Detailed Reviews
Our group of 6 just returned from a two night stay at Indian River Chalets. These chalets are beautifully decorated and spacious with views of the river. Walking and ski doo trails leave right from the property. A fire was going outside each night with a decorated and lit Christmas tree. Even inside the chalet was a Christmas tree and decorations which was a very nice touch. The owner also brought us a bottle of wine and smoked salmon on the house. They support local businesses and we noticed local soap, shampoo, paintings, and wooden tables inside the chalet. Would definitely visit again!

Beautiful chalet with gorgeous views of the river. The chalet has everything that you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Crisp white linens, bathrobes and NL crafted soap/shampoo.The owners, Shawn & Michelle, were always available to answer any questions and to help with anything that we might need. We can't wait to visit again in September.

First of all, if I could rate higher than 5.....I would!
Location, location, location! When you arrive at the Indian Falls Chalets the first thing you see and hear is the Indian River, meandering in your back yard. Wow!
The Chalets are very well appointed with everything you can think of and high quality finishes and absolutely spotless! Cozy, comfy and convenient! Fire pit provided and supply of chopped dry wood to boot!....just on another note, amazing acoustics for the musically inclined!lol
Michelle and Shawn the hosts, made us feel at home right away, and were very helpful to any questions or requests we had! Very genuine and passionate about their home, heritage and creating the perfect retreat!
Highly, highly recommend any time if the year!

What a fantastic spot in central Newfoundland! The chalets are probably the best we've seen on the Island and by far the location for snowmobiling, hiking, or fly fishing is amazing. Shawn and Michelle are wonderful hosts and came out to enjoy happy hour over the fire pit. They truly want you to enjoy your stay and constantly offered suggestion or recommendations to suit our activities. Our chalet was nestled against the birch trees and overlooking the salmon river. Upon arrival, a fresh bird feeder welcomed little guests all week - sooo beautiful! This spot is great and we will be back!

We absolutely loved this place! From the minute we arrived we felt very welcome. Michelle and Shawn are fantastic hosts - so friendly and helpful. The chalet itself exceeded all our expectations (and based on friends who stayed there in the past, we had high ones lol) Not a detail was missed. Five stars all the way!!
Our one regret was only booking one night. Really wish we had booked in for several more.
We are already planning a return visit for the fall! Can only imagine how spectacular it will be out there that time of year.

We just had a girls getaway weekend at this location. It will not be our last. The owners are fabulous. Down to earth, very helpful and considerate.
The chalet itself was spotless with every amenity you would need. We cooked an amazing breakfast and enjoyed it out on the front deck in the sun.
We got to explore some local sights since we were located in the perfect area.
At first I was sceptical on this booking, to be honest. From the outside looking in it just looks like some chalets on a parking lot. But my mind was quickly changed.
The chalet is so homey and cozy but also modern with an incredible design. The front deck soaks up sun for relaxing. Didn’t even realize once you’re there that other chalets are around and you are close to the main road. Then just down over the hill there is the serene view of the river and falls. Which was absolutely breath taking. We spend a fair bit of time there during the evening sitting on the rocks down there and enjoying the peacefulness of nature. When we walked back up from the Falls the owners had a fire already lit for us. There is no way possible to give Indian Falls Chalet anything less than a 5 star review. Great job guys, keep it up :)

If you are travelling in the Springdale area, be sure to book a “Smoked Salmon Experience” at the Indian Falls Chalets. Shawn first took us down to the beautiful Indian River to explain the life cycle and migration of the local salmon. He then showed how to prepare and smoke the fish before placing it in his homemade smoker. We finished, of course, with a tasting of the delicious final product. What a knowledgeable and friendly guy! You could just tell that he loves being on the land and sharing his appreciation of the area with visitors. His wife, Michelle, joined us and was just as enthusiastic. Can’t wait to come back and stay a while in one of their beautiful chalets overlooking the river.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience here at Indian Falls Chalets! I just love to offer & share this smoked salmon experience with guests & visitors as its such a unique part of our Newfoundland culture. The smokehouse with its sealed smells & aromas was built by my dad 30 years ago. Isn’t the smoked salmon the most flavourful? We certainly enjoyed meeting you all & can’t wait until you can return again!

Back for a third time to enjoy this Newfoundland treasure. From the minute you walk through the doors you know your somewhere special and the accommodations prove that. The fine details in each room along with the exceptional service leaves you wanting more. If you are planning a NL staycation this summer DO not miss this gem. Can’t wait to go again.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Dreaming the Dream Chalet to celebrate our Honeymoon and we are so glad we chose this place to take in the beauty of Central NL. Between Shawn and Michelle, the Chalets, the views and the area, I don't know what made our visit more wonderful. When we checked in both Shawn and Michelle were excited to greet us, give us the lay of the land and some ideas of what to do while in the area. Throughout the stay any time we'd cross paths they were more than happy to say hi and check on how things were going, but our privacy was always respected in our chalets. Even in the construction, with separation between the chalets, and privacy walls on the decks, it's like you're in your own world when visiting! The chalets themselves were beautiful and we couldn't believe how nice everything was kept and presented. Each chalet had a stunning view of the lake, and when you opened your windows you were greeted with the sounds of the falls and the birds singing. The amenities in the Chalets were par-none, with everything you could think of needing, be it BBQ tools, cookware, and even little branded soaps. The little touches throughout really showed the passion that they have for their business.
Right next to the waterfall, we took a few minute walk and got to take in the breathtaking beauty of the falls, and followed the trail down along the river. We're not ones for fishing, but this is truly the spot if you are, with Shawn being a Salmon guide, and being so close to the River, you'll truly appreciate the opportunity.
Located just off the highway, before getting to Springdale, we were surprised at how somewhere so accessible could be so peaceful and tranquil. Close your windows and you hear nothing, open them and the only noises you'll hear are the birds singing and the waterfalls flowing. So close to the groomed trail, this would be an ideal chalet for a snowmobiler wanting to explore central in the winter, too!
The recommended places by the staff to visit were all great, and you can really trust them when they partner with another business that it'll be a good adventure.
No matter the season, there's something up here for everyone to enjoy, even if it's just a night in luxury staying in the chalets. Our only regret is not booking a longer stay!
