Stumbled upon this after visiting the nearby Rock. It is located close to the exit from the Cable Car. Great place to spend some quiet time amongst the variety of succulents and cacti which we might be more used to seeing in glasshouses in the less warm northern climes.

I love walking peacefully down the paths to go down town from the south district but this morning my walk was disturbed by a man speeding away on a bicycle by a narrow pathway! I told him it was a pedestrianised area and he couldn’t care less! And a few days ago same thing happened but this time a man on an e-scooter coming down one of the hills I had to move to one side to let him pass as if he had right of way & no concern for pedestrians! I nearly toppled over because I have recently had a knee replaced and I usually like to walk the gardens with no disturbances but I think that lately it’s become a free for all! More notices should be placed so that people abide with rules & regulations!

Close to the cable car the entrance has a flight of steps with no hand rail. Fortunately there is an alternative wheelchair entrance around the corner. Wonderfully peaceful with a wide range of plants. It is on a slope which can make it hard walking some time. Also steps without hand rails in places which meant having to miss certain areas. Did not make it to the Alameda. Would be helpful to have some suggested routes to that avoid areas with steps.

Small but beautiful botanic garden complex about 15 or 20 minutes walk from Main Street. I really enjoyed a ramble in such a peaceful place. Completely free and lots of benches scattered around to sit on and enjoy the place.

From the hilltop, take in the fantastic views of the whole town, the Bay of Gibraltar, and the Mediterranean.
