in Swahili. On a seven day safari, the opinion of children are probably the most accurate, my girls would give Innocent 10 stars if they could. Innocent was an absolutely amazing guide. His knowledge about the animals, the terrain, and the culture really brought the experience to life for us. What stood out the most was his kindness, patience, and wonderful sense of humor, making our trip not only educational but also fun and relaxed. We appreciated how organized and punctual he was, ensuring that every day ran smoothly and efficiently. It was also evident that he was highly respected by other guides and staff at the lodges, which made our experience even better. He drove with great caution on the dusty roads or wet roads, pot holes, weather, and between parks. If you get the chance to request your guide, I can’t recommend Innocent enough – I would definitely plan my next safari with him! Innocent dropped us off at the airport in plenty of time to catch our flight to Zanzibar where we were able to relax for a couple of days to the end the holiday vacation.

My dad and I did a 7-day Tanzania Wildlife Safari with Safari Soles and it was the best experience we've ever had, which managed to top itself each day! The overall experience was great, Abdul our guide was fantastic and the nature we saw was outstanding! I initally contacted Safari Soles several months out and recieved a quote from Laurent. He was very patient and answered all my queries as well as followed me up (which is always appreciated when work starts to take over!). On our arrival to JRO we were transported t our accommodation outside Arusha, this is also where we would end the trip. The next morning we met our guide Abdul who was with us for the next 5 days. Abdul took us to 4 national parks: Tarangire, Central Seregeti, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater. Not only did he have the best eyesight, being able to spot animals we struggled to see with binocular's, Adbul patiently and comprehensively answered all our questions, safely transported us, taught us swahili and overall gave us an experience better than we could have dreamed. By the end of the 2nd day we had seen 4 of the big 5, by the final day we'd seen the big 5 and had multiple close up encounters with lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras and much more.Our final day we went to Kikuletwa Hot Springs before heading to the airport and it was very relaxing. Note that the schedule saying that there is a morning / afternoon game drive, there isn't downtime. Our trip was jam-packed on the road the wholetime which was exactly what we wanted. Most of the accommodation was very good, some seemed to be bit on the outskirts, but we were always well looked after, felt safe, had clean rooms and given brilliant meals. Where we stayed in Central Serengeti was truly wonderful. This was a spectacular safari and we're already trying to work out how soon we can come back.

It was daunting trying to book a safari...so many companies to choose from and such a financial investment we wanted to get it right. Safari Soles ensured that we got the experience that best suited our family in a way that we could afford. Regina responded to my queries very patiently and efficiently. The few miscommunications were immediately sorted. Frank gave us a tour of Arusha and a sunset walk which was great. He was very warm, friendly and knowledgeable and we were immediately reassured that we had chosen the right company. Iddy was our safari guide and he couldn't have been more thoughtful or attentive in trying to make sure that we had the best possible experience. He asked what we wanted from the safari and over delivered! He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He ensured we were comfortable and knew what to expect. The accomodation and the meals were fabulous. It was a holiday of a lifetime. If only we could do this again!

Having done a 7 day safari with Safari Soles last year, we decided to return this year for a different kind of adventure. Bryson and his team prepared a week-long itinerary of all the activities we didn’t have time to do last year: - mountain biking - horse riding safari - canoeing on Lake Duluti - Arusha National Park - a full day at the hot springs (we loved it so much last year that we wanted to return!) - hiking and zip-lining - a chill out day in Arusha - visit to an orphanage to drop off some clothes and shoes (arranged by Chief last-minute) Favourite activities were mountain biking, horse riding (with zebras, buffalo etc etc), canoeing and, of course, the hot springs! We requested Chief as our guide for our day trips - he is the most wonderful person who will go out of his way to make sure everything is exactly right. We stayed at the Farm House which I can highly recommend. An oasis of calm, a lovely family feel, great staff, beautiful pool and gardens. We flew from Kilimanjaro to Madagascar via Nairobi…halfway to Madagascar, we realised we’d left my son’s cuddly toy in Kilimanjaro airport. Total panic!! We messaged Chief as soon as we landed and there was an entire Safari Soles operation launched to rescue him with Chief, Oscar and Bryson all making calls to contacts in the airport, driving to get the toy from the airport, driving it to my sister’s place in Arusha. I had an amazing tour with Isaack who was our guide. We booked an 8 day tour from Arusha to northern Serengeti and the whole process of planning the private tour was so easy. The team was super responsive and made all the changes I wanted to our itinerary. On the tour, Isaack exceeded our expectations and went beyond to make sure we saw all the animals and even saw the migration crossing twice! He answered all our questions and was extremely knowledgeable. When we saw lions and then said let’s go, he said no wait and we saw lions in action. Just the little things he did really made the tour amazing. I completely recommend this tour and would be happy to do it again!

We just completed our custom private safari with Safari Soles and loved it! Magreth in sales was very patient and helpful in developing our itinerary. Everything went as promised from the time we were picked up at the airport to the time we were dropped off. Our guide, Ernest, was very knowledgeable and patient with all of our questions about the culture, parks, and animals. We never expected to see as much as we did!
