    Best way to get around
One of the best systems in the world you will find it on time safe clean and the cheapest best way to get around. For first time travelers make sure you get a copy of the MTR system and it’s pretty/easy to work out where ever you’re heading to. For anyone over 65 ensure you get a senior octopus card as this will reduce most of your trips to 2 HG dollars a real bargain

    Fantastic service
Wow. What can one say! The trains have good coverage for just about everywhere you want to go, they are very frequent, they are spotlessly clean, they are quiet and they are cheep. The whole experience is way, way better than the filthy, unreliable, noisy and expensive excuse for a transport system we have in London and the rest of the UK. We purchased an Octopus card which also worked on the busses, trams and Star ferry. At the end of our stay we handed the ticket back, had the deposit refunded, together with remaining cash balance less a very modest admin fee.

MTR the cheapest way to get around HK! Even from the airport to your hotel
The Hong Kong MTR is the most efficient and cheapest way to get around HK. From the moment you land in HK until you are settled in your hotel and start exploring the MTR is your way to get around HK. Would recommend you buy at Octopus Card (travel card) it costs HK$200 and includes HK$150 credit. This will get you in and out of the stations quickly and efficiently. This can be used on ferries/trams/buses and trains. The MTR has a wonderful network - easy to navigate. Signed in Chinese and English. You can transit stations and different lines easily. The stations and MTR are very clean Explore HK - use the MTR

Hong Kong MTR - super efficient!!
We found Hong Kong’s MTR super convenient, fast, clean and a reliable way of getting around. You can download their app and use the trip planner for suggested routes and estimated transit times and cost. Great way to get to your hotel from the airport using their AirPort Express. All the MTR staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly whenever we needed assisting. Exiting the MTR station can be confusing ( there’s multiple exits ) so check you’re leaving the right one for your destination. Look for elevators if you need and don’t forget to get your deposit and unused funds back on your octopus card before you leave HK.

    MTR
The easiest, cheapest and fastest way to transport in Honk Kong. There are two colors first Island Line (navy ): runs across Hong Kong Island from east to west. second Tsuen Wan Line (red): crosses Victoria Harbour from Hong Kong to Kowloon before going up the peninsula. It connects to the Island Line at Central and Admiralty, and makes stops at places of interest like Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok. Airport Express (dark green): the MTR Airport express connects Kowloon and Hong Kong (Central) with the airport. Furthermore there are two kinds of cards to use the MTR Octopus Card: this rechargeable contactless smart card can be used on almost all means of transport in Hong Kong and offers a discount or Single ticket for one Journey. I like MTR especially when I come to Disney and to ocean park.

    Excellent and inexpensive subway system
Of all the public transportation in Hong Kong, MTR is not the cheapest but it is the most convenient with its extensive network coverage. It is on par with the best subways in the world as it is clean and efficient. Bear in mind that there are usually many exits for a station which means you should select the proper exit to avoid confusion upon reaching ground level. Also there are some moving walkway between exits but not all exits are served by moving walkway.
