Located along the Willamette River and its namesake lake, the city of Lake Oswego has a beautiful downtown area featuring riverfront parks, boutique shopping and speciality dining including a European-style farmers market open from May – October. Lake Oswego also offers visitors an active arts scene: Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the outdoor “Gallery Without Walls,” or attend the annual Festival of the Arts in June.

Oregon’s Mt. Hood River beckons travelers with the scent of orchard blooms and the promise of adventure on the rushing waters of the Columbia River. The winds through the Columbia River Gorge provide the perfect conditions for windsurfing and kite surfing, making the city a hotspot for those sports in recent years. The surrounding area is ripe with orchards growing cherries, apples, peaches and other sweets. Take the Mt. Hood Scenic Railroad through the orchard route and take in the views of Mt. Hood.

Green Bay, Wisconsin, is home to the Cheeseheads, fans of the Green Bay Packers, a NFL team so successful that Green Bay has nicknamed itself "Titletown, USA." There is more to Green Bay than just exciting football and delicious dairy products, however. There are beautifully manicured rows of flowers at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, and hiking paths and a natural history museum at the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity. Part of the Flint/Tri-Cities area in Michigan, Saginaw is a small city with unique attractions, including a French-style castle, originally built as a post office and now home to the the local historical society. The city also has its own island park sitting in the middle of Saginaw River, a popular destination for picnics and fireworks. The Japanese Cultural Center, built in conjunction with Saginaw's sister city, Tokushima, features an tea house where authentic tea ceremonies are performed.
