Very close to the train station and walking distance to the entrance of the park . There is a moat surrounding the castle and the park with various tour boats filled with gleeful tourists . The walk up to the Castle is gradual and has many beautiful foliage and surrounding views. The Castle is just such a. Beautiful structure that commands admiration from the base to the top of the tower. The Castle is now a museum that attracts many people and if you don’t have tickets online the wait is usually quite long and in our case over 1 hour . The grounds are just beautiful with many attractive picture opportunities. In spring over 300 cherry trees are in full bloom . The views from the main tower of the castle are spectacular especially on a clear day . The area is so tranquil and beautiful it compels visitors to stop and enjoy the scenery before you . Closer to the train station are various restaurants and shops to visit .

This park is over 100 hectare around the Castle ground , it is a Alice in Wonderland during the Cherry Blossom it is oasis in the city , lot of locals with family flavor hang out , well maintained with natural beauty with historical elements with past and present of city , lot of cultural festivals held here , the Castle featuring museum with multiple floors to export , with small entrance fee , best idea is entering through Otemon Gate , where the castle is close by , very relaxing place you can easily spend whole day here . lot of walking and my legs were feel like jelly but very enjoyable ! must visit .

Hot, hot and hot! Worth for a ride but absolutely in the afternoon!! (Watch the times with otherwise I would have done 17/19 to enjoy a walk. Bring water and take the train (better) with a few euros turn it around in 20 minutes without getting tired.

We had a pleasant walk around the Osaka Castle Park on New Year's Day and felt we got some very nice photos. The castle was closed when we visited but we still enjoyed the park. We got off at Ōsakajōkōen Station after taking the circle loop line from Osaka Station and there was a nice area with some restaurants and cafes. Near the park we found a couple of vendors selling street food including cheese coins and pancakes with pork inside. We would recommend wearing good shoes here and around Osaka because there is lots to see while walking around.

Huge park (about 1 km per side) with lots of paths for walking. The castle itself is the star, of course, but I particularly enjoyed the walks alongside the moats. I was here twice, for about two or three hours each time, and could have spent more time. The view of the castle from the Japanese garden is particularly good, and the Japanes garden, while small, is beautiful. Even if you don't go into the castle (which is extra cost), it's worth walking around it, to get an appreciation for its architectural detail and its size. There are a few places to buy food and drink on the periphery of the park, as well as a few food stalls scattered throughout the park.

We reached there early around 8am before the tourist groups arrived. The weather was great. A very kind gentleman took our pictures for free at a spot which we would never have known - where we got a great reflection of the castle in a pond. We had the JR pass, so took the train to the castle from Osakajoukoen Station, and took the one back to our hotel from Morinomiya Station, so we got to see different parts of the park.

Osaka Castle Park is a peaceful escape with a touch of grandeur. The castle, with its impressive architecture and rich history, stands proudly at the centre, surrounded by lush greenery. Strolling through the park, I enjoyed the serene ponds, cherry blossoms, and friendly locals. Climbing to the castle’s observation deck offered lovely views of the city. A delightful blend of culture and nature!

Many people on bicycles, some running, many walking in the park on good roads, surrounded by nature and water from historical architecture. With dominant monument in the middle, it is luxury to spend time here. There are places for field sports and stadium very close by

The Osaka Castle park is small compared to the huge forested grounds that encompass it. The actual site sits on a knoll, so expect a gentle uphill stroll as you approach the gardens. The park is surrounded by several subway lines. The one I used was Temmabashi Station (on the Tanimachi Line); and, that was about a 10-minute walk away. There's excellent views of the Osaka skyline; and, it's free to enter the garden. However, there's a ticket booth to enter the actual castle, and sometimes that line is long.

Osaka Castle sits in the middle of this lovely park which is a highlight in itself. There are many great views of the castle as you approach including from the Gokuraku-Bashi bridge which crosses the inner moat. There is also an iconic view of the castle from the picturesque Japanese gardens. Any visit to the castle should allow time to explore the grounds, the moats and the surrounding fortifications. It is easily accessed from either Osakajokoen or Morinomiya stations on the JR loop line.
