On our arrival the warm welcome received at the gate was much appreciated and continued throughout our stay as all the staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.

We arrived without a reservation but were allocated a room with a balcony and sea view which was amazing. Our room was clean, although the decor was a little tired and in need of an update which is why I have not awarded 5 stars. However, limited time will be spent in the room as you will want to make the most of the outdoor facilities which are fabulous and make up for the lack of up to date furnishings!

The hotel pools offer lots of variety and specific areas for children with slides separate from adult pools. Beach towels are provided free of charge which are handy for the private beach on the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea experience is unbelievable made even better by the parasols and loungers provided by the hotel. There are showers on the beach to wash off the salt and mud. Toilets are also on the beach. Flip flops are essential as the beach is shingle with some coarse sand which is painful to walk on without foot protection.

Food was typical of the region with dinner and breakfast served buffet style. Breakfast was particularly good with croissants, pancakes and omelettes freshly made in front of you.

There were many young families staying including tiny babies so the hotel is particularly welcoming to children and is very family focused

Dear Fay J. Thank you for your kind comments and addressing the grounds, the food and sharing the appeal to families. Plus pointing out the flexibility and kindness of our staff. The Dead Sea Resort and Spa, the first hotel at the Dead Sea, does have one of the largest private beaches fully equipped to make your 'floating experience' comfortable. Fay, we hope that you will return to Jordan and visit us again at the lowest point on earth, Dead Sea Jordan.

Rooms are very spacious and well furnished with ample storage. The bar in the lobby is not open at regular hours and seems to only serve coffee. We asked for a Bloody Mary they didn't have tomato juice so we asked for a pina colada and they didn't have coconut milk. Staff at reception are unprofessional and act like they are doing you a favour. All other staff are wonderful especially pool staff and housekeeping. The small upper pool is great as it is over 18 only and away from kids pool, however it is only open at irregular hours and some days not open at all for some mysterious reason. We asked why but no one seems to know the reason. No social distancing or masks at all during breakfast buffet so better sit outdoors. I saw a waiter check the cleanliness of a teaspoon by running his fingers over it. Pub staff are lovely but be aware that all alcohol is local but charged at imported prices.

Dear Linam636 All your comments are well noted and will be addressed to the senior management. The front office note is well received and will be addressed! Regarding the pool hours, strange? We will look into this comment as the pools are open daily. The price of alcohol is competitive all over Jordan, unfortunately we have high taxes. Thank you for addressing important concerns which will be addressed. The Dead Sea Spa and Resort Management.

After reading recent reviews we were a little trepidatious that we'd booked this hotel.
After a long drive from the airport we arrived at 11.30 pm Ibrahim on the desk was lovely and upgraded us to a large corner room with sea views. On the surface the room was great but small things let it down like loose electric socket fittings.
We ate in the restaurant as there's not much else around other than other hotels. Shadi was great as were the waiting staff. In fact I would only give the hotel 3 stars if it weren't for the staff.
The dead sea access is OK down a long path, there are sunbeds and umbrellas and lots of cigarette buts in the sand. There's a pot of dead sea mud you can use and showers on the beach.
The outdoor pools weren't heated and were chilly.
The indoor pool wasn't open which I was really looking forward to even though I could see it was full and all the pumps were working so that seemed a waste
Drinks were very expensive, like hotels the world over I suppose but 7JOD for 2 thin cans of coke Zero is taking the mickey.
In the evening we tried the pub I asked for a piña colada but there was no pineapple juice he offered to make it with orange. I declined. Once the large group of people left the bar for dinner all the music was switched off as if we weren't there! Very strange.
All in all it was OK if you can't afford one of the more expensive hotels next door.
It was probably the height of luxury when built but has seen better days.

Dear 759 Evap Thank you for your thorough comments about the Dead Sea Resort and Spa Hotel. Drinks and food worldwide tend to be higher at Resorts than outside of Resorts, and we feel we are competitive in price. We appreciate your comments about Shadi, Ibrahim, and others who made your stay a nice visit. Thank you.

We stayed at this property on our last night in Jordan. Rooms very spacious, clean, comfortable. They had upgraded our standard room to one with nice Dead Sea view. The sunset view from the room was extra ordinary. The colours of the sea and sky was awesome. This is one of the best sunset I have seen.

I found staff very helpful. Check-in and checkout was very quick and smooth. I had room cooling problem which they fixed quickly by cleaning fins in duct. I has forgotten to see when petrol indicator came to empty. They helped me to get refill by sending their staff

They have well maintained nice garden, many swimming pools (Fun Park for children, seen them enjoying slides in pool) and clean sea shore with free Dead Sea mud. Best part is they have a private beach. Dead Sea is a longish walk down the beach (not the hotel's fault of course) and you need to get your towel before you get down there. There are some loungers and benches and some sunshades. We went twice to the sea, the day we checked in and in the morning next day before check out.

Food at their buffet counters for breakfast had pancake and omelette counter. We had enough choice. We would have loved if they had more variety in fruits. The dinner was good but bit costly.

We will go back to this for sure.

My family and I went for a three day vacation for my kids winter break to the Dead Sea spa. And what a great vacation it was !!
The rooms were immaculate with a beautiful view of the pools and the beach.

The food was scrumptious and served on time with great variety to choose from. The servers were very friendly and helpful, even the dining room manager always stopped by to asked about the food and the service.

The outdoor pool was heated with the right temperature with plenty of beds and fresh towels to go around.

I have to mention that there was a crew working on expanding the beach area with lots of improvements.

The spa was being worked on to make a Turkish bath as well as salt water treatment center, which will be the first of its kind in area.

Hats off to management and staff for an enjoyable stay. Keep up the good work.

Odeh Karadsheh

I was very disappointed with this hotel. As soon as we checked in and went to our room I saw that it was two beds. I immediately went to the front desk and asked if we could have a room with one bed. He totally dismissed me and said that they had none available. He didn’t even look or check. It went all down hill from there. At dinner on each side of my husband and myself there were two single men (each at their own table). They both appeared to be eating in their swimming suits. (Maybe that is why they were by themselves Lol). At breakfast I saw the staff scoop up food that had fallen out of the serving dishes at the buffet at put it back in the serving dish. Disgusting!! Our room was filthy. I have enclosed photos to show you the shower, the phone and the bathtub floor.

Spent the weekend here with friends and their family. This resort is not worth the "4 star rating" they claim. I wanted to look past its misgivings and just have a great time but I just can't help with all the things that are wrong in this hotel. Food is not great, the room needs upgrading, beddings are dirty like they don't change it (hairs of all sorts once you lift the covers) bathroom has molds on the tub trimings hence not recommended to have a soak in the bathtub. Room amenities are of substandard, not even a tissue around, mini fridge not clean, no bathrobe no slippers (I mean for a 4 star hotel, this should be a standard) Local staff are not helpful at all (except for the expatriate staff that they have which are wonderful and great). We had an emergency w/ one of my friend's mother and they don't even have a medical staff (nurse/doctor) and couldn't point or help us with our emergency and ignored us completely. And lastly if you forget something in this hotel, rest assure you'll not be able to get it back! Not worth the stay and the price!

Dear Metp2016 Thankyou for taking the time to express your concerns and share some thoughts. The hotel is the first to be built at the Dead Sea so agreed to an older hotel comment. Though I will disagree on the following: We take all urgent and emergency matters seriously and the Dead Sea Resort and Spa is the only hotel at the Dead Sea with a certified medical clinic on premises, possibly the doctor was not present at the time of the incident though our management team is ready and able to assist 24/7. We do invite you back to the Dead Sea Resort and Spa and please contact me directly if you decide to visit us again in the near future. Thank you.

We have a group of 17 people, part of tour stayed at Moevenpick Dead Sea, we decide to book extra 2 nights at Dead Sea Spa Resort, I called the hotel and they offer free pick up for us. The manager and staff are very nice and friendly, check in very smooth and all of us get an upgrade.
Hotel room is big, my room only get air conditioning, no heat, so I call the front desk for small heater.
Beach towel is old, room service is not quite as good, no water replace and did not pick up beach towel, even if you put tip money in advance.
Beach facility is good, in process of update.
Restaurant, no drink, need to pay extra for drink (expensive).
Overall is good.

The Dead Sea spa hotel is said to be the best of the Dead Sea hotels and I can quite believe it. It occupies an enormous site, stretching from the main road right down to the sea. Really good facilities. business meetings going on when we were there, which was very interesting rather than annoying - the excellent breakfast was quite an experience, The Dead Sea itself is extraordinary - we'll never forget that visit its an amazing feeling. Staff were switched on and friendly, thanx for the kute boy mr mahmoud

We spent 3 days at this hotel after a long journey in Amman, Petra and Wadi Rum, So the purpose was to have some rest after coming back home. We were able to do so. The Hotel is old but nice. It definitely need some refurbishing, The beds are comfortable and the rooms are kept clean. It has enough pools for enjoying some relaxing time in them with kids. The dead sea beach is not far and you have access to the mood in a container near to the beach, that you can use for free. The food is quite tasty. You do have to pay for your drinks. About the price we paid, it is not as expensive as the other hotels in the area. This is an expensive zone. The hotel is fairly close to one of the border points between Jordan and Israel (Palestine - Allenby Bridge also known as King Hussein Bridge) in case you are planing to go to Jerusalem. We were asked for 40 JD by the tourism service at the hotel, but we got an Uber for just 17 JD with a very nice guy. Mohammed took us to the border station where we filled and paid all the required fees and documentation, and from there we got the bus to crossed the border.

Dear Emolano76 Thank you for the thorough, lengthy and honest remarks. The Dead Sea Spa Resort is the first full service hotel at the Dead sea, We take pride in our food selection with our tenure chef who grows many of the fresh vegetables/fruits locally. Most hotels and restaurants do charge for beverages, that normal and we are competitively price to other resorts. Regarding transfer fares, you are correct with the prices. Our hotels range about 40 JOD but of course UBER sets their prices. Thank you for your informative review! Wishing you well.
