Brilliant hotel and staff. The hotel dates back to the 18th century and has many of existing features and is tastefully decorated to reflect the hotels heritage. The staff are truly amazing and genuine they put the H into hospitality. We stayed for a mini moon and they go out of there way to make everyone’s staff great

Had a one night staycation in January. From check in to check out the staff were all fantastically friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and the food we had in the evening was superb. Well done everyone at the hotel to create such a amazing atmosphere.

We spent 5 good nights at this hidden gem and I am not sure where to start! Room service and housekeeping 5 star, staff attitude 5*+, location very good and quiet, room amenities 5 *, value for money 5*, they have a car park, what very much stood out for us was the lady at the reception from Poland who received us, the waitress, and housekeeping team that have made our stay exceptional and memorable! Thank you very much! You will never hear a car pass by, but be sure to be woken up by birds singing praises to their Maker! Staff are so friendly and very helpful! I highly recommend this hotel it’s just 30-32 minutes to the airport! 19 to 20 mins from town!

There are hotels. And there are hotels. This is more than a hotel. It is a home, providing hotel services. If you like Premier Inn etc, then this is not for you. Branded hotels are almost guest-in-a-box affairs. They're great for some leisure travel, but when you want to push the boat out, and in this part of Jersey, then may I recommend here? Its like staying in a country house. As has been mentioned, for mobility issues, it is not the best placed. But ..... for the sheer peace and tranquillity, then I don't know anywhere quite like it. As I write this, all I can hear is the water feature outside. It feels like time has stopped, and as a result, we both (honeymooning as it happens) feel so rested and relaxed, we are struggling to keep our eyes open. There aren't many guests here, depending on when you come, and as a result, there aren't that many staff. But I absolutely adore that. We feel like we have gotten to know the staff well, and have nothing but the highest praise for the care and attention they have paid us during our stay. The room is clean and well kept, the breakfasts to write home about. we have two more nights left, and we are *ALREADY* planning our next trip. I am not joking either .... If you are someone that needs to turn the fast past of life off for a while, even just a couple of days, and live life a lot slower, do consider here. It is now, with very little competition, undoubtedly my favourite hotel in the UK / Channel Islands, Amazing place, so very very glad we found it,

The Chateau La Chaire was a lovely little hotel, in a lovely location. It cost approximately £30 to get a taxi from the airport and just down the road a £2 bus would take you into St Helier. It was yards from the beach (and on a clear day France was visible). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was a good side, clean and well fitted out. My only negative comment was that the whole hotel (room and communal areas) were looking a bit tatty - paint was peeling, there were scuffs and marks everywhere, colours were fading, etc. This is nothing that couldn't be easily rectified by redecorating. Overall a lovely place to stay

We have just had a great break at Chateau La Chaire. It is a fabulous hotel in the tranquil and picturesque area of Rozel Bay. The North Jersey walking coast is on the doorsteps and offers fantastic walking opportunities. We used buses on Jersey which are frequent, reliable and cheap. it allows you to walk the coast in either direction and not have to walk back the same way. Just beware that all buses go to St Helier and then back out again! The hotel is a quality establishment in a lovely old house that has been decorated in style - but don't stay here if you want lifts/air con etc. it's a place to relax in large rooms, enjoy the lounge, bar and dining room. There is a choice of dining in a more formal atmosphere of the dining room or at their owned gastropub just down the road. Service from the Reception staff, bar and serving staff is personal and of a very high standard. Thoroughly recommended for a relaxing stay.

My husband and I have recently return from a trip to the Chateau La Chaire for our friend’s wedding. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and at home. If you like modern hotels, this probably isn’t the hotel for you but we loved it. If you have mobility issues, the hotel is at the top of a hill and does not have a lift. The hotel is located in a very tranquil setting with a short walk down to the beach. We plan to stay here again but next time we will hire a car as taxis were expensive and the hotel is quite remote although there is a regular bus service at the bottom of the hill into the main towns. The staff were lovely, especially Sonia who was our waitress in the hotel restaurant the night before the wedding and also was serving at the wedding reception. I would highly recommend eating in the restaurant as the food was delicious and of a very high quality. It is haute cuisine so don’t expect a plate full of food but it is deceptively filling. We can’t wait to go back.

First thing to say is that if you have any kind of mobility issues (or aren’t very fit) this is not the hotel for you…. If you are in a wheelchair I would definitely give this place a wide berth. This is an older hotel which has character, but if you like the conveniences and facilities of a modern hotel (like air-con or swimming pools/gyms) then again, this is not the place for you either. The interior of the hotel has charm, lovely hall and dining rooms with lots of gothic wood panelling and a lovely staircase, plus a bright lounge. However there are no additional facilities, limited outside space and although their bar was pretty it was small and no atmosphere. There are no lifts, lots of stairs to get to the property and up to the rooms. We booked a superior room and it was expensive (not peak season), bathroom very small and basic. Pretty bed with bath at the end of the bed. But tbh the room was too small for the bath and it felt cramped. Plus because of electrical regs you cant have power sockets near the bath so there was only one working power socket in the room (which was also hanging off the wall)… at the furthest point away from the one tiny mirror on the dressing table. The staff were sweet and lent us an extension lead so I could dry and straighten my hair. In fairness there were some usb charging sockets in the wall by the desk… but again no power outlet so would be difficult to work with a lap top. Also the coverage was awful (totally not their fault but worth mentioning if anyone needs to work during their stay). The room felt impractical and cramped and quite hot (it must get very hot in the peak summer). Overall the room felt massively overpriced for what it was and left us feeling pretty disappointed. But if you like very ‘cozy’ rooms and don’t mind stairs you may find it romantic. There is very little outside space, but the atmosphere is quite peaceful. Can’t fault the staff, they were delightful and very professional. The breakfast was nice (we didn’t eat dinner there but other guests told us it was good food). Rozel bay is a bit out of the way but gorgeous and it’s very peaceful there. Virtually next door is a lovely pub serving fab bistro type meals as well as traditional pub fare… lovely atmosphere and pretty on the inside.

A very friendly hotel with welcoming and kind staff. Excellent covid protocols, right down to staff telling us the pens we can sign with have been sanitised. Room was comfy but a little dated and in need of a bit of a refurb. There was either old dirty staining or wear and tear on the wall behind our bed but room had all the amenities we needed. We were really grateful the staff warned us there was a wedding happening that night and that there may be some noise but telling us what time that noise would probably end. Just having that knowledge meant that we totally understood and were prepared for that and didn't feel any frustration. Outdoor terrace looked a lovely spot to sit and eat.

.......just returned from a great week in Jersey staying at this hotel. Fabulous location / area & really great staff who were very attentive & extremely welcoming to us, especially our dog Flo. Food was particularly outstanding with an excellent choice, especially for breakfast. We did eat most evenings at the Rozel Pub & Dining establishment which is connected to the business & catered more for our needs in terms of our dog & is located no more than a two minute walk away. Similarly excellent food & friendly, professional staff. The Chateau is in need of some updating which is planned to be done, however this has apparently been understandably delayed due to the COVID situation. Nevertheless we will most definitely return. No hesitation in recommending.
